Short Takes: 2008 Chevrolet Silverado LT Crew Cab (Start Up, Engine, Full Tour)

  • Опубліковано 18 бер 2011
  • In continuation of my "Short Takes" video series at All City Auto, I give a tour of a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado LT. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this truck while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this truck designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

    Personally, this generation of Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra is my favorite of all. Because of it’s nostalgia factor and how both trucks look.

    I can't believe people think 100,000 miles is high miles. My step moms Chevy trailblazer has 369,000 miles and she still drives it to work everyday. Spark plugs and a water pump replaced so far.

    • @gmcdenali7178
      @gmcdenali7178 8 років тому

      bruteman45 It must be modded. The Vortec 5300s (5.3s) do 0-60 in about 8 seconds. The Vortec 6200s (6.2s) do 0-60 in the best I heard of- 5.8 seconds. Figure that.

    • @gmcdenali7178
      @gmcdenali7178 8 років тому

      bruteman45 That's the 2014-2016 Ecotec3 engine. They're pretty fast, but GM did a half ass job on them. They fucked up, they shoulda kept the Vortecs. And, them 5.3 Ecotecs ain't even that fast. The 376 6.2L Vortec 6200 (403 HP 417 Torque) can do 0-60 in 5.8 seconds in a crew cab truck with a 3.42 rear end. Them 5.3 Ecotecs can't do that, unless they're in a regular cab truck. The Vortec 6200 can do that time in a crew cab. And even though I said they ain't very good engines, the 6.2L Ecotec can do 0-60 in 5.4 seconds in a crew cab truck and 3.23 rear end.

    These Silverados are nice trucks. I like that you now get to choose between 2 different dashboards. The LTZ Silverados get the Tahoe dashboard, and the lower trims get the dash shown in this video. That was a good move on Chevy's part because a lot of people will opt for the LTZ trim to get the nicer Tahoe dashboard. I would buy the LT model because it is more affordable and somewhat nice. The basic dash works for me, because I use my truck for work, and the LTZ interior would get all messed up.

      You definitely don’t need a newer truck than this. Unless money isn’t a concern. 100k isn’t much for a truck. Modern gas engines and transmissions are made to be realistically 250k mile equipment but some last much longer.
      Also I personally wouldn’t buy a GM product but that’s just me. I’ve had great luck with Ford and Toyota in my company so I will probably keep it that way.
