  • I have had the outdoor carcoon for about 4 months now and I decided it was about time I showed you the test results from a little test.
    In October 2017 I used a grinder to clean up 3 bits of angle iron and placed one in the outdoor carcoon, one in the garage and one outside the carcoon.
    From this test you can see how the bare steel has deteriorated over the last few months.
    The Carcoon is awesome... worth every penny for sure. I am am really happy with the results and the job it is doing.
    The Outdoor carcoon gets the thumbs up from me

    Good to see carcoons can work it depends on what area you live in they can be vandalized if you were unlucky and they seem a bit of a faf but not knocking them if they work for you that's good I still prefer the old garage well vented and just a nice soft cover for the car mine keeps well

    Very good experiment, interesting. For practical purposes the Carcoon isn't a lot better than an unheated uninsulated garage then. I think that's quite positive for the carcoon but it's not magic and your classic will deteriorate in it over time, certainly outdoors.

      That's the problem I had with covering up my project car, where I lived then the wind blew every afternoon, i took the cover off after about a year and it had destroyed my whole paint job, it buffed through the clear and paint on every corner and contact point (about 30-40 spots) I dont think I'll ever put a car cover on a vehicle outside ever again. Another reason not to cover vehicles for long periods of time is humidity, any car guy with old cars outside will tell you a car will last alot longer just setting outside in the weather then it setting there with a tarp or car cover on it. Best to obviously store inside a shop or buy or build a carport atleast. This all said if I could afford or wanted to spend the money one of those car capsules look pretty sweet. There expensive and also theyd look funny as heck setting outside your house 😄 a car setting inside a big bubble in my neighborhood would get people talking and laughing, I'd never live it down.

    Hi, what size bubble is that, as they list them, 2, 3, 4. the reason I ask is I have the large bike size but have two motorcycles and are looking at putting them both in a car size carcoon side by side, thanx.

    There are two comments one could make about your test:
    1 A carcoon will protect your car just as well as a garage.
    or
    2. A garage will protect your car just as well as a carcoon.

      Hahah yeah that is true but not all garages are as good as mine and also others may not have a garage at all :D

    I TOLD MY GIRLFRIEND we should get one of these carcoons and ask her to set up a bed and living space in it and then she can stay in it for 30 days because when she comes out. She will look just a beautiful and ageless. She told me it does not work on humans. Oops!

    Why would you title this video as you did? It doesn’t make any sense. You actually like the Carcoon. So why warn “watch this first!”?

    I was actually expecting the one in the Carcoon to be more rusted than the one outside and the one in the garage, otherwise why would you bother making a video about it?

      It still shows that the carcoon is better than outside... obviously it is not a lab experiment

    "It does have a little bit of rust on it" - so you compare it with the outside one, not with the one from the garage. It seems to me you're desperate to show how good the carcoon is. "You can see the difference, so the Carcoon is definnitely doing something" It's keeping more weather out than without any protection. Duh! Are you an agent? Are they sponsoring you?

    • @Bhpcars
      @Bhpcars  3 роки тому

      My garage has heaters in it so I am not surprised.
      If I was leaving the car outside then you can see how much the carcoon has helped and imagine how good the indoor carcoon would be...
      No not an agent or even sponsored by carcoon. Just someone showing there experience.
      Cant really see your problem

    • @DownhillAllTheWay

      @@Bhpcars Thank you. That's really what I was curious about - whether it was as good as a garage, but at 11:35, you got the steel angle from the Carcoon and compared it with the one from outside - and I was not even slightly surprised that it showed that putting your car in the carcoon was better than leaving it standing outside - but although you put the three pieces of angle together so the viewer could look at them, you didn't say anything about the Carcoon/garage comparison, and the video wasn't really clear enough, with light reflecting from the angles, to do a critical visual inspection. You talked about the Carcoon/outside comparison, but not the Carcoon/garage comparison.
      I must say, though, that the appearance of the Carcoon seems like an invitation for vandalism. Anything that looks a bit different. I can just see that lots of kids would think it funny to slash it.

    • @Bhpcars
      @Bhpcars  3 роки тому

      @@DownhillAllTheWay I have done some other updates I think so maybe you can get a feel for the comparison :D
      Luckily I live in a good area and the carcoon is tucked out of sight so in the 3 years I have had it there has not been any issues with vandals.
      I am also about 100m from the beach so we get hit with some pretty terrible weather.
      If I had the perfect set up the Z4 would be in one of my other garages but I am currently building a kit car in one, got bikes in one and another kit car in the other...
      I think I accidentally left the carcoon steel out overnight and rust formed almost instantly..
