How shocked were yall that they came out with new music AFTER 15 YEARS?!?!
I was 6 months old when hypnotized released so I didnt really experienced that album but I became a fan in 2012 bc of my dad and I've been wanting new music. 2020 isnt all bad bc soad is back!!!!

I wasn't really because all the members have solo project in between these 15 years.
I was 9 last time SOAD released new music, my jaw almost hit the floor when I heard they'd put out new music

It's like they never left. These songs would have fit right into their previous albums
Genocidal humanoids sounds like it could be on either toxicity or hypnotize or mesmerize
They could definitely fit in hypnotize/mezmerize 100% and genocidal humanoidz maybe toxicity

So, first sounds punk, then normal SOAD, then death metal, then BLACK METAL, death metal again, SOAD again, punk. WTF is this song! I love it!

How does it feel listening to brand new SoaD after 15 yrs? When I saw their announcement I was like 'holy shit, no way!', then, when I heard Daron and Serj singing in the same song again, I almost cried. I told nothing will surprise me in 2020 anymore, but I apparently was wrong.

A huge amount of their music is about that exact topic. Their brilliant at hiding it in their lyrics but a LARGE chunk of their songs are about that very topic.

You need to listen to more SOAD if you aren't an SOAD fan.
“The prostitutes who prosecute have failed us from the start” felt that part. Remember why SOAD released this music to bring attention to our cause. Armenia is under attack by genocidal regimes of Turkey and Azerbaijan.
Hope that people all around the world will get aware of what's happening in Armenia, Artsakh!!

Watch The Promise on Netflix (a good movie starring Oscar Isaac), support Armenians because even acknowledging what happened in 1915 and now is a big help, the Turkish government has still not acknowledged the genocide and still wants to silence Armenian’s and Azerbaijan is now a part of that too, enjoy SOAD’s music but also remind yourself why they made these two songs in the first place
before I saw Serj talking about this on twitter I had no idea this was hapenning. SOAD is doing something amazing by letting people know about how much Armenians are suffering. It is unbelievable how Azerbaijan and Turkey are killing inocent people, commiting war crimes, using banned weapons, etc

I think only armenians are not thaat surprised, because we follow Serj last month veery carefully, he has already participated in online concert for Artsakh, and generally did a lot - interviews, spreading and analyzing things. I kind of was waiting some song from Serj only may be, but yes, one (even 2) from SOAD seems crazy! This songs bursted from their heart. I am sure they will have a great concert in Artsakh, looking forward to that now!

Most of SOADs members never left music, they just went on to be in different bands. Serj has been releasing solo stuff for awhile now on his UA-cam Channel.

There are many churches, historical and cultural infrastructures in Artsakh, which were built in the 3-4th centuries. For the Armenian side, victory means to keep our lands. Thanks SOAD. You should react to lives by scars on broadway. It's Daron Malakians, the guitarist in system, band and it sounds a lot like system.
Daron is System of a Down, sod wouldn’t need Serj to release a great album his voice is great but Daron could pull it off alone!

you know, i am really young, so i never got to grow up wit system of a down or experience their music when it just came out. so when they released these songs last year, i was absolutely thrilled, i was so unbelievably happy that system released brand new music in my lifetime

In 2001, I was 7 years old when I grabbed systems debut album off of a thrift store shelf. I remember my mom telling me I could pick ONE cd and she’d buy it for me, I saw the cover and just thought “that looks kinda cool.” From there I never turned back, I followed these guys career and side projects the whole way. Incredible expressionism, unique sounds and an all around amazing persona. As a lifelong fan I can say that this new music fits into the equation perfectly. Well done.

Jesus christ, SOAD’s ability to sound as chaotic as possible while still sounding like a beautiful melody continues to just blow me away. The mix of Daron’s hard as fuck riffs and low vocals and Serj’s melodic vibrato, even after 15 years, continue to be a force rarely matched.
Its been 15 long years but they are back, bolder and better than ever. SOAD are back!
