Very well narrated, seriously! I've done the Bkk to Pattaya back and forth many times.. but always taxi, shuttle or bus, so I barely pay attention. This was interesting, I just knew it was a bit of a hassle with NO motorcycle signs, it's a BIT confusing. Curt in San Diego
Hi. Thanks for the video. I attempted the route last Friday but instead of taking the ferry off the 3113 I took a left and went over the first Bhumhibol bridge and then kept left onto Suksawat Road. I wasn't sure about taking the bridge but the local motorcycle taxi boys told me it was fine and there were other bikes crossing the bridge. On exiting the bridge the 303 takes you to the 35 that then heads south. Lot's of roadworks on the 35 made it a very dirty ride!
Tanks a lot, i am going to do this trip next month , but then from Hua Hin to Pattaya . I been looking for this kind of video long time .It will be great help for me
Really well put together video, nice one. I see there is another ferry across the river at Pak Nam Market, have you ever tried crossing there? Then go via the 3243 road to join up with the 35 in Samut Sakhon. I haven't done either but will be doing the trip from Pattaya to south Thailand in a few weeks.
@simpleslikethat hey if i set google maps for 2 wheelers from phuket to bangkok then will it take me to non restricted route for motorcycle or will it include restricted route ?
@@nuclear9977 where are you going to in Bangkok? if your using google maps there is an option on route avoidance for Toll roads...make sure you tick to avoid Toll roads..But even google can get seriously wrong in Bangkok...car and bikes:)
I've been all over Thailand on a bike except for Bangkok. I avoid Bangkok like the plaque. I never pay any attention to any signs at all. Are there other places in Thailand with signs that say no motorcycles??? I'm curious if I ever violated some kind of stupid rules.
Yea sorry to say I avoid bk like the plague as well only been bk once in the khason Rd area turned me right off maybe I was just in the wrong part of bk?? But once out of the city different story
Thanks for the info. Ill be doing this journey on a big bike very soon 25/10/2020 and will definitely try your route. How long did it take you to get to Hua Hin from Pattaya? I'm thinking about 4 and a half hours!
Thailand created a nightmare for bikes. I get it, the three wheel grandma selling carts, the barely running PCX scooters…okay, ban them. But any bike over 300cc should be allowed.
I plan to get a bike, but will Google Maps consider these restrictions when traveling with a motorbike? Also, how long on average to get from BKK to Hua Hin on a bike, because with a car it takes about 2 to 3 hours.
Get a decent bluetooth headset, connect to google maps, enter your bangkok location and click "directions". That is all you need to do, you dont need to count BTS stations or look at Thai roadsigns. I did the ride from Pattaya to central Bangkok, it was stressful, a shit road that I will never ride again, but I made it OK. Dont understand why anyone would try to convince you to do it any other way. I actually did it without a headset, just looked at the map most of the time and occasionally leaned in to my phone to hear the directions. Dont get this video.
always entertaining , well put together

My opinion anywhere in asia nothing better then to do a long road trip on a gd bike or car relaxing fun

YOU CERTAINLY KNOW YOUR WAY AROUND THAILAND BRO
Kind of surprised there is no ferry service that bypasses BK.
There are tons of fairies in Thailand…
Trick is to cross Bangkok from 4am and 6am (latest) 😂

I wanted to buy a big motorbike to tour in Thailand but because of this rule I will have to buy a car instead 😭
You’ll live longer…good choice.
