A spooktacular card! Love your mix of products, and I agree with your wish for more Halloween card making products. Halloween is definitely turning into a favorite holiday. As a kindergarten teacher it was one of my least favorite holidays. The kiddos were so wired due to candy for breakfast, lunch, dinner & snacks! Now that I'm retired I make cards & decorate my house inside and out! I'm enjoying your videos.
“I know just enough to be dangerous” is the story of my crafting life. I love Hocus Pocus for non scary Halloween movie and Army of Darkness for B movie horror/comedy.
I also use memento for use with alcohol markers. I use versa for use with watercolours. You basically use the opposite type of medium. Dye ink for alcoholic ink and pigment ink with water colouring. Dye ink reacts with water, alcohol inks will move your pigment ink.
Ralph, doing "all this" is a full time job. Filming, editing, creating, crafting. You are doing an awesome job and I get the I'm a fun professional vibe. love the cards today. You are off to a great start.
I loved Hallowe'en when I was little. Our tradition was to dress up and go into people's houses and entertain with a song/poem/joke in exchange for food (not sweets) but American trick or treat has taken over 😢 I like the way you work it out on camera. 🏴
I am definitely not a great alcohol marker user but when i do I use clear embossing powder over the black stamped image. That way you wont have to wait for the ink to dry or risk smudging. Its nice to hear a male point of view for cardmaking. Thanks for the fun cards!
I have watched all 3 of your videos. Mostly a scrapbooker but started paper crafting by making cards and still enjoy making them. Yes I do send Halloween cards and my sister in law collectes the Dept 56 Halloween Village. I have really liked your videos and always learn something. Can't wait to see what is next.
I have used Memento Tuxedo Black for years...never smears. I use Versafine Clair onyx black for wording. Check with all the stamping greats for ideas. I am glad you spread the love by using different company products. I want to keep them around !! Glad you joined the group ! Cards are great and you look like your having the fun we all need !
Super cute Halloween card. My fave Halloween movies are Hocus Pocus and Scream. But as a tradition, I always watch Rocky Horror Picture Show and as and end to the day, I put on The Crow. ❤ Great way to end the Halloween day and great start to my birthday. 👻🎃
@@ralphtyndall 😲OMG no way! lol My boyfriend never saw it either til I put it on for him to watch. It's a cult classic. The music is catchy as hell. lol Watch it once, I feel like you will be creating more beautiful cards while chair dancing to it! 🤣😂
Halloween is also my favorite holiday! No one seems to send Halloween cards anymore, and it's so sad. Love your card and your love for the craft. Back off Christmas, it's Halloween's time to shine. 🎃 🧙♀️ 👻 🧟♂️
I was told by more experienced cardmakers than i, that memento is good for alcohol ink coloring. This is a great card. I'm not too into Halloween cards but this inspires me. Thanks for sharing.
How could anyone NOT Love you??? I See you and I most definitely appreciate you Ralphy, a great job, the card (just like you) looks fabulous, lots of love & Best Wishes from UK XXXX
@ralphtyndall You're very welcome. I really admire people that leave their boring, repetitive jobs and persue the ultimate goal, to work for yourself by doing what you love to do. That is the dream of many people out there....me included, BUT it is a fine line between turning your hobby/passion into a full time career and also being practical in terms of finances: it may be a boring & mundane job but it guarantees a regular wage to pay the bills and the roof over your head. It's a mental tug - of - war that I have been fighting. Maybe in a couple of years time it may be feasible but for now it's working the boring & mundane job that wins. "Don't worry about being perfect", you say as you're meticulously cutting out with perfection😂😂😂 The one thing I hear over and over again on all of these channels is; "This is not Hallmark, it's handmade".
so glad u quit ure job. ure in your happy place designing cards :) pls post the envelope and magnetic sheet set u use for stamp/die storage. thank u! great crafting!
Ralph, I had the pleasure of watching your fun and inspiring, with what I believe to be your first UA-cam video a couple of weeks ago. I'm a big fan of Cathy Zielske as well. I know she's gotta be so proud of you, as are the rest of the crafting community you are now a part of. Congratulations!! I will look forward to watch you grow and thrive doing what you actually love to do! It's the best! Lots of luck and great success!
Love this card! I'm from Connecticut (the small state just under Mass) and have been to Salem many times. Its a wonderful place for any Halloween fan to visit any time of year.
