I made a pair of copper earrings and they look great. I got to thinking why not in silver and gold washer. Bad idea! The silver dented up my bench block, and the gold chips off during texturing. So my hubby got 2 set of washer boxes. Live and learn. I still have the copper to work with.

Very informative session! How great is that to get a ring from a washer? I’m getting an idea that the same method might work for a coin! There are special tools (very expensive) for it, but perhaps you can make it without the fancy tools. Great video! Keep up the great work!

I think this would be much easier in a dapping block $40, or even a steel press $60 at Harbor Freight. If you use a Dapping Block + the Steel Press (faster) or Dapping Block + Punch Set (manual), you can turn a washer from a disc into a cylinder faster with no distortion. You can also turn coins into rings, and take a larger ring band and compress it into a smaller ring band (just the band). Here is a video on how to do it with these tools: ua-cam.com/video/HDxDnw98PnU/v-deo.html
