Agreed this video is basically saying keep everything the same which is kinda dumb in my opinion I think they gotta rearrange the D core and the forwards including the Panarin line panarin Mika Laff should be the 1st line
I don't believe the line combos are the problem. They were out played and out matched physically by Florida. That is a mindset issue.Has to be fixed this season in order to win the cup. - Darius
Bottom line here guys. What needs to happen to grab the cup is as follows. Chytil needs to be healthy. Kakko needs to step TF up!!! Miller needs to start using his size and speed. Someone needs to wing with Mika and most importantly Truba needs to be the Truba from the first year we signed him. Clean clock knocking hits. We can’t get these things to work right then we’re done. Yes we’ll have a good regular season but it won’t matter post season if these things don’t happen.
It's at best: a lateral move. Carrick has yet to prove he's as good as Goodrow, in all aspects of the game, in which Goodrow excelled at. Including scoring multiples of big goals, in the playoffs. So, we'll have to see how that goes. Goodrow was a good Ranger. Grossly under-valued, because of his contract. Carrick has some big skates to fill. Otherwise, our Rangers have gained nothing in terms of physicality and toughness, on the top two lines. Jones has skill, great speed and high end skating abilities. But small and physically ineffectual. Defensively, he's still gonna' get pulverized, out-muscled and exploited. Nothing has improved in terms of physicality and toughness, on defense. If those top star players we not inspired and motivated: from watching Rempe, Trouba, Goodrow and Cuylle throw their bodies around, this past playoffs; I highly doubt Carrick affects them, whatsoever. Unless Laviolette experiments with throwing some big boys up there with them ( i.e. Edstrom, Cuylle, Rempe, Carrick): the top two lines will have the same 'ole problems, all season long and in the post-season. Opponents across the league ( but especially in our division and conference): have known how to beat the top two lines down, for several years. That's why their 5-on-5 production is abysmal. Unless we get a huge jump on D, from big boys Mancini or Harpur. Or maybe Matthew Robertson will suddenly transform into a massive monster, on D. Not holding my breath. Attitude, mindset and a culture of toughness: has to be a complete, cohesive team commitment.
@SamWesting They should have traded Chytil, to one of several teams that simply needed contracts / bodies to reach the Cap minimum. That would have given them even more Cap flexibility, as well as roster flexibility. Chytil's a $4,437,500.00 Cap hit. On a team very short on warriors. Especially a warrior who scored HUGE goals, in this post season ( while playing great in his role); getting rid of Goodrow was foolishness. Chytil and his contract are albatrosses. He'll be injured by game 5 of pre-season.
In my opinion as long as you have a weak GM this team will continue to suffer. Draft picks as a giveaway leaves them nothing in the future to draft. GM is the issue and needs to be removed.
Trouba and Miller need to be split. Miller/Schneider, Trouba/Jones

@@bobbyganoosh929 they will never split Kreider and Mika, it’s like they are inseparable.

@@RangersDigest I agree, keep the lines the same, play better.
@@RangersDigest Trouba is too slow and miller has to cover for him, Trouba was much better with Gus and Jones plays a similar game
Totally agree. Need to get nastier especially in the playoffs. Got manhandled by Florida got Manhandled in 2014 by LA.
yes, well said ...
@@rogerzotti1 been a Ranger fan since 1969. Would like one more cup before I go……

So, at BEST, they are the same team that got pushed around in the ECF.
The Rangers need to be more physical. When the moment calls for it.

One thing Carrick has over Goodrow: a MUCH MORE affordable contract, which gives NY added room for roster flexibility.
