This is a FANTASTIC video Ana :-D from pollinating to harvesting, and I was so excited to see you pollinating your cactus Parodia beauties, its so much fun to play the Bee haha :-D and we are buzzing ( excuse the pun haha ) with all the incredible seeds you gifted to us and so excited to get sowing them very soon, its so brilliant that you shared the harvesting the seeds too, we have our Echinopsis and Rhipsalis and Epiphyllum 'Mrs G Bheam' seed pods ripening up and we will be keeping the seeds to send you, thank you so much for sharing this wonderful video Ana, and Hans and I are sending you lots of love and happiness and CAFFEINE and PLANT POWER to Las Vegas for a plant powered weekend ahead XXXX
Very nice harvest. I love those kinds of cactus. So pretty. Mine aren't doing so well but I may have gotten bad ones to start with. As for seed pods taking months, my Gymno fredirchi has 3 fruits and they are still green. Seems like it's been more than a month and it's taking forever. I keep them inside because I don't want something to happen to the fruits outside where they were. The cactus bodies have turned green from that. They used to both be pretty red ones. Hope they will rippen soon so I can harvest and put them back out to color up.
You are so we'll educated on your passion! It's wonderful learning from you. I just picked up a cactus from Lowe's and it's soaked so I've been watching some of your videos to prep myself to save it. 😊 Well done!
Wow!!! That is quite a load of seed!!! Just think of how many potential plants are there!! Good idea letting them dry on the plant!! Very impressive yield!!! Great video Anna!!! From Morris park in the Ozarks , have a great weekend!!!!
Very nice, Ana! 😍 parang water colour brush yan gamit mo. Pollen stuck to it like magnet. I love Notocactus/Parodia buinungii. Very interesting spination and colour. Kakainggit ang mga seedpods mo. Ang dami! 😍🥳
Great video Ana. I love the dry seed pods where the seeds just fall out without having to mess with all the pulp. Looking forward to harvesting the seeds from my asterias, they’re getting biiiiig! Thank you for sharing with us as always Ana, from Edith & myself, have a wonderful weekend 😊☀️🌵🌸🌼🌺🏜☕️
Glad you did this video Ana 🏵️🌵☕... very educational.. And beautiful flowers..Ana have you ever seen or heard of the monkey tail cactus? I saw one a man from Mexico had...It was over 2 feet long.. have a wonderful day 🏵️🌼👍❤️🌵🖐️
Dami nyan pag sinow. Kaya ung sakin pamigay ko lng.
I have not tried it as I always have at least 2 that are flowering at the same time. But one of my viewers said, it can be pollinated by itself (same plant).
Hi Anna .... Question for you .... how about the cactuses that bear fruit? Would they have seeds in them? I will try to pollinate like you did. Thank you for you knowledge. ❤️❤️❤️
Parodia cacti in this genus are very self-fertile and looking at your stigmas they have pollen on them most likely from insect activity. Try to cross them as soon as they have opened when the stigma is clean of pollen to increase your chances of an actual cross and not self-pollination. Nice video
Some cactus are self-fertile and can form fruits even by itself. Fraileas are such and so is the Echinopsis mirabilis. But most need cross pollination with the flower from another cactus plant.
Hello i have a question i have bought seeds from the internet i have put these on the soil and ad little water and put it in sunny place several times but nothing grew,i must have been doing something wrong
Planting cactus seeds is a little different. You have to keep the soil moist all the time and keep the humidity very high. You can achieve this by covering your pot with a clear plastic. Seeds need a lot of moisture and some heat (not direct sun) to germinate. 🙂
maybe a stupid question, but is it pointless to attempt pollination between 2 flowers growing on the same cactus ? I don't have multiple cactus of the same type...
Pero up to now broken hearted pa rin ako sa nangyaring yon 😢 Stay safe. God bless us ♥️
Naku, I’m so sorry that happened. Pero we learn from experience. Also marami na ring videos sa UA-cam that can teach us. 😃👍🏼 Good luck po.

Thanks Natty! Emptying the seed pods when they are dry can be so therapeutic.

But I sowed some of them also.
Same with Gymnocalycium fruits po, easier to clean when completely dried haha
Hello Ana, watching here in Davao de Oro.
Salamat po. I miss durian shake! 😉
@@CactusCaffeine thanks sa heart, likewise, I am also craving durian nowadays.
Fantastic....
Super helpful! Thanks a ton! :D
Beautiful flowers. Can parodia bungii produce seedpod with self pollination?
I have not tried it as I always have at least 2 that are flowering at the same time. But one of my viewers said, it can be pollinated by itself (same plant).
@@CactusCaffeine thank you for the information 😊
This is pretty amazing
Pople BackyardFarm it is fun! I hope you get to try it, too!
Salamat po!!
Wonderful, !!!👏👏👏
Hi Anna .... Question for you .... how about the cactuses that bear fruit? Would they have seeds in them? I will try to pollinate like you did. Thank you for you knowledge. ❤️❤️❤️
Mila Bradley yes! Cactus fruit and cactus seed pods are the same. 🙂
Very helpful!!! Thank u

Thank you for that tip.
Great video! I would like to ask if it is okay to Pollinate only one cactus?
Some cactus are self-fertile and can form fruits even by itself. Fraileas are such and so is the Echinopsis mirabilis. But most need cross pollination with the flower from another cactus plant.
this was much help but where do you get the pollen do you buy it?😅
I get the pollen from my own flowers. I cross pollinate my cactus flowers whenever I have at least 2 of the same genus in flower.
Very impressive! How can I get some seeds ❣️
I don't have the same type of cactus to pollinate with, can I use a different type of cactus? Or is it best to self pollinate?
Chances are higher if you pollinate within the same genus. That is both are for example Parodia or both are Echinopsis, etc.
Me too!!🌵
wow!😍
Love big like
Can we save the broken cactus flower one was about to bloom it broke due to my mistake
I saw it done to an Echinopsis (long stem) but only if it is about to open in like a day. Sorry for the late reply.
Can I pollinate flowers from the same plant?
Some are self-fertile so you can do that. While others require pollination from flowers of 2 different plants. 🙂
@@CactusCaffeine Thank you so much! Love ya vids❤🇵🇭

@@CactusCaffeine i have a growbox but i think i gave to little water
So you can pollinate with the same species?
Absolutely! 😀 You get the same plant.
@@CactusCaffeine I have two same gymnocalyciums can I pollinate them will they be successful
Are they all the same species?
In this video yes. But you can cross pollinate some cacti easily, different species
I would like to buy cactus seeds from you.. ?????? Im from sri lanka.
maybe a stupid question, but is it pointless to attempt pollination between 2 flowers growing on the same cactus ? I don't have multiple cactus of the same type...
You can always try. Some cacti are self fertile so you may get lucky. 😉
Here in Las Vegas Nevada. 😂😂😂. Ano raw
