My husband is a rocker. The man could literally fall asleep to SlipKnot. He has a spinal injury due to an accident years ago. It manifests itself as daily pain and nightly bouts with Restless Leg Syndrome. Some nights are worse than others, and tonight was one of those nights. He asked me to pick out music videos on UA-cam while he tried to relax. My taste in music is a LOT broader, so I was picking out all kinds of songs to help him chill. Then I cued up this video. I'm telling you, I WATCHED the knots in his leg muscles untie themselves. When the song ended, I had to wake him up and herd him to bed. He's currently snoring like a train, dead to the world, and it's music to my ears. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for making a song that can soothe even a hard-rocking truck driver to rest.
There’s a preacher on UA-cam that gives this blessing at the end of his videos: “May The Lord bless you May The Lord keep you; May the Lord’s face be made to shine upon you & be gracious to you May the Lord’s countenance be lifted up to you May you always know the peace of being in the Lord’s presence” Ma’am I don’t know if you believe in God, Allah, Jehovah, Buddha, Valhalla, the Force, or Flying Spaghetti Monsters. But I know that chronic pain is a beast to live with. And that the only thing harder than living with it, is loving someone who is living with it. So just know that somewhere in the Midwest is an old nurse who hopes you are doing ok, taking care of yourself, sitting in the sunshine on warm days, and looking to the stars on rough nights. If you ever see this message, I hope you feel hugged. 💜💜
I just heard a minister, a couple weeks ago, saying that the Lord is hungry for us. Harold said he is starving for you. Thank you for the beautiful story and song.
This song is a heart-tugger. I worked in a strip club for a couple years. Always had a full time job but the extra money was easy and helped. I learned more about life, and people, and grace there than I did in church. It taught me to be more non-judgemental and forgiving. Every person had a story. Every one of them were God's children. Thank you for the memory and refresher course in being kind. God bless you.
Dayum! I've photographed Pride gatherings, Metal bands , drag races, Biker runs, women's roller derby, and Latino lowrider gatherings and firmly believe that Jesus could stroll into any one of them, love the people, and have a good time. Ashley preaches the gospel we all need to hear.
Christ is everywhere at all times, in the midst of everything. He loves everyone, sinner and saint alike, but he is the fulfillment of the Law. The Law calls us to love God first and foremost- hard to do -, then love our neighbors as ourselves - also hard to do. We are to obey the 10 Commandments, to live with care and concern for the poor and marginalized, the disabled, unborn, the victim, the prisoner, to live chastely, not be given over to hatred, greed, lust or power or vengeance. When we stumble, He offers us a path to confess our sins and receive absolution. The greater our cross the greater our right to His Divine Mercy. He is Christ the King, Always and Everywhere, willing to walk through hell for us so that we may not be separated from the Blessed Trinity.
Stroll in? Yes Love the people? Yes Have a "good time"? NOT if the event was inherently sinful. Remember, Jesus rebuked sinners and INSTRUCTED them to STOP their sinful BEHAVIOUR AND THOUGHTS. Why do most people want so desperately to omit/forget that? Hmm.
@@pvmoore1154 yes, indeed. Thank you. This is the modern view of Our Lord, as the great affirmer, not Priest, Prophet, King Who saves us from our sin. You have reached a new level of greatness. The best songs are not written, they're lived and that's what makes them so great.
First time I listened to this I have goosebumps This lady is the real thing hope to see her someday
Wow! Thank you for telling us the story behind the song. I love the song the way it is on the album but there is definitely something magical about Ashley singing it acoustically. 👏👏👏
Great Singer

I like her stories that are real life. Good for her for telling them.
Going to see her perform soon, can't wait. She is the BEST out there.
God loves you Ashley
Amazing song, and the story behind it only makes it better.
Beautiful story of a song.
I was not prepared for how deep this would cut me to my very-much-not-Christian, queer-as-hell core, and make me feel seen and loved, lain here with tears rolling down my face. 🥲
Goosebumps here too. Spread that story everywhere Ashley, everyone needs to hear this.
Thanks for sharing this brother!
