I'm torn between the Gen 5 Glock 19 (highcap with larger mags obviously) $620 stock and the FN 509 tactical $899. I intend to tun an rmr, so after milling the price is almost the same. However, I do not intend to run a suppressor. Which one would you trust more? This will not be my EDC, more of a nightstand/vehicle weapon. Also range fun. I'm very proficient with the glock platform so I'm also curious on your thoughts on the transition to the FN ergonomics and the potential learning curve relating to muscle memory. Do you find the FN intuitive?

Isn't the "carrying handle" technically for barrel swaps between firing to keep barrel heat down? That still doesn't change the fact that you can't get your fingers between the guard and the handle but i thought carrying was the secondary use for it to barrel swaps?
Also, couldn't you just mount the handle in the opposite direction to have a full hand purchase on it since it would be above the barrel and away from the guard?
Zowie Smear It’s a great dot. Every bit as tough as the T2 IMO. The glass and parallax is a little better on the Aimpoint (MRO has a blueish tint), but almost double the price for same battery life (50k).

Just get a 60 round mag why would you get a 53rounder?

Most likely not a carry-handle, but a handle to safely operate the hot barrel during a barrel change (much like the HK 21).
I believe the carry handle is just meant for the quick barrel change so you dont burn your hand

My view on this is, it's a nice "light weight" option for a belt fed and as a non sot my plan is for a binary trigger lower with the belt fed upper

I was thinking the same thing. No way to hold a nut sack and the mag well leaves a lot of space for dirt to get up in there
