I bought a 2006 Sequioa SR5 a little over 2 years ago and it was the best automobile purchase I have ever made. I've had no major trouble out of it other than replacing the alternator a few months back. The outside is in excellent shape, people think its a later model. It's a real head turner. Speaking of them holding value, I was sideswiped by a transfer truck back in march of this year and i just knew the insurance company was going to total it since it was older and had 240,000 miles on it ( still rides like a cadillac by the way ). The damage came out to a little over $3000 dollars. I was shocked when the adjustor asked me what body shop I would be using. I was thankful it was going to be repaired but I did ask him why it was't totaled. He said these toyotas really hold their value. I asked him what they valued it at and he told me $7,100! My jaw hit the floor.

One thing to remember is that on the Sequoia the SR5 is the base model so not surprising that it is missing some features. This particular one is especially stripped down as most SR5s still had leather heated seats, steering wheel controls etc.

If your touch screen goes dead in winter or summer you lose the ability to control the defroster, heater, and AC. Not good!
Hamza Amir Ok. In the Western US 05-07 Sequoias can be found in good shape for under 10k, it’s pretty much impossible to find a LC 03-07 for that price. The LX470 can sometimes be found in that range but all have the touch screen and fancy suspension. I assume your LC is from before 2003, all that I’ve seen from that year or later have the touch screen, you have to get it if you want the 5 speed, and converting it to manual HVAC and an aftermarket head unit is extremely difficult as far as I can tell.
Hamza Amir at that price I would probably choose the LC too. I own a Lexus LS400 and briefly owned an 03 LC. The quality was equal, World class , too bad Toyota did so much cost cutting with the Sequoia, it is a great truck on paper and beneath the flawed surface materials.

Mike C I would say it is, The reason it is so expensive is because it is so over engineered, everything is more than it really needs to be and it can last easy 25 to 30 years without you having to get another car.
The Sequoia V8 puts out 75 lb/ft more torque than the v6 in the 4runner, which is what matters most in a large SUV. This is also one of the reasons the Sequoia will tow more than the 4Runner.

Get an 05. I think they upgrade motor and tranny. Something along the line, I don't remember what, but check out a forum.

👍🏽... nice.
believe it or not the sequoia is more bigger and practical than the land cruiser while the land cruiser is more of a tough off-roader suv
@@Datsun7705 The LC has a better interior and is FAR superior off-road and is better built all the way around.
How come v8 Sequoia makes less power than the v6 4Runner
The new 4runner's put out more HP than the older Sequoia's but if you compare within year the Sequoia should always have more power.
@@DrivenCompanion thank you for the reply! Obvious in hindsight!
The Sequoia V8 puts out 75 lb/ft more torque than the v6 in the 4runner, which is what matters most in a large SUV. This is also one of the reasons the Sequoia will tow more than the 4Runner.
