- This Easy Florentines recipe was inspired by so not great ones I had ... when I was invited to judge a friendly cooking competition recently amongst friends. These lovely people (bless them) cooked up a storm but their Florentine dessert (based off an online one bowl recipe) was a bit of a misadventure.
Therefore these Easy Florentines were inspired as a simple and quick to do recipe. Made gluten free with no butter and no flour, these Florentine cookies are simply wholesome nutty goodness. Healthy, crunchy, delish & never quite enough in the Sugar Crumble’s household. And it is IMHO, a fool-proof recipe. Try, you won’t be disappointed 😊 !

Nice, healthy snack....love your square brownie pan!
Haha I know right, there’s just something about squares. Thanks Sue!
Very yummy and healthy recipe😋👍
Thank you 😊
Hi. Can I use castor sugar instead of brown sugar? Will it change the texture or taste?
Hello! Yes you can use caster sugar. In this case, the brown sugar is used with the egg white as a binder for the Florentine so there should be no big difference. I tend to like to use brown sugar as I find its sweetness to be more mellow compared to white but they both can work.
@@theSugarCrumble Thank you for the reply💕
Can we replace the sugar with honey? How much honey?
Hello! I have not tried this with honey but I think you can. Brown sugar was added to create a kinda caramel syrup with the egg white which would bind the nuts together. Honey is already sticky so it could work. Maybe just add 1 or 2 tbsp according to taste. I think substituting with honey is a great idea. Let me know how it goes!
Hai, must put cardamom?
Hello! It’s not a must of course but I find cardamom gives it a rather wholesome nutty spiced flavour. If you have not tried it, I would recommend it. You would be pleasantly surprised.
Nice
