honestly the thing that helped me enjoy space missions the most was simply changing the soundtrack. you wouldnt imagine the kind of effect it has. i used to think these were so boring until i shut the music off and literally just put a starfox 64 playlist from youtube in the background lol
The PVE space missions are one of the most overlooked fun little side things you can do in the entire game At launch I leveled up faster than my friends doing these
I just popped into one of these again because they were in seasons. They really need to up the rewards for all these missions. I'd give all the base default operations 20-30 comms and a blue rep item. Then the heroics should be 50 comms and purple rep item
A great video, still the best space battle tip I feel is just not to bother. The rewards are middling, and the difficulty gradient is horrible, one of the worst I've seen in any mmo. Going from facerolling missions with haphazard gear to needing maximum upgrades to even make an attempt with absolutely no middle ground. Nothing about the non-heroic missions does anything to prepare you to take a run at the heroics. The only solution is to smash your face into the wall over and over until you get enough of the mission pattern memorized to know when you need to do exactly what. And the chance that anything will ever be done about it is zero; this content is too old and BS isn't ever going to spend any manpower improving the situation and smoothing out the experience despite the fact that they're still spreadsheeting space missions into galactic seasons. I feel incredibly for new players that run into this cluster-f, as well; obtaining grade 7 upgrades is not trivial for f2p accounts -- another poorly-thought-out pain point that's just as likely to turn off a new player as convert them. Honestly the community is lucky to have videos like these that do as good a job as they do in taking the edge off of things like this, and EA/Bioware/Broadsword are even luckier. I doubt they could possibly understand how many potential player abandonments have been and will be prevented over the life of this game because someone like you is did this kind of work.
You got it! I’d recommend combining your mouse and the strafe keys, as that can let you avoid attacks while still targeting missiles or torpedo attacks.

And in 2023, this video is still one of the best available. Thank you!
Clearing the Heroic Space Missions has long been on my to do list

Thank you for making this guide. I was going for the Ace title achievement and this definitely helped me a lot

Good info, thanks.

Tried practicing a few times since they've added it to GS, you're right. It's just not worth it.
You never played Star Fox on 64 I see.
@@pronewun5832 I grew up on StarFox 64. Knew all the secret routes and everything. Maybe I just had more time to practice / learn.
most frustraiting is there is no clear way to change keybindings for space missions :( ship is not strafing left and right with A and D buttons
figured it out. character movement turn right and turn left is actually your space missions strafes...

Where do I see my ship upgrades? Game update doesn't show it on "character" button anymore
It's not on your character sheet anymore, but you can access it from the dropdown menu at the top of the screen and it's called Ship.
@@dashenwen much appreciated 🙏🏼
