I had my washer disconnected for months and it didn't want to work and this video got it working again. Thank you!! I'm happy I didn't have to call a repair man or customer support. For me, the lid lock light would be on so I left it open and the steps still worked.
I just found this video and the process is running as we speak. Praying this does the trick. The washing machine also hasn't been used or even plugged up in months🎉 Btw, it responded exactly like the video described ❤❤❤
Man if it weren’t for you posting the video I would have been without my washing machine until the service guy came back!! He’s been here twice doing repairs on my 2 month old 2-1 whirlpool. Apparently the bearings within the transmission was bad so he replaced the entire thing.. so far I am not happy with this washer.. thank you so much for doing what the repair man should have done while he was here.
This video saved my bacon. My asking machine isn't exactly like the one in this video, but it is close. There are only 5 buttons on the right, but I figured out the sequence and now my washer is up and running. Thank you!
this video was very helpful my wife and i are very greatful we been without a washer for months and we didn't know what do so again thank you for the help
My husband has fixed this washer 3 times already. Worse purchase ever, only 3 years old. Hopefully last a couple more months. But your video so helpful to reset it.
Ran a clean cycle...didn't think much about it...loaded up with clothes the next day, put soap in and everything....nope....dug everything darn thing back out...reset and so far so good, although the washer didn't run a 45 minute reset more like 1 minute. I'm thankful for this video, but I'm sad I don't have my 30 year old washer anymore. Thank you for the tips!!!! Before I forget, this is 7 months old, I have already had a service call, and I've had to reset it a few times. I'm glad I bought that 5 year warranty cause it looks like we are gonna need it 😅
Thank you so much for this video! Bought my washer in April, it died in June. Repaired 4 days go and I got to do 5 loads before the lid stopped locking! I was so excited that my washer did exactly what your video shows for the reset, locking and unlocking as you outlined. However, when I went to try a load, the lid would not lock. Oh well, back to the Whirlpool warranty repair part 2.
Thanks, I looked the code up and you are correct. The 6th wash load became unbalanced and was washer bucking so hard I thought it would hit a wall. The only thing I could think to do was press the start button to stop it. The lid unlocked then, but after reset, the lid clicks on/off immediately when I try to start a cycle. I am not smart enough to enter more codes - old lady who used to fix balance by opening a lid with no lock (Kenmore 1986 and still working like a champ) and moving the laundry around. I will have wait for the technician and hope for a quick. @@JosephGordon-ny6eb
Thank you! This really helped. Ours died after a power surge from power restoration after a storm. My daughter was washing during the storm and it wouldn't work after the power came back on. All the top lights were on and I couldn't get your reset method to work, so we decided to unload the clothes so I could drain it like you said. As soon as we unloaded, it started draining on its own! Crazy. I was able to to run your reset sequence afterwards (to be safe) and it's back to functioning as it should! Thank you again for the help! 👍 I was afraid our two year old machine was going to be expensive to fix. 😮
Worked perfectly after I replaced the lid lock. Which by the way instead of taking the entire wire off I only popped off the lod lock , flipped it over and removed the smallest backing piece and pushed plugged off of the board and then slid the plug on to the replacement lid lock unit and re installed. Took less than ten minutes and I by passed alot of work.
What lights were flashing in your washer? I’m trying to decipher my code. I have been unsuccessful. Mine flashes sense done and lock then it flashes just done. We replaced drain pump noticed a spliced burnt wire and I 🎉 thinking yes!! But no 😢. I don’t want to keep buying parts I’m not rich or I would have taken this washer over to whirlpool lit it on fire and gave them the finger. 16 months and this is what I get for buying new
My whirlpool had an error code F7E1 and I replaced the shift actuator like everyone said, still didnt spin. I replaced the capacitor and its working again so I recalibrated and its going fine. Thanks for the video!
How long did it take for the full recalibration to complete? In the video he said it would take "quite some time" but the lights on the washer have been flashing about an hour now. Can you help?
@bensappliancesandjunk thank you so much for your video! I had a similar problem with my dryer and there are no videos of this style of dryer. So, I followed your directions to the washer and was able to figure out that my sensory board was loose. I was able to fix it in 10 mins! Thank you! Thank you!
Wish they made washers like they use to. New Maytag washer didn’t even make it pass its first wash. GE washer needs transmission and bearings replaced after only 5 months. Front loaders don’t use enough water to actually clean clothes. Have to hack/modify a screw on water level sensor unit to fill with more water. All junk.