It's funny you said about getting Halloween cards. It is the ONLY holiday I send cards for. :-) I'm not sure what that says to my friends but I don't much care. Great card!
My favorites for black ink has become Gina K amalgam obsidian for alcohol and watercoloring (unless its no line and then I use distress ink vintage photo) and I like Altenew pigment ink also in obsidian for sentiments or super dark black stamping (so I sometimes keep the stamp in Misti to restamp in the Altenew after coloring). Good luck with your journey in cardmaking!
Hi Ralph! I was watching CZ tonight and she shared your name and showed a card that you sent her!!! So cute. I really enjoyed your 2 videos and can't wait to see more!!! I loved all the elements you put onto 1 card! Thank you, I am super happy that I have found you!
I like the mix and match of companies. In Tim’s video yesterday he showed how to extend a die cut while using the same die. Just a thought. Great card.
This card is so cute. And I love the little Halloween villages. I don’t own any pieces but I will start collecting now that my son is getting old enough to not break stuff lol
Halloween in July? Here for it! Momento Tuxedo Black is good for alcohol marker coloring since it’s water-based and won’t reactive with the marker alcohol.
@@ralphtyndallWelcome to the cardmaking world and UA-cam! I'm very happy you're here! I agree 100% - Momento Tuxedo Black is all I use for alcohol markers and it never lets me down. I'm also probably one of the very few people who doesn't like Versafine. BTW - Halloween is my fav too 😁
I love how much information and insight you put into your videos! You can really tell how much you care and love what you do! I’m glad you made a UA-cam so I can continue to learn from you!
REPLY to RALPH ... Our kiddle had one "in the day", but WE found them to be great decorations along our entry sidewalk for Halloween. We cut out the bottoms and maneuvered them over the "Malibu Torchier-style" walk lights ! Worked great! But they did take up a lot of space in the garage to house them out of season! Thanks for the memory recall!! P.S.: Great fun watching your creations unfold (oops ... unintended pun there!)
Halloween is my most favorite holiday too! I originally come from Conn. and visited Salem many, many times! It is quite an awesome day, for sure! Great card!
Amazing video!!!! Please continue to make them I love the way you showed us exactly how to create this beautiful card!! I would also love to see more embossing cards.
You've used wonderful supplies. Most people mix and match their supplies. You're not too early, it's never too early. Halloween isn't a thing in the Netherlands, but I still made some home decor pieces because I love the autumn colour scheme and the Halloween imagery. I may be tempted to make a few cards for my children.
I love Halloween too. I am far behind in my card making bc I am moving to Panama in Central America. As people said in your first video, your explanation is clear, you have a great voice, your pacing is excellent, and it's calming/soothing to watch you. I am awfully glad you aren't trying to sell a particular company's product and you share the wealth showing how various brands can seamlessly blend together. Great job & card. Thanks for sharing.
Great card Halloween is no big here in NZ but I do remember carving pumpkins as a kid in England. For finer splatter try a fan brush it will make smaller stars.
Awesome card! I made 15 Halloween cards last year for a nursing home. I am sure I will be making that many this year as well. Thanks for the fun card idea! I have the fence. My daughter is a big Halloween person, so she get many Halloween stamps. I borrow hers to create the cards for the nursing home. It is more fun that I thought it would be. My favorite ink I use for alcohol markers in Memento Tuxedo Black or sometimes Gina K Black Onyx. It looks like you did well with the Versafine.
I never send a halloween card BUT i love halloween, so i make them anyways. Also good for scrapbooking. So fun! Thanks for sharing! Gina K amalgam ink is my go to for alcohol markers. cant beat it.
Although I've been crafting for years...this is the first time I've seen someone use the scoreboard to get the panel on the cardbase properly...😲😲 love it... and the card - of course 😀 - . Can't wait to see what other fabulous creations you come up with.
Colorado Craft Company has some really cute Halloween Stamps and Dies. You’re doing such an awesome job! I bought all the supplies for card making about 5 months ago and mine are still looking like I did them in preschool! 😂
Well we don't have Halloween here over in the Netherlands but I really love all the Halloween cards and images. Love the typical Halloween colors too. You made a great card.
Wow that is a cool card so much dimension while having a clean finished look. You bring such good energy to your videos I feel better after watching them.
