    Hello! 👋🏻Another video on easy diy rings is here! These rings can be worn by any gender really, simply make them into dainty rings or a bit more robust if you like. I’m also sharing what I know about hammering 🔨wire jewelry, so lots of tips for you if you're interested. Oh and these rings can be also made into adjustable diy rings by not creating the knot(which needs hammering) but simply leaving the ends open and just creating two small loops on each end. Have a beautiful day 💖☀💖

    I love these! In other videos the artist says not to hammer twisted wire as it will break. Have you had any problems with that? I really like how your wire turned out after hammering.

    • @HelenaDaydreamer
      @HelenaDaydreamer  Рік тому +1

      It depends on what sort of wire you hammer and how much. From my experience, softer wires, like copper tend to get more brittle when hammered, but bare brass seems to withstand a lot more. But whether it’s twisted or not, it’s important to know when to stop hammering, otherwise the metal will break. When the wire is twisted and not very thick, you don’t want to apply too much pressure with the hammer.

    🎉...Thank you so much for sharing the do's & don't s in wire ring making. Ur explanation & demonstration on how to create the wire rings is very easy to follow. However 1 question. If not using coated wire for ur DIY instead using uncoated wire... How do u deal w tarnish r turning ur finger green. I've got plenty of thick beautiful copper wire was well as a few others that when not coated I worry to give as a gift. What do u do r suggest to keep the jewelry shining, beautiful, untarnished?

    • @HelenaDaydreamer
      @HelenaDaydreamer  Рік тому

      Thank you so much 😊 In regards to tarnishing, there are products on the market to take care of this, but they do have pros and cons, I'm going to make a video on this topic since there were a lot of people asking this. So stay tuned 💖

  • @Ilovejewelry06
    @Ilovejewelry06 Рік тому

    Helena thank you- It really does make sense when you say that hammering does not go well with “non tarnish” wire. I’ve tried it and it’s just very dull with no shine whatsoever after hammering. So the BIG question is: what do you like to do to prevent tarnishing of bare brass, copper, etc? I don’t want to sell something to someone, and then their piece turn tarnished right away.
    Also, have you used metals like aluminum and stainless steel and have found that they do not tarnish? Thanks for some direction in this. Otherwise, I feel like I will have to only result to the expensive stuff like gold filled to make my stuff. And that’s not always affordable.

    • @HelenaDaydreamer
      @HelenaDaydreamer  Рік тому

      You can buy products to either spray or coat your jewelry and slow down the tarnishing, but they do have pros and cons too.. I'm going to make a video on this topic hopefully for next Saturday as there were a lot of people asking about this. So I will go into details there ❤️ I hope that's ok ☀️

      Hi Helena- Were you going to make a video about this? Tarnishing of metals, different metals vs others, pros and cons?

    I'm very new to wire wrapping and I have a question. I buy parawire and it's all non tarnish wire. If I were to use copper could I buy it from a hardware store or is there a difference in wire bought from places like parawire as opposed to a hardware store? By the way I love your rings, they are so pretty...

    • @HelenaDaydreamer
      @HelenaDaydreamer  Рік тому

      Hi, thank you for watching and I'm happy you like the rings 💕 When it comes to wire, I personally buy mine from craft supplies or jewellery making supplies. I guess it depends what sort of hardware store it is and what quality of metal wire they sell, but I would personally still aim for the above suppliers, even if it's not a well known brand like Parawire. Btw parawire sells all sort of bare wires too, check out their website. But, just to let you know, non tarnish wire is great for jewelry making, I use it all the time, it's just not suitable for hammered jewelry ✨ Have fun on your jewelry making journey 💖

    Where did you buy this wire and what is its name?

  • @marcellecostanza1777

    Is there a reason you did not hammer the ring before you shaped it - at least everything but where it is joined?

    • @Kitkatblue989
      @Kitkatblue989 5 місяців тому

      I can’t say for certain, but it’s probably to avoid work hardening the wire while it’s still being bent - that way there’s less chance for anything to break off during the shaping process
