yeah I don't think 4x makes a blk pan it takes a little time, I would think. Maybe different oils will get you there faster?

Nice stuff! The CF is unmarked Wagner, and the griswold is small logo mid 40s groove handle- not after Wagner acquired them, but the last run of true griswold pieces..

Very cool!!! Good stuff!!! That unmarked Wagner chicken fryer really struck the awesome chord with me as I inherited my grandmother's unmarked Wagner skillet that looks identical to that but obviously shorter sides! I'm admiring it now!!

I season my iron twice on a weber grill with charcoal and hickory chunks, they come out black and look like they been used 100 years.

Yes you were right in assuming the big BSR was not so old...made in USA were mostly after the late 60s and yes she is a century series. Nice pan.😊 And going by the handle on that bronze Griswold😍 it was made after Wagner acquired them cause if you check the handle it looks just like the handle on your unmarked Wagner chicken fryer and the small block logo flat bottom pans were among the last ones produced by Griswold. Keep cooking it will get darker. The bronze looks so good. Nice vid bro keep em coming.

the gold color you talk about is the color the oils you used to season skillets with just cook with the skillets and they will turn dark

The unmarked Dutch Oven is a Lodge. You can always tell by the knobs and design of the drip on the inside of the lid. Lodge I don't think has changed. Still the same in the modern lids

The pitting doesn't look nice but it still works very nice for me! I have an old # 8 Griswold with heavy pitting and it is a sweet cast iron pan! Eggs slide around in it! Doesn't pick up any black residue!

Someone polished that #8 griswold with a sander or wire wheel. That's why it won't hold a seasoning or get that dark black patina. It's a shame people do that to their iron

I did it with a lodge chefs pan and it got dark eventually. It just took a little longer. I cleaned up the harsh edges too, so it looks really nice. Everyone asks where I got it.
I agree, messed up to do it with a griswold. People get so snobby about sanding though.. who cares.. lodge are a dime a dozen. Stamp hearts onto it and use it as a foot rest.. not my business. 🤷🏾‍♀️

@ 9:32, i think a #6 would be around 9+"s and a #9 would be about 11+"s at the top............ hope that helps..........

And it gets funnier the longer you watch this. "Here's my collection" I don't know if it's a six or a nine. Can someone tell me?". Lol, you're "collecting" but have no idea what you're buying!!!
