Had HK's in the past, have a PTR-9CT NOW. Like the PTR better due to sights, drop in ready, SBR ready, same performance, better case, U.S. made, no neutered parts, can't tell the difference w/ eyes closed...etc.

Would you ever consider doing a video on what is actually involved with becoming/being an SOT, and how someone might go about doing that if they were willing to jump through all the hoops. I know they're obviously plenty of guys where you can go and just read the rules on paper and what not, but hearing from someone firsthand what the process was like to get one, what the costs are involved, but the practical inconvenience is and that kind of thing I think would be valuable
I've never seen your channel but you seem very insecure about all your life choices. You complain people won't accept your tattoos or your purchase of a gun but you will never get a true audience like that and to be honest those gloves make you look much more like a criminal than tattoos would. Let people decide what they like and if they don't like you they will move on but people who do will stay.
Hey Sean, checkout the HKPro forums. TSC machine has figured out how to modify the bolt carrier to run f/a without any modifications to the receiver. They tested it out with HK94 bolt carriers but will be able to configure the original as well. There are a few videos of it already running on UA-cam.
I'm buying both, safe prom queen and biker chick. A decent factory job and two weeks overtime is the cost of an HK, (oh and bologna sandwiches) Great video BTW, liked and subscribed!!
Thank you for saying what needed to be said. Without question, I would go with the PTR 9CT and then spend all the money I would save on a brace, hundreds of dollars worth of magazines and ammunition (you know, so you can actually go have fun with the weapon on the range), or I would send in a form 1 to get a stamp for a badass silencer to twist on that sexy bitch. If showing off to people is so important, then I would caution those with that mentality to keep in mind that basically all of the cool points are lost as soon as you say "SP5" instead of "MP5".
I have a PTR-9c and an AP5-m. This video makes so much sense I can't help but watch it like rerunning a good movie. Keep your SOT, I hear it's hell gettin' one now. Semper Fi.
I’d take the PTR, and would treat it as you showcased here. They’re tools. Once you start getting that high in price, things change. Cool gun though for the nostalgia factor.
I think it's amazing that out of all the people on UA-cam you are the only one that seems to know these types of details or actually choose to mention them.
In all fairness, even ignoring the fact that some of them may be dishonest shills - though I think far from all of them has the most UA-cam channels that review guns are just basic normal day every guys. They don't have an sot, they don't convert machine guns and that kind of thing, and I know that their viewer base 99% of the time doesn't fit that profile either, so it's not really important to them.
Sean is Hack on a lot of bullshit as well. His shtick is to hate on higher end guns on the regular. Example he acts as though the bolt is just a "semi auto" carrier and not good because it's not a full auto carrier. The bolt is the newer F marked bolts that are made better and for crazy higher round count duration than the original. Then contradicts himself over and over. He has a lot of boot lickers, and equally if not more haters... like myself.
Now get the PTR91 K3P and you will have the best of the mentally delayed sickness. I went Zenith full size when Zenith imported good ones. Looks the same as the HK full auto and even had nicer welds.
Phenom Vid, Sir! I once owned an SP89 and foolishly sold it (and UNDERsold it, to boot!) and seriously regret doing so. The very shoddy & sub-par welds are inexcusable for an HK. Totally UNSAT. They should get their shit together if they expect to rake in that type of dough just for a "name". And not even being able to produce a new manual? Did Jews take over HK? This video reconfirmed my quest to look into a PTR. I have had my eye on that company for quite some time. And regarding whether something is "legal" or not...this corrupt Gub'ment does whatEVer the fuck it wants to, so why shouldn't We (The People)? Authority is an Opinion.
Dude take off the damn gloves !!! Really man be you man it’s why we like you. BTW thank you for making videos for us again. You buy and have bad ass guns and we love them ... cause I would literally have no money if I spent like you 😂😂
Sean, I have an opportunity to get a NEW, in the box, HK SP5 for around 1800.00. Would you still buy the PTR instead? I'm in the market for one or the other. Enjoy watching your reviews Btw!
18mar2020. Hey Sean, I am a new HK SP5 world. I can't get a straight answer about ammo for this specific gun. So, what ammo for target n defensive loads? Should I run with 9mm luger? Can this girl handle +P or +P+ loads n what ammo would you recommend? I know that I am not the only guy with this question. Thanks Sean, Ty.
