I just watched this and this was by far the best review I watched for this device. Easy subscribe! Good luck growing your channel, and I cannot wait to get this thing in my hands!
Such a good quality video 💯 I really like the device and its performance but the price says no ! New sub 👍🏻 and waiting for the next video about the NS games to try on this strong virtual device
I'd love to see how more Switch titles do with the base model's 8 GB of RAM. I likely won't be doing much of it, but I'm curious to see how it performs without the extra RAM. I bought the base model but it hasn't arrived yet.
Thank you for the deep review! It would be great to see a comparison with Retroid Pocket 5 (screen/brightness, ergonomics, audio, etc.). I know about the price difference and different form factors, but they both offer good power and OLED/AMOLED screens.
Best review I've seen on thes device so far, covered almost everything I was curious about. I would have liked to get the black version, but it's way too smudgy so I just decided to go with the white. Hopefully it doesn't get discolored too easily. Btw are you still enjoying using it 3 weeks later?
Bro if i see one more comment complaning about the price when the Odin 2/Odin 2 mini arent that much cheaper for a smilar chipset minus the OLED too...
Congrats on a great review @bassDerek ! I quite like that it wasn't the overkill retro colored version all the established channels have been given. I have had my doubts if the smallest spec 8 Gb 128 would be enough for what i want to do with it (it totally is btw) but it is a key factor no-one really covers and in a device that goes 2x price for the highest spec it is really important i would say. The black IS a smudge magnet as far as i can tell from other reviews and the white is easier to keep clean - gatekeeping the retro colorways is just stupid imho No need to show switch stuff - it will only piss of Nintendo and get you in trouble and as you said this is not the device for that due to the screen
@@bassderek I get the tradeoff - i for one would rather unbiased. Even if one claims there is no bias - getting the product for free will without a doubt taint the review In this case the retro version and all the oter ones too are just insane for most people - the 8gb should be just fine for the retrostuff fitting the display and is the version i will be getting. (i had the retro version ordered but brain took over and i really hate crowdfunding as preorder ;))
Great review as always Derek. Surprised that you bought this device with your own money. I also wonder how many more months it takes for this device to be actually sold out of the indiegogo early bird. If you really want to sell it off, please hit me 😅
Great review! What settings are you using for F-Zero GX? I can't get it to run smooth 60 fps. I tried OpenGL, Vulkan, decreasing the resolution, dual core, and other things. There are always frame drops throughout. In OpenGL, the first race starts at 30 fps, reaches 60 fps, and the dips keep coming frequently. I actually got it to run smooth with Turnip drivers rev6 at the expense of graphical glitches, which is not great!
I don't remember specifically, but usually vulkan and dual core on (make sure you set in the game individual settings - if you set it globally it will still turn off for F-Zero). It's worth noting some of the later races can be harder to run. I did not use any custom drivers.
Was the. console not in a little bag or wrap or screen protector inside the box? It just sat bare like that? Or did you already opened it and then omitted to tell us?
I was watching your video and I’m considering getting the Pocket DMG. This is probably a stupid question but would the 8 GB RAM model be sufficient for emulating Dreamcast and Saturn or would I need to move into the 12 GB model?
Well. Money no object, probably yes. Unless you want a real right joystick. For the price for what you’re getting? Thats a lot more subjective. Depends on what you want to play on it.
@bassderek right. You see the Snapdragon 865 running Skyrim... On a wide screen. Unless you can really get that 1:1 full screen experience on games that require this kind of power it feels pointless. Everything that would look best on this could easily be played on an RG cube for $300 less
IM HERE RAGING ABOUT THIS OVERPRICED AYANEO PRODUCT........ but I want one
🤣
Did you do it? I'm so tempted... 😅
I bit the bullet and bought one yesterday will be here in 4 days 😊
Thanks for the in-depth review. I'm excited to get mine soon. Cant wait to play the entire 4/3 retro catalog.

Thank you! I appreciate you subscribing!
Im so happy I don't care about stretched content, I guess my brain is messed up 😂. Great video!!!!
Haha. Maybe I’m the one with the messed up brain for caring too much…?
Same, If it's that bad you can stretch it to 4:3 to gain some more screen but not look too wierd
Such a good quality video 💯

Dream device for retro gaming

Yes, it’s replacing most small handhelds for me (still use the trimui brick for toss and go), Haven’t changed my opinion.

Thanks! I have even considered only buying stuff even if I get bigger. The main bummer (besides cost) is I’d publish my reviews after others.

I would love to have one of these dmg wasu first handgeld too buddy. maybe thats why im in love with this (besides the weird stick)
Good to see cooling is an improvement over the S
Thanks for checking out 16:9 gameplay. I can save money now. I subbed ur channel.
Nice detailed review ! New subs here
Thank you!
the price is simply outrageous!!!
next please...
I know, the price of eggs is ludicrous these days!
@@bassderek right...but the price from this device is absolutly ugly
I love the triggers.
Expensive 😢😂

Thanks! As a small starting channel I don’t have much choice but to buy everything I review and sell the stuff stuff that I don’t keep.

Everyone who says they're "pretty excited" for something never sound any different to any other video when they don't say it.
Was the. console not in a little bag or wrap or screen protector inside the box? It just sat bare like that?
Or did you already opened it and then omitted to tell us?
It was already opened. I have to get it all set up before filming.
Wouldn't it make sense to just add another thumb stick to where the touch pad is instead ?
Make sense? Maybe. Will they? Nah… 🤣

8gb is plenty all the way up to PS2 and GameCube and even some Switch.
@ Thank you so much!
Can i use this for old school RuneScape?
Probably? Not sure if the aspect would be weird or not.
@ that’s exactly my worry- could I somehow convince you to download it from the App Store and give it a quick try for me please? You will be my hero
Is this better than anbernic rg406v?
Well. Money no object, probably yes. Unless you want a real right joystick. For the price for what you’re getting? Thats a lot more subjective. Depends on what you want to play on it.
Yes, Switch games please!! 😅
I have the Ayaneo EVO coming in a week or so with the same chip... maybe I will save switch for that one.
Can use steam games on this?
No, it's an android device. You could stream with steam link from a PC.
Can I or more importantly should I run winator on this?
It should have the power for it. Might be a little cramped on the screen...

test switch and winlator
Bass Derek is rich.
Someone buy his onexfly
Rich... with friends and love? Money... ehhh.
People obsessed with 💰💰
Needs 2 joystick if it’s gonna be that powerful
