It’s amazing to watch you take the simplest thing and then make some thing beautiful out of it. I’ve been joyed each of your videos. Thank you so much.
Thank you, very cleaver. I think I will size a before and after to satisfy my curiosity of size change, LOL! Always enjoy following along with your videos, thank you for your time :)
Now this is going on my to-do list! Looks like a great weekend project, simple stack rings. Definitely not a week-night-hammer-fest. ;) I would be getting dirty looks from a tired husband Thank you for this!
Wonderful I just bought a 160 pack copper washers for the backs of my pendants , you know now after seeing this I am going to make myself a nice copper ring :-)
Omg wow I work with copper washers and I would have never even thought about doing what u just showed us. This is so awesome thanks so very much for sharing this with me.
I made a pair of copper earrings and they look great. I got to thinking why not in silver and gold washer. Bad idea! The silver dented up my bench block, and the gold chips off during texturing. So my hubby got 2 set of washer boxes. Live and learn. I still have the copper to work with.
That’s really cool! I love copper jewelry❣️. Thanks, I’ve made copper rings out of copper tubes, never washers. Thanks for giving us another idea on how to make rings.
Very nice Melissa! I have done connectors and earrings with copper washers but never tried doing a ring. I'm not set up for torch work yet. I just brought all my supplies home from our winter place in Arizona. I need to purchase a tumbler and all my equipment needed for soldering etc..it's a work in progress. Love your work.
Oh my goodness I was wondering if there was a way to turn washers into rings without heat. This is awesome I can't wait to try! Thank you so much. I have letter stamps so I'd love to be able to make custom rings for mother's day with childrens initials or special messages
@@ZurickDesigns I've been having trouble getting this to come out right 😭 my washers keep buckling and looking all wonky....I think I need to anneal more. I'll keep trying though I'm not ready to give up yet lol
I just made this! 😊 Your hand strength must be impeccable because my hands and arms are worn out from making just one ring. Maybe once I get it figured out how to do it the easiest way, my hands and arms may grow stronger.😂
Very informative session! How great is that to get a ring from a washer? I’m getting an idea that the same method might work for a coin! There are special tools (very expensive) for it, but perhaps you can make it without the fancy tools. Great video! Keep up the great work!
Yes, please to know that even if a person had arthritis, they could still do some thing like create jewellery cause I have a strong interest in learning how to do this, but I do have some autoimmune conditions and arthritis is one of my issues.
Hiii love your vids (very zen!) and your work. After approximately 763,000 failed efforts I’ve finally managed to get a ring that’s starting to look like a ring. Are there other ways to smooth and polish other than “power tools” and tumblers? Can you file these by hand and if yes, what kind of file? Thanks a ton!
In the video you said that you'd leave a link to the video on how you tumble this kind of stuff. I don't see it... What speed did you set the tumbler for, and what kind of polishing media did you use?
@@ZurickDesigns I'm still astounded that people seem incapable of either listening to instructions, or looking in the description box - given how long UA-cam has been around - and that this is the convention for practically _every 'how-to' video I've ever watched!_ As well as being very talented, you have the patience of a saint! Thank you for sharing your talents and skills with us so generously. 🤍
What do you put in the tumbler with your jewellery please. I've been looking at getting one from Vevor, but they told me it wasn't suitable for jewellery. I'm sorry to hear about you having arthritis my daughter has it bad as well, and she's only 28 but has Chrones disease.
@ZurickDesigns my washer kit should arrive today!!!!! Can't wait to start. Really wanted to just go pick one up but all I could find was the auto shop and it was wayyy more expensive for less washers than online :[ so. I was patient haha
I think this would be much easier in a dapping block $40, or even a steel press $60 at Harbor Freight. If you use a Dapping Block + the Steel Press (faster) or Dapping Block + Punch Set (manual), you can turn a washer from a disc into a cylinder faster with no distortion. You can also turn coins into rings, and take a larger ring band and compress it into a smaller ring band (just the band). Here is a video on how to do it with these tools: ua-cam.com/video/HDxDnw98PnU/v-deo.html
Has anyone experienced the copper rubbing off on tools and tiny little shards of copper coming off their copper washer when hammering, wondering if I got fake copper washer from Amazon?
Thanks for watching! Let me know what you think and if you think you"ll give this a try!
This is great. I never would have thought to turn the washer inside out. Thank you for sharing.
You're welcome!!
Copper jewlerys are fun and stylish, they go well with a black cloths

Let me know if it works! ☺️💜
Love your cute puppers at the end of the video so cute 😍
Thanks! She’s a riot! ☺️💜
Will these turn your fingers green?
If your skin reacts to copper it will.
Really helpful tutorial, Melissa - thank you!

Love this tutorial ❤️ I finally tried it and I feel like such a weakling! You make it look so easy.
It’s kinda rough on the hands!

Cute pup
I ❤ how you made them. For your hand frankensense extract & castor oil pure. Wear the copper it helps.
Thanks for the tips!
I do use them. Not much help unfortunately.

hi can i ask what copper wire you use, i have tried several makes and they are all to soft to hold shape. thank you.
Check description!
Copper washers ☺️
Awesome 👌 love it. Where's your next Gem show? 💎
Intergem Rosemont 4/29, 4/30 & 5/1
I'd probably polish them up with my dremel 😊
Hi! I"d love to make these, thank you for the tutorial. Do you know if these washers are pure copper or is there anything else added?
I believe they are all copper

Great. Gonna try today! Are there good inexpensive tumblers?! Thanks
I just use a small plastic one and it’s worked fine ☺️
Very cool idea! Have you figured out what size washer creates a certain ring size?
I haven’t yet 😬
Lindo
Thanks!
Если долго мучиться, что нибудь получится.🎉
I used tape to keep it from sliding.
Good tip! Thanks! ☺️💜
Very nice ring to look at but do you need to treat them with anything to stop the skin turning green?
You could put a sealer on them but it may rub off.
Yes, please to know that even if a person had arthritis, they could still do some thing like create jewellery cause I have a strong interest in learning how to do this, but I do have some autoimmune conditions and arthritis is one of my issues.
Definitely!
I think it’s good to keep things moving but also know when to take a break!
Can you put jewelry with cabochons in the tumbler?
I do depending on the stone. Not for as long usually.
Love your videos. How do you keep it from leaving a green finger?
Some people don’t turn green. Different chemistries.

You could use metal files but that’s hard work! Lol
I Love these!!!
When you put them in the Tumbler what do you put in with it Sand?
I use stainless steel shot
Lady, you are BRILLIANT! So, how did they sell? What demographic bought them?
People bought them in the Chicagoland area for $10. Not bad!
6:48 6:50 so pretty where can I get the tapered measure bar?

@ZurickDesigns thank you very much I do appreciate your response.
Did you debur them?
Hammered and tumbled
Any estimation what inner diameter ends up being in approx ring size? Im hoping to get some washers!!!!
I haven’t figured that out. Potentially the more you hammer it the larger they can get

Copper is a relatively soft metal compared to others