It's never too early for Halloween. My favorite holiday of the year. I too, a few years ago, spent Halloween Eve in Salem. I loved it! This is such a creative card and it turned out great. The shading you added to some of the features really made a difference. My go to Halloween movies are The Lost Boys and Sleepy Hallow (with Johnny Depp in it) but my 2 favorite villains are Freddy Kruger and Pin Head the cenabite.
what an enjoyable watch! Been obsessed with your TikTok’s, and the UA-cam videos are even better. I love the little blurbs that pop-up. It’s so cool seeing your vision come to life!!
Halloween is my favorite holiday as well. Very cute card, I really enjoyed watching it come together. The Nightmare Before Christmas is my favorite Halloween movie. Great job! 👍👍👍
Hi Ralph, I missed your live so I had to watch the replay!! I loved your introduction with the thunder and the Halloween music during your video!! What a perfect card you made, it was definitely spooky, lol!! 👻🎃
I send Halloween & fall cards. For alcohol marker coloring, I use Momento Tuxedo Black ink. My go-to pigment ink is VersaFine Clair Nocturne. Or you can use clear embossing powder over your black pigment ink if you'll be using alcohol markers.
Beautiful card! Am I the only one noticing how expensive dies are becoming? I love that moon die but oh my -$30? I will have to wait for a clearance special somewhere.
Neat card!!! I’m so excited to find a new person to watch!!! I wish you total luck at this!! I really enjoyed this and yes thank you for not making a Christmas in July card!!!!! Thank you for sharing!!!
Fun card! I don't do a lot of halloween but I do have people asking for them. They are fun to do, my Lawn Fawn popup ones were a hit! My favourite ink to use with alcohol markers is Tonic studios Nuvo Hybrid black ink. It works with all mediums and drys quickly
Love the card, Ralph! I'm also a BIG fan of spooky season! Just wanted to shout out that you tend to use a lot of product lines I'm less familiar with (and see fewer card makers using) which is awesome! Thanks for sharing your talents; it's awesome to see you being embraced on UA-cam!
We were in Salem last Halloween time, too!! So fun. Your card is awesome! We need to get started on the Halloween cards now, so we're ready in October. You're not early at all. Keep up the good work. You're in my subscription list & I look forward to your videos.
Ralph, this was a fun card! For virtually instant stamp to color with Alcohol inks, the go-to for most crafters has been Tsukineko Memento Ink. I enjoyed the sidebar of your Halloween village. Halloween is my wife's favorite holiday also. Boo!
Yay for Halloween! I did NOT know that there is a Halloween village - I’m going to have to look into that. You should invest in a sticky mat - it will hold all of your pieces still when you ink them up! Great card!
I miss my family’s Halloween buddies. Sometimes it works out that your entire family gets along really well, wives, husbands, and kids. We met at a McDonald’s Play Place when our kids were toddlers. We were both refugees from mommy groups. At some point they moved from the city to an historic mining town that was chock-a-block with ghost stories. Old fashioned hay rides, a haunted train, and trick-or-treating on a wooden boardwalk. Wonderful memories. Our kids are all grown now, but they went trick-or-treating together from the time they were toddlers till they were too old to go any longer. We live in SoCal now and Halloween isn’t nearly as fun. We just haven’t found our groove yet. Not like Christmas with all of the lights---so many, many lights. Disney does things for Halloween every year, but I don’t like the Nightmare Before Christmas; the regular Haunted Mansion is so much better, though the decorations around the park are cute. Universal’s haunted mazes are unbelievably expensive (usually $100/person/maze) and so crowded. If you want to shell out over a thousand dollars and stand in line for hours… Impossible for that activity to live up to the hype for me. Halloween is now an excellent occasion to make a card for my friends. But as a general rule I much prefer giving regular stuff a Halloween 👻 treatment rather than getting Halloween 🎃 themed supplies. It’s easy enough to change regular house dies & stamps into haunted houses or to make figures look 👀 tattered and spooky. I use Tim Holtz’s house dies to make haunted villages and the like. I also use his Splat dies and Paper Rose’s similar dies (“pond” shapes) to make ghosts. I just cut eyes and mouth holes out of the shapes. Monsters are also fairly easy to create out of various shapes. Just a matter of looking at the shape and not think about what a die or stamp set is intended to make. Paper crafting is definitely the best part of Halloween these days. I love making journal spreads and scrapbooking Halloween. I don’t send out too many Halloween cards. This video is an excellent reminder to sort through the Halloween specific supplies I do have and do a sort/purge. I have a calendar alert for the first part of September so I remember to go through fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving decor to pick out stuff for donations before the season. I think earlier might be better though. I donate to nursing homes. They will take paper crafts. I like paper crafting more than having the completed items so I donate last year’s makes to have room for this year’s.
