Another awesome job Cooosh! Been doin the Plague Master for a bit now and picked up some great nuggets here. When in doubt, DEATHFIELD!! 'So good. One extra tidbit for Madness players: double-clicking Deathfield may not work sometimes and this is due to the target being just outside your range (as the center of the Deathfield reticle) so you may need to manually place it instead (ex: You have to be just inside the outer ring in EV vs Soa to double-click apply but you can manually place it a bit farther back). Keep up the great work Cooosh!
I don’t play madness but I appreciate you making content like this for us. You have the best guides for swtor combat styles on UA-cam imo. Thank you Cooosh!
One tip others may appreciate, although I personally hate it: With perfect clicking, you can buff 2 Shocks with one Polarity Shift. You have to activate PS then Shock almost immediately, then perfectly click every ability until the next shock. You will notice the next Shock can be used right before PS runs out.
Hey cooosh I main sorc madness with plague master on star forge server. It's actually not force negative with plague master. Ive parsed 30k on the ops dummy 10mil without max gearing. The rotation I have is also extremely mobile meaning you do not cast force lightning 3-4 times in a row
Yeah, I've never noticed any "force negative" thing when playing Madness/Balance. Also, with a Plague Master build, you shouldn't ever be using Force Lightning 3-4 times in a row - that's only in the non-PM build.
yeah exactly! The build I have is suitable for pvp too. The only peeps beating me in parse in ops right now are snipers with the build for sorc madness I have lol again I have an extremely mobile build where you can move around the whole time minus two force lightnings but not back to back force lightnings
Would have been nice to include a dummy parse, otherwise decent guide. Pretty much the same Plague Master build/rotation Draemn & Vulkk put out quite a while ago. Only difference is, after Shock, they use Demolish first and then reapply the other dots. I don't know why they do it in that order, but like you, I started doing the dots before Demolish - just seems to make more sense to get the dots going again first.
Using Demolish right before shock is a dps loss, because Affliction and Creeping Terror alone do not consume all 15 Deathmarks in one rotation. You want those used up before Death Field is used again, hence why the rotation Coosh showed (and which everyone that doesn't get their information from Vulkk uses) Demolish, than 2 fillers and then Deathfield.
@@ExcelarionEntertainment "Using Demolish right before shock is a dps loss" - ?? I didn't suggest or say anything about using Demolish right before Shock.
Great video loving your content. I have been away from the game for a while now and looking to get back into it was wonsering are lightning sorcs no good now ??
Personally, on dummy tests, I find Lightning to be several thousand dps lower. For Operations, Parsely shows Madness at about middle of the pack and Lightning consistently near the bottom.
What do you think about creating guides for NiM Operations? I`m new player to the game and just reached lvl 80 and i dont really know the basic tactics for bosses.
This is something I've been wanting to do for a very long time! I have a friend who started a full video guide project for all the raids! It wont be hosted here but as SOON as they start to be posted I will make sure to share the website!
for the Critical Movement specc, couldnt you use another Lightning Strike jsut before the last Force Lightning leading into Demolish ? that way you would still get the four stacks for an instant Demolish and not end up clipping the last licks of the two dots ?
Looks like a slight dps loss by adding another LS. Probably because you end up delaying Death Field, Force Leech, and Demolish by one cooldown every time. (You should be using Plague Master anyway, it's noticeably higher dps 🙂.)
Yes, it's a dps loss to use Shock to detonate Demolish. This is because of a bug in mechanics. You have a passive at level 60 that increases Demolish's run time by 3 seconds. Shock mistakenly ignores this extra 3 seconds and detonates Demolish using the shorter run time's damage, so you lose the damage you'd get from that extra 3-seconds of dot ticks, meaning you get more damage by just letting the Demolish dot run its full course instead of detonating it.
First, make sure you're looking at the "Just Use This For Group Content Right Now" section on Vulkk, not the "Plague Master" section. There isn't any real meaningful difference in their rotations. Vulkk has Demolish right after Shock, then the other DoT's; where Cooosh has the Dot's first after Shock and then Demolish. It probably doesn't make a huge difference, but I would think it's slightly better to get the DoT's going first before Demolish.
im watching your rotation and watching your bar and it looks like when in the applying dots phase after demolish the creeping terror is getting clipped...is this suppose to be the case?
Yeah I personally like doing it cause then I don’t have to delay death field or force leech! I do know some folks clip a force lightning so they can totally apply a fresh creeping terror.
You have to clip them in order to maximize dps. Yes, it's typically "wrong" to clip dots in other combat styles, but the Madness/Balance combat style is kind of broken and poorly designed.
@@schlauchmeister234 thank you do you know just a regular storyline pve rotation or should i just follow his AOE one he talks about in the end of the video?
@@AdmiralHellShot You can use what he does with the AoE tactical, but for me, most PvE story is easy enough that I don't feel a need to change tacticals. If hitting multiple mobs, I just hit one with Affliction & Creeping Terror, use Death Field to DoT spread, and then a Force Storm will usually finish them off.
For solo stuff it's fine. For Op's, Parsely shows Lightning consistently near the bottom of all dps classes/specs with Madness being middle of the pack.
As for doing dps on a Sorc, it's far better than Lightning. Compared to all dps classes, Parsely shows it in the middle of the pack. I also think despite being average damage (compared to all dps), it makes up a lot having all the utilities that it has: self-healing, light off-healing capability, short cooldown cleanse, and a shield that makes you basically immortal for a few seconds.

Yes, it's a dps loss to use Shock to detonate Demolish. This is because of a bug in mechanics. You have a passive at level 60 that increases Demolish's run time by 3 seconds.