Because so many people are still attached to their ancient dinosaur top loaders that guzzle resources just to give an average clean. They’re stuck to the idea front loads clean worse because of less water but that couldn’t be any farther from th truth
I did the reset thinking that was the reason the lid would not latch. Did not work to cause the latch to work but all of the other things happened - the lights flashed and the machine ran. I figured there was an issue with the latch itself. So I unscrewed the latch from the lid and placed it into the latch mechanism. It latched and it appears it has to do with how the latch enters the latch mechanism. For now it works.
I appreciate the information the reset did not work. The lights soak, wash and done Keep flashing well after four minutes. I keep seeing comments about error codes. Where are the error codes displayed on the panel? My washer is not even two years old.

I get to the last step (where you said it took about 4 min to finish), but it just continually flashes from Sense -> Soak -> Wash -> Done. It did that from 5:30pm Sunday until 6:30am Monday morning, so I redid it again. What should I do if it doesn't finish recalibrating?

Thanks for the video Ben. What happens if the washing machine doesn't respond pass the initial 1-2-1-2? I've verified that it is receiving power properly.
Took me a few times to get this to work. May have to unplug, wait 1min, then plug back in. Make sure the dial can work and you can select things too in a separate test
@nenenene9744 so if you wash with warm or hot water, you'll be able to finish your cycle if you're in a pinch. Check your water inlet valve to see if there is any debris. Disconnect the washer power supply, shut water supply off from the washer, remove cold water supply hose, and just look at the valve. If there's debris, it either needs to be cleaned or replaced. That's where I'm at right now I sprayed compressed air into the valve and got my washer dispensing more cold water but it's not enough for a cycle. My next step is to remove it, clean it and see if it works.
I unplugged my unit for a few minutes. When I plugged it in, it is automatically in stand by mode. Just don't touch the power button before following the steps in the video

Lowes purchase plan Contractor just left and he didn't even do this. He just said he's going to place an order for a replacement.
Ok after the recalibration it's still blinking Sense, Done, .
What can I do from here?
Thank you so much for doing this video.
My claim was just approved apparently it's known to be an issue.
Called Lowe's appliance they said someone else with this machine had an issue too.
My washer is showing F7E1 code (tachometer missing or wrong signal) What is a tachometer and how do I fix it?
Shift actuator, I have multiple videos on it for other WP machines.
If you cant get this to work try checking the wires going to the motor. Mine just kept flashing for hours when i tried this. Turned out a wire had rubbed through and was arching
Nice video , these washers suck tho . Always something going wrong
I have the exact washer and it’s stuck on sensing and won’t do anything other than flash sensing
Ok so what happens when the lid won't lock after pressing 1-2 1-2? Anyone have the answer? Control board has flashing green light!
It’s been well over 4 minutes and it still hasn’t finished flashing. What do I do?
I got a question for the professionals ! I have several washers that once you hit the “start” button , it waits about 5 minutes then it will start filling with water . Can someone help point me in the right direction because we have others just like it and the water fills as soon as you press start. It’s a whirlpool with the 6 led lights
Recalibrate it using whatever method it needs. Often they go out of spec and take too long. That and make sure the water valve screen is cleared.
What fo it mean when washer does not lock
What happens when it is done? There are lights still blinking after ten minutes.
You figure it out ?
Thanks for the video Ben. What happens if the washing machine doesn't respond pass the initial 1-2-1-2? I've verified that it is receiving power properly.
Took me a few times to get this to work. May have to unplug, wait 1min, then plug back in. Make sure the dial can work and you can select things too in a separate test
@@bensappliancesandjunk Thanks, I'll keep trying!
After all that my washer keeps flashing sense, Done, lid locked. Should I try again?
Did u figure out what it was that's where I'm at? It's driving me crazy
I'm also having this issue. What temp water are you running?
I'm trying to wash in cold water.
Wash cold water
@nenenene9744 so if you wash with warm or hot water, you'll be able to finish your cycle if you're in a pinch.
Check your water inlet valve to see if there is any debris. Disconnect the washer power supply, shut water supply off from the washer, remove cold water supply hose, and just look at the valve. If there's debris, it either needs to be cleaned or replaced. That's where I'm at right now I sprayed compressed air into the valve and got my washer dispensing more cold water but it's not enough for a cycle.
My next step is to remove it, clean it and see if it works.
Do you have any used Whirlpool washers for sale? I'm interested in getting one, and how much will it cost to ship to the Caribbean?
It's going to cost more than the washer
@@bensappliancesandjunk 👍👍👍.
Whirlpool washer not draining well and not spinning.
How do i put the washer in stand by mode?
I unplugged my unit for a few minutes. When I plugged it in, it is automatically in stand by mode. Just don't touch the power button before following the steps in the video
Mine goes from sense to to how you fix that?