Love the scene you created - well done! I also love Halloween … love seeing the kids all dressed up having fun and the decorations on some streets are spooktacular! You are also fun to watch and very creatively talented. I always do one card first as my prototype as you learn as you go with it. (I like to use a gray Copic to outline some die-cuts i.e. like the tree so the white doesn’t stand out much. You can also use the background colours on the white as well.) 😘 TFS!
Salem, cool! I spent last Halloween at Sleepy Hollow, near Rochester, NY, home of Washington Irving. So much fun! I would love a headless horseman die! Thanks for your inspiration. ❤️
Ralph, I use Memento Tuxedo black ink with Copics. So glad you’ve joined the card making world! Please keep making videos. We need more guys doing this!
Hi Ralph I loved today's video, so full of fun and information! Your card is awesome! You explain everything so well and I learned a lot. Thank you so much for sharing. Wishing you much success. I will definitely be watching your channel. ☺️
I just started my Halloween village this year and it’s already out. So if you ask me, after 4th of July is a perfect time. Also. Did you know, in St. Helens, Oregon they actually do ‘spirit of Halloweentown’. If I’m not mistaken it’s where the actual Halloweentown movies were filmed. I’ve never been but always wanted to go!! The actors from the movie sometimes show up for the festival too!
Been following on tiktok for months and seeing your video last week made me so so happy! As a fellow spooky season lover, i am a huge fan of tgis card!!🎃👻
I have to say I’m not a big Halloween person but I don’t mind the cute side of it. The only thing I’ve found I like is some stamps and dies from Trinity stamps which are on my wishlist.

I use memento tuxedo black dye ink when I color with alcohol markers.
Versa fine onyx black is my fav. I like to use clear embossing powder over before I add color.
I send Halloween & fall cards. For alcohol marker coloring, I use Momento Tuxedo Black ink. My go-to pigment ink is VersaFine Clair Nocturne. Or you can use clear embossing powder over your black pigment ink if you'll be using alcohol markers.
I need to be more diligent about heat embossing over my black ink! I tend to get lazy there 😅
Beautiful card! Am I the only one noticing how expensive dies are becoming? I love that moon die but oh my -$30? I will have to wait for a clearance special somewhere.
Unfortunately you're not the only one! It's a shame they're not more affordable
Hey Ralph, great intro 👻🎃💀. You really were made to do this card making gig. You really are great 👍. 😊gayle
This card is very cute! I shared your video with my granddaughter. She LOVES Halloween and even leaves some things up year round, lol
Glad I can share some new products with you!
We were in Salem last Halloween time, too!! So fun. Your card is awesome! We need to get started on the Halloween cards now, so we're ready in October. You're not early at all. Keep up the good work. You're in my subscription list & I look forward to your videos.
We might have crossed paths!
Great card!
He said on his tik tok live he may make a UA-cam video putting his village together in October!!!!
Looking forward to Fall cards.
Fantastic card! So pleased you’re here on UA-cam xx
$100 per maze per person?? That’s robbery!
Great card! I gladly subscribed. I use Memento ink for alcohol marker coloring. No smuggling!
Salem, cool! I spent last Halloween at Sleepy Hollow, near Rochester, NY, home of Washington Irving. So much fun! I would love a headless horseman die! Thanks for your inspiration. ❤️
Sleepy Hollow was actually on our list too! Glad to hear you had a great time there
Thank you for sharing your ideas I’ve been making cards for 20+ years. I use momento black ink with my alcohol markers
Enjoying your content so far! Looking forward to following your journey!
Thanks Jenny! 🙂
Ralph, I use Memento Tuxedo black ink with Copics. So glad you’ve joined the card making world! Please keep making videos. We need more guys doing this!
I love that card! I would much rather see Halloween in July cards than Christmas. I'm a big horror movie fan, too.
Love Halloween! The Trick or Treaters cast great shadows on-camera. Terrific texture. Enjoyed the process.
Welcome to the papercrafting club! Lol you have drank the card maker KoolAid!
I sure have!
Hi Ralph I loved today's video, so full of fun and information! Your card is awesome! You explain everything so well and I learned a lot. Thank you so much for sharing. Wishing you much success. I will definitely be watching your channel. ☺️
This card is so cool! I hope you post frequently because I love your style❤