I’m all in at $2300 for a SBR’d PTR 9ct w/ 6 genuine HK mags and a B&T side folding stock. Very happy I went with PTR and saved a couple hundred bucks to be well spent on ammo instead of fretting over the SP5.
Was just another comparison video to me until you started to sing and beat the PRT.. now I'm a subscriber! Oh, you don't need the gloves when you are doing a video for anyone that knows what you're talking about. I have a rr German MP5 made from a 94 and two Ralph/RDTS German parts kits MP5s. I'm a SOT also, going to serialize two pack housings for the two from RDTS. I agree totally with your comments and don't think I'm going to buy a SP5 unless a customer really wants one.
Took your advice and said meh whatever and went with the PTR. 1200+ rounds of 9MM NATO later and zero malfunctions with the gun itself... although I should note the (presumably) KCI made magazines the PTR shipped with were junk. Feed lips totally out of spec to the point where the bolt cycling would make the mags drop free. I though the mag catch or something was out of spec until I tried real HK made magazines without issue. Now time to spend a small fortune on good mags, but imo worth it.
I was curious and searched fpr the PTR and I'm seeing different version for 9mm like PTR9C and PTRKT. Which PTR is the one you're showing in the video? And what's the difference between the two version of the PTR?
I hate to be the nerdy " uhh but aaactualy" guy but 10 years is the maximum sentence for possession of an unregistered machine gun. Somebody with no record, not committing any other crime or anything shadey would very likely just get a few years of probation depending on whoever the federal prosecutor was. I've only read about a couple of cases, but typically its not more than 2 years and often times its just probation BUT you will be a felon with a FED charge and those are very VERY expensive and difficult to expunge so if you are a regular guy you might end up doing a couple of years and never be legally allowed to own any firearm again. So yeah, still a very bad idea. Also where are you gonna go shoot your illegal machinegun? You'd need to find somewhere very far from civilization to avoid people hearing RATATATATATA- RATA- RATATATATA and freaking out and calling the cops. Not to mention you'd probably freak the freak out everytime you drive around with it and just passed a cop to the point it would be so stressful you wouldn't even be able to enjoy it. Totally not worth it. It just mildly annoys me when people look up penalties and see "up to 10 years" and assume max sentences are always handed out.
So in other words (from an average Joes perspective), Why the fuck pay HK twice as much when I can get a PTR made to the same specs on the same TOOLING with better QC from PTR...
Speaking of unicorn guns: if and when PSA releases their mp5 variant, will you be acquiring and reviewing one? I'd love to see how it stacks up to an HK (and a PTR).
Dear God man, look at brethren arms for a few absolutely cock explodingly amazing roller locks. Their 10mm mp5 and their 300 blackout AR mag compatible pistol both come to mind.
I have Both the SP5 and SP5K as well. I am wondering about the PTR9 next so I have a shooter. The SP5K came with the 400$ HK scope mount. The SP5 comes with no mount. Will be interested to hear how ETS mags work.
Glad you did this video. I'm by all means satisfied with my PTR especially after finding out through research that they're built on the same jigs as H&k, plus they've modernized the MP5. Why pay more for less. I totally understand the H&k authenticity and it being an icon, but at the end of the day, I want to grab any one of my hardware and bust multiple "caps" and not worry about keeping a "safe queen" clean.
It's not really "sear ready". :( Glad they put the paddle on it, unlike the SP5K that I had to spend an extra $150 for. But I need some sort of mod to it for my registered sear. And I'm not marrying my sear to it for just shooting one freakin MP5. My PTR was completely sear ready and continues to run perfectly. The PTR k had to go back for mods to retain a magazine properly.
I do not care for HK at all. Its almost 2020 your telling me they haven't been able to bring costs down or even been able to produce enough to keep some in stores. Its become name and not much else at this point. Slapping that PTR around that was freaking funny
I just got an SP5 and not only did I get the SP5K manual, but it's the German one. As amazing as everything else is, that's pretty shitty quality control.
The HK is more precision made than any clone period. What I mean by that is the Flats are perfectly bent so factory Hk stocks fit perfectly without using a rubber mallet to install or remove plus if you change the bolt carrier , locking piece or bolt head for a factory Hk part your head space will barely change unlike using RCM or non German parts which have always dramtically changed my head space to where I had to use + or - rollers. I have had the PTR , MKE , Vector Arms and many HK,s and all of the clones had issues with hard to remove push pins and stocks that were hard to install and remove. I will say they all ran 100% with and without a sear pack except for the Vector arms clone which the trigger housing shelf was welded too low to trip the sear lever plus the flat was never bent right so the bolt was actually binding up in the rear of the reciever since I had to use a rubber mallet to install the A3 stock. I would rate the Hk #1 / MKE #2 / PTR#3 and all of the rest like Special weapons , POF or Coharie just a waste of time and money but that is my opinion after 30 plus years of HK,s and clones.
