I would love an M-1 rifle but hard to find in Canada and as for the FN, our government has said we can't have one. It's a "bad gun". Loved the one I used in the army. All wood, reliable, accurate, easy to strip down, hard hitting round.
Great video Chris. I've seen Springfield M1 Garands which are all correct go for North of $3,000 as well.
I got to fire an FN FAL and a Galil on the range about 25 years ago, Great guns then, and great guns now!
Just a heads up about Chiapa products.I know some people swear by them but I’ve had nothing but problems from my M1 22. Sent it back, took the company 10 months to get back to me. Ended up selling it for 100 bucks just to get it off my hands. Some of the worst customer service and be aware of the other names they use such as Charles daily
I love my Galil but it’s a parts kit build. Runs great and is super fun to shoot. Throws brass about a mile down range
Quickly becoming my favorite channel.
..those FNs are tack drivers. The sights are just outstanding...
The Garand was originally .276, the FAL was also originally .276 IIRC, now we're on the 277 Fury. Full circle. I carried a ceremonial, leaded-barrel Garand for three years - manual of arms and all that. Heavy sucker even without the lead.
It’s very interesting, what comes around goes around, I really do think the ideal cartridge is the 6.5 mm, I think eventually everything comes back to that
Thanks Chris enjoyed it great job on the history too
Love the. FAL
Love that Spencer carbine my grandfather had one that was a Civil War one an it had a square leather shoulder pouch that held four spare tubes the story of the rifle was that it had been brought back by my grandfather's grandfather who served with the Confederacy an I believe there was a infantry version made also really enjoy your videos
Great stuff this week!
👍 Always look forward to seeing your weekly used gun review. 👍
I have the Spencer, great rifle
I would really like Ruger to make more models of the 1022, and 22 magnum, maybe even 57?
Semiauto 22 Mag has always been a problem. Because of the power vs the the length they tend to get very finicky about ammo choices and cleaning status.
Very nice blast from the past 👍
Boy you just keep getting more and more interesting stuff. It must not stick around the shop very long.
Thank you very much for your videos they are great and your estimated prices have value each person from original purchase to current should at least walk away with satisfaction of purchase and your knowledge is of great value to me as I learn more each day your simple understanding of your product gives me absolute confidence in understanding the market once again thank you so much please enjoy your day further
Awesome video Chris!
Sweet. I went by your store on Thursday.
love how the irst part of the video showing use the Garands just tease the tips and never really show us them..
Let me just say that Germany was waaaay behind with regard to semi auto rifles. The first specs weren't issued until after the invasion of Russia in 41 i think.
The FAL has an inch pattern bolt carrier, sand cut.
I've never heard Armi Sport itself mentioned in a video until now. (i know who armi sport is, Chiappa now.) But its weird to finally hear them mentioned in a video like tihs.
I just noticed that there were no Pistols this time a little different O’well
why do I want the M44 carbine over all in this video, its the perfect hiking gun, love my m77 in 44mag but this would be the one to carry.
I owned a few of them when I lived in Minnesota. In my experience they need really hot ammo the function. Also I heard spare parts for the most part are not available. Maybe ok if you hunt with it and only shoot it a few times a year or as a collectable to add to your collection. I say your way better off with your M77 in 44 mag.
I agree, I’d love to have one.
Unless we have decided Duff isn't the go to anymore, wouldn't a 3.1 million Springfield have a stamped trigger guard?
Where the Galil go? Don’t see it or the m1? Sold already?
Chris should watch the 9 Hole Review Podcast about the Falkland Islands. There's no proof of Americans swapping FAL's during the Faulkland Island conflict. Aldo Americans didn't use FAL's they used M16's.
I don’t know which conflict in the Falklands you’re addressing, but I am talking about the 1982, 2.5 month conflict involving Argentina and the UK. The Argentinians were using an array of weapons, but primarily the FAL was fielded. The primary British rifle fielded was the FAL variant L1A1 SLR. It is my understanding that the US had very little military involvement in this conflict due to its diplomatic ties to the UK and its financial ties to Argentina. Please send a link to the video you’re discussing. Thanks for watching!
Do you know… the M1 Garand actually inspired the Kalashnikov AK because of the operating components like the long gas piston and the captive recoil spring between the M1 and the AK are similar. And it’s because Mr. Kalashnikov took lots of inspiration from Garand to design the AK. The MP44 went towards the Western NATO side and became the CETME and the HK G3 series of long guns. The FN FAL also took inspiration from the MP44, as the FAL was originally gonna be in 7.92 mm Kurz and the left side controls on the FAL look like the MP44’s controls. In the end, the FAL and the G3 are MP44 inspired, whereas the AK is M1 Garand inspired.
I somehow doubt Mr. K had access or had seen a M1...
Lack of bottle opener on the Galil makes me sad.
buy a Valmet.
👍🏻👍🏻🔫🔫🇺🇸🇺🇸💯💯☕️☕️🛎
Spot the best rifle of the Korean War was FN49
And the Belgians killed thousands of Chinese, the memorial
Belgian is twice as tall and more beautiful than the us
Every year the Koreans celebrate the Belgians, so a can
Of modesty the American (you have never been able to do
Only)
Not sure if you will see this or not, but I'll post anyway incase others finds this info interesting.
In regards to the M1, the stamped trigger guard actually came about in mid 1944, so that trigger guard is quite possibly correct. There is a way to tell between a late-war stamped guard and a post-war stamped guard by looking at the hooks. The late-war guard was stamped except for the hook which was milled out. The later guards were entirely stamped. Here is an example of the difference between the two:
