Also, Kyler's shorter probably, and still takes shots down field. Bryce doesn't. Like people don't understand that a lot of stuff from college doesn't translate. It's easy to put stupid numbers in college when you have an o-line full of 5-stars and a star studded supporting cast, while being under Saban. Everything "good" about Bryce Young is only possible if has a top-5 o-line (which, ironically enough, his current O-line is playing like; least pressured QB in week 2, btw), low-level competition relative to NFL talent, and great receivers. Bryce Young sucks; if he didn't play for Alabama, we wouldn't even know his name.
Bryce Young is just too small, and doesn't have enough physical talent to make up for his small frame. He's basically Johnny Manziel 2.0, and was overhyped because he went to Alabama, while Stroud was being underrated because of the stigma surrounding Ohio State quarterbacks.
I'm surprised these analysts are talking about his confidence. Young is 5'9'', 175, with no elite athletic traits and a well below average arm. He has to stand on his toes at times in games to throw over the line. He just doesn't have the physical traits to make it in the pros. It's not his fault. Great college QB though!
I never understood why he went #1 overall let alone why Tepper wanted him so bad. I looked at his intangibles out of College and it didn't translate to the NFL at all. Sure he had great college stats... on a team that probably attracts more NFL talent than any other team in the nation (Bama). I said he was going to bust the day he was drafted... and it was a VERY easy prediction to make.
This is why as exciting as college football is, you have to take most college players with a grain of salt. Playing against grown men with families now.

Bryce Young should NEVER have been starting last year. He needed a year to learn. It’s ridiculous the poor situation they put him in. They set him up to fail.
I got to disagree. You can get it back at both positions, but CB doesn’t compare to a QB’s loss of confidence. That’s like saying a safety or linebacker can’t get their confidence back. I know corner is one of the most important positions, but it’s not the same and this was a silly take.
@@KingCarolina_first of all I can tell you've never played because if you think a broken player can just get fixed youre crazy. @@KingCarolina_Bryce can get it back… just not with the Panthers. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets the chance with the right system, he’ll show why Tepper was so determined in drafting him #1 in the first place.
Deonte Johnson from the Steelers. Alan thielen still decent. They don't have the best weapons but this dude cannot throw the football. His arm is not strong and he just doesn't have the vision. The head coach last year for the Panthers was begging the team to draft CJ Stroud and they didn't. The Panthers are trying to act smart they thought they were getting Drew Brees. This guy's just not good at all.
His height has minimal to do witn his struggles. He wasn't playing behind a bunch of 5'5 O linemen at Bama. He played in a pro style offense behind a prototypical NFL sized o line, In the SEC which has the most players drafted in NFL.
Exactly. Very thoughful comment. No one said he struggled to see over the line in college. His problem seems to be that he is no longer in the shotgun with 3-5 seconds to throw the ball. Skills don't erode that quickly.
It has something to do with it, when he's bunny hopping on a 1/3 of his throws man. He also can't run a 4.4 like Kyler can, so he doesn't have the elusiveness to get out of the pocket, neither does he have a good arm. So, what are you left with? An under-sized QB with poor footwork, who holds onto the ball far too long, doesn't trust his receivers enough to throw it to them when open (especially down the field), and someone that cannot make pre-snap reads. If he did not play for Alabama, we would never even know his name.
@@curqo9711 1). He has great elusiveness. He was known for his mobility at Bama and he has shown flashes of that in the NFL. 2) Bryce doesn't have a cannon but neither does Brock Purdy and he's doing pretty well. 3) Reading the field is currently a struggle for him right now but it's one that most young QBs deal with. Peyton Manning threw 28 ints his rookie season which is the record for the most by a rookie QB in NFL history. Bryce threw 10. He'll be aight
@@CSmoothh 1: He had great elusiveness for a college QB who faced less-athletically gifted defensive linemen. He has not shown any of that elusiveness in the NFL and will not do so either. 2: Yes, but Brock has the ability to time his throws well, isn't afraid to take shots, and can see over his offensive line. He's also accurate when it matters. 3: Reading the field is an issue for rookies. Face it; he has more interceptions than touchdowns. He's also fumbled the ball 11 times last year. Peyton threw 28 ints in his rookie year, yes, but he had upsides. He had a great arm, he showed flashes. He also threw for 26 touchdowns. 2 and a half times more than what Bryce Young has thrown. Peyton also had less fumbles in nearly 3 years put together than Bryce did his rookie season. No one asked Bryce to be a star his rookie season, just show flashes. Bryce has not.
The NFL needs to go back to developing young QB’s for at least 1-2 years. Cause this is ruining good talented athletes. That’s making them look bad. Carolina is at fault here for not building around Bryce. If they look the same after benching him then what will be the reason then?horrible treatment!!!
Do you think Cj would have had the season he had last year if we drafted him? I personally don’t think so. If we would have drafted CJ everyone would be saying we should have drafted Bryce!! We drafted a young QB and his number one WR was a seasoned Theilen. N NOOOOOOO O-LINE
It was not Frank Reich and his staff who drafted Bryce Young. My understanding is Panthers owner David Tepper made the call to make the trade and get Bryce Young.
I promise if Bryce was on a team like Minnesota, San Fran, or even New Orleans, he would be much better. I know that he sucks, but the Panthers really did not do much of anything to build a roster around him. Trading for Diontae Johnson to be a #1 receiver isn't help.
I'm sorry, I respectuflly disagree. You see, the QBs that actually play for those teams can do something Bryce Young can't. Well, two things. One; read defenses pre-snap and get the ball out in a timely manner. Two; see over his offensive line. I can only watch Bryce Young bunny hop on a 1/3 of his throws so many times before I begin to realize an unathletic, 5'10 QB with minimal mental skills or instincts, is a bad combination for an NFL QB. To be a successful NFL QB, you have to do at least something "good." Preferably multiple things. Bryce just doesn't do anything right. At all.