At 3k I wouldn't grab the SP5 over PTR or zenith. However I do get it half the price and no plans of dropping huge money for trigger pack so this is a no-brainer. And also idk if anyone mention but military arms channel confirmed from HK that sbr won't void warranty.
I'd be interested to hear how you were able to avoid filing the form 2 on the apc223 receiver. Do you not stll have to notch the receiver for the FA lower to seat? My understanding is that in order to qualify as a MG conversion device, it must be "drop-in" requiring no modification to the actual receiver - like an AR DIAS. Please let me know if I'm misunderstanding something, as I would love to be able to just form a FA bolt and retain the value of the rest of the gun.
Oh how I love your honesty. You just save me some cash. I was considering getting one of these as I love the MP5 but I think I’d rather buy some more suppressors or a few more B&T guns. Perhaps I’m becoming a B&T snob 🤷🏻♂️
Just thinking, if you wore white cotton type gloves the auto focus on your camera would work much better. You like to point out features, using your hands; I think you would have to dick around with finding the focus less. Ugh my hk looks way better than anything ptr has put out . Second most people are not gonna be able to run full auto . So yes the sp5 is a better value because if I go to sell it I’m gonna not only get 700 dollars for it ! Welds on my sp5 look amazing

Sean, I could give a shit less about all other gun reviewers. I refuse to buy a gun until I check to see if YOU have done a review on it, first! We all appreciate your honesty and no bullshit take on the “flavor of the week”! Keep it up, brother!
I also have the ptr 9ct. Like so many others it had problems. Loose magazine wobble, fte, double feeds, sent it back. Its better, but after that I hesitate thinking of this gun as a tool I'll stake my life upon. I think I'd have that sense of reliability in the HK, seeing as thats what they are known for. I very well may have both soon!
Sigh.. you arent turning your SP5 into a machine gun by drilling the front pin, and removing the rail. You are making it a machine gun if you pair it with a full auto trigger pack , you can even run a FA bolt with a semi-auto trigger pack. Please dont mislead people. There is a guy in AZ that will do the conversion for you.

Sholme main somo bomba ti doo boba jango nobody cares if you got the money buy it if you don’t be proud of what you got anyways most of you don’t ever put a 1000 rounds thru anything you buy anyways hash tag Rambo zombie killer 69 lol save the money and move out of your parent’s garage
I think you are the same guy who reviewed the FN 249S. You are very smart, something different and very entertaining .If it was not for HK you would not have the PTR. Yes name counts when it comes to being collectable.
Had HK's in the past, have a PTR-9CT NOW. Like the PTR better due to sights, drop in ready, SBR ready, same performance, better case, U.S. made, no neutered parts, can't tell the difference w/ eyes closed...etc.
I dont think its the tats that throw people off, i think its the blacked out tats... People wonder what they were and why you covered them.
Everyone was younger and dumber at some point in their lives, I just look at it that way...
What’s most important: your own self importance.
Hey Sean, checkout the HKPro forums. TSC machine has figured out how to modify the bolt carrier to run f/a without any modifications to the receiver. They tested it out with HK94 bolt carriers but will be able to configure the original as well. There are a few videos of it already running on UA-cam.
I'm buying both, safe prom
queen and biker chick.
My SP5 came with a larger but different HK branded bag.
Well, I guess I wouldn't consider a HK anymore lol. What do you think about PTR vs Zenith ? Same parts as PTR ?
Me too
I agree. I’d rather have a gun I can beat the shit out of, and the reproduction MP5’s are more versatile.
Why not all?
I own an HK, MKE, and POF.
I am curious how Zenith clones compare to this firearm?
Vladislavs Dovgalecs compared to the full auto HK from the FFL I could see no difference from my Zenith
Damn interesting video. I didnt know HK had to neuter the sp5 so much.
I have a PTR-9c and an AP5-m. This video makes so much sense I can't help but watch it like rerunning a good movie. Keep your SOT, I hear it's hell gettin' one now. Semper Fi.
why did you spend so much money on something that's like blub blub blub buh. Not for me hard pass.