I was told I didn’t know football by Joel klatt when I said the reason this kid won’t be successful in the NFL is because he holds the ball too much, and it’s easy to do when you have 7 to 8 seconds to sit in the pocket behind a college O-line……if you go back and watch the tape, all those spectacular throws he made in college was because he held the ball for forever until a receiver got open, and you’re just not going to be able to do that in the NFL, kinda like what I said about the kid in Chicago……if you don’t develop these kids and expect them to just step in and be gamers you’ll be disappointed everytime, guys like mahomes, burrow, and Allen are far fewer in between these days, you’ll miss out on some good developmental guys if those are your expectations
Their is no improvement at all in a terrible situation. Young needs to a change of scenery, go be a backup with the Rams, 49ers or Chiefs and learn for 2-3 years as a backup.
If Carolina is going to get the right call for a QB and have success in the near future i would start calling the Manning family about Arch and give the fans what they want. That is a winning culture. And yes it will take a couple of years for him being drafted in the NFL.
If anybody watched Bryce Young play last year and then the last 2 weeks you'd know the OLine wasn't the problem and the WR's weren't the problem either. Bryce was missing open targets and had plenty of time to throw behind the OLine. The OLine was not the problem. Bryce has struggled horribly and most people who root for Carolina are happy he is benched. Bryce Young sucks; if he didn't play for Alabama, we wouldn't even know his name.
@@curqo9711 that’s the case then say the same about Tua Jones and Hurts then
Bryce Young is just too small, and doesn't have enough physical talent to make up for his small frame. He's basically Johnny Manziel 2.0, and was overhyped because he went to Alabama, while Stroud was being underrated because of the stigma surrounding Ohio State quarterbacks.
Kyler Murray plays tennis?

I will say that both Baker and Darnold looked bad in Carolina, and now they look better.

The QB position is like the CB position if your confidence is broken you can never completely get it back especially on the team that breaks it
I got to disagree. You can get it back at both positions, but CB doesn’t compare to a QB’s loss of confidence. That’s like saying a safety or linebacker can’t get their confidence back. I know corner is one of the most important positions, but it’s not the same and this was a silly take.
@@KingCarolina_Exactly
@@KingCarolina_first of all I can tell you've never played because if you think a broken player can just get fixed youre crazy. Your teammates can see it, theyll attack it in practice daily and they'll see it in the film room. Players also talk to other players so when the struggles continue in actual games the teammates wont have that players back because they knew it was coming and worst of all they won't hide it so confidence wont come back from that
@@KingCarolina_Bryce can get it back… just not with the Panthers. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets the chance with the right system, he’ll show why Tepper was so determined in drafting him #1 in the first place.
the Bears and 49ers broke this franchise so bad
No. David Tepper did.
How'd Baker and Darnold do there? He needs a change of scenery but he is nfl caliber

They literally did. The organization is just awful. Still not solely his fault. But there’s weapons….
Yes they need more weapons but he is also just a horrible QB. If you put any top 10 QB on that team they would definitely be better team
Ryan Clark looks like he’s on NFL Live at 3 and fighting the Redcoats at 4
His height has minimal to do witn his struggles.
Bryce has not.
bryce dung having to jump to throw over his line 😂
The NFL needs to go back to developing young QB’s for at least 1-2 years. Cause this is ruining good talented athletes. That’s making them look bad. Maybe teams should play young QBs in the preseason after all.
yeah that's got nothing to do with it. Bryce genuinely stinks
Damn
I promise if Bryce was on a team like Minnesota, San Fran, or even New Orleans, he would be much better. I know that he sucks, but the Panthers really did not do much of anything to build a roster around him. Trading for Diontae Johnson to be a #1 receiver isn't help.
No he wouldn’t…those teams have a quarterback! Stop with the what ifs
At all.

Carolina should of drafted CJ Stroud or stayed at 9 to draft another QB cause Bryce wasn't ready to start in the NFL.