Moral of the story don't waste your money on a SP5 just buy a Prt.. Thanks Sean loll
Want this gun.
Can afford it.
Can't buy it because I reside in a communist state.
Bummer.
If you are worried about voiding the warranty by putting a stock on it, that's pretty weak bro...
If you are worried about voiding the warranty by putting a stock on it, that's pretty weak bro...
Thanks for saving me $3000!! PTR for me!!
Well at least you upgraded your Gloves lol
I’d take the PTR, and would treat it as you showcased here. They’re tools. Once you start getting that high in price, things change. Cool gun though for the nostalgia factor.
I think it's amazing that out of all the people on UA-cam you are the only one that seems to know these types of details or actually choose to mention them.
Ryan Painter Most of the gun channels on UA-cam are just paid 3rd party advertisers getting paid for their reviews.
He has a lot of boot lickers, and equally if not more haters... like myself.
drewpert 15 So move on and don’t watch his videos, it’s that simple...
What is a SOT?
What is a SOT?
Now get the PTR91 K3P and you will have the best of the mentally delayed sickness. I went Zenith full size when Zenith imported good ones. Looks the same as the HK full auto and even had nicer welds.
You need to check out TSC’s video running the SP5 full auto with NO modifications to the receiver.
What is SOD?
Nice. I've been on the fence and this really helped. Does the PTR feed steel cased ammo?
I made it 43 seconds in. Is that a record?
Ouch, HKPRO forum members don’t like this review:
www.hkpro.com/#/topics/504656
Dude take off the damn gloves !!! Really man be you man it’s why we like you. BTW thank you for making videos for us again. You buy and have bad ass guns and we love them ... cause I would literally have no money if I spent like you 😂😂
I wish you didn't feel the need to wear the gloves and wish people didn't give a shit either way. I want any MP5 variant that is not .22 though.
Keep doing your thing Sean, nobody likes it.. fuck'em!!!! Merry Christmas to you and Whitney.
This dude is a fuckin opinionated douche that tries to hard to be cool. Yes, yes, bro...we all know you’re an SOT and have a “real” MP5. Cool, cool.
For all that money ..a plane brown paper box ? Not even a pelican case ?? And I'm a huge HK fan too
I had M.A.D. make a " licensed mp5 copy" way cool
As a POF owner...
Smack that PTR!!!!!
Reverse stretch master race!!!!
Just kidding, great vid man 🤘
Agree with you 100%. Thankyou for the info. Gun collectors will have a fit.
OMG I spy tattoos. Changing channels.
Own Ptr, mke-ap5, trading up to sp5 because I just can’t get over that indescribable hk thing.
Just thinking, if you wore white cotton type gloves the auto focus on your camera would work much better. You like to point out features, using your hands; I think you would have to dick around with finding the focus less. Thanks for the review, I like your straight forward approach with no BS, we get to know what you think about the reviews product.
Cheers
Ugh my hk looks way better than anything ptr has put out . Second most people are not gonna be able to run full auto . So yes the sp5 is a better value because if I go to sell it I’m gonna not only get 700 dollars for it ! Welds on my sp5 look amazing
Fuck the haters. It your body, you can do whatever you want with it. Same with money.
If you want the guns, buy em its your fucking money.
Most haters are just jealous. As stupid as it sounds
Man I was so happy to hear your intro. It pisses me off when idiots say irrelevant things about the video "what does that tat mean" "what food do you feed your dogs"
"ill wait til PSA comes out with one" or "I cant afford HK" blah blah blah. I used to watch MAC videos and salivate over his firearms wishing i could. but i worked my ass off and now own many of them.
I didn't search this video i search your channel and Check daily for new videos If people don't like your tattoos they can leave!
Anyone who had to search the video. Ahhh....
Old and Honest fans know why he packs extra Xanax Incase of a snowstorm!
Go out and shoot those guns outside of a 88* Lane in Seattle. *and not shoot your self in the foot* Let the Hamster get hot running!!!
Nobody gives af about tattoos you dipshit. Stop overestimating your own importance. Nobody is as impressed with you, as you.
As a person with a lot of showing tattoos I more than understand. Further more it’s your money so fuck every hater that negativity comments on your vids. You have taken the time out of your day to inform us about this firearm so thank you we should all appreciate it. I don’t know if you do this but I would love to hear you thoughts on the up coming Washington state gun laws and threats as well as the situation in Virginia. Thank you for another great vid and keep them coming!!!
