    I’d recommend putting a piece of wood underneath the kickstand of the bike. That’s a lot of weight leaning on one little spot on the fairly thin floor. I would t be surprised if it punched through if the ground softens to much

    this one will need a follow-up to see how it does in a wind storm, and how it lasts after a few months in the sun, how long does it stay inflated if the pump isn't left on, etc. Products like this always look good when they go up, but how they withstand the elements is what really matters.

    I'd love something like this, but have concerns about how it would do in a Wisconsin winter. I had Harbor Freight portable garage a few years ago. When I got it together, it seemed like it was REALLY sturdy. We got 24 inches of snow in April of 2018, and the HF portable garage was reduced to a pile of twisted steel and canvas. As cool as it looks, I don't see this inflatable lasting in the kind of elements we have to contend with in WI.

    • @mikepatton8691
      @mikepatton8691 Рік тому +1

      Nothing portable or inflatable will withstand a Buffalo, NY winter with our lake effect snow storms, if you think 2 feet of snow will wreck something then try 7 feet or more of snow in a day. Even some non-inflatable, regular homes, will have their roof collapse in those storms.

      I lived under a harbor freight carport canopy through a snowy winter. The trick I learned was to fasten the assembled roof together with rope lattice work so weight couldn't pull the frame apart.

    • @TheDiosdebaca
      @TheDiosdebaca Рік тому

      You can't really fault the canopy for that. If it was something like 10x20, each half of the roof would be about 240 square feet, total of 480 square feet. Snow on average is about 20lbs per square foot, so double that to 40lbs a square foot. Multiply that by the square footage of the roof you're looking at 19,200lbs. That's almost 10 tons. I would be absolutely shocked if it withstood 1' of snow.

  • @JWJIV2005
    @JWJIV2005 Рік тому

    Living in Maine, I'd find it interesting to see how it faired the winter. My father has had a temporary garage made of poles and tarp like material that be bought almost 15 years ago that has been standing since the day he bought it. Only thing that's ever needed to be replaced on it is the skin. I just don't know about that thing holding 6-12 inches of snow and holding up.
    The only other thing I would suggest Tyler, is tying it down. Get some rugged dog anchors, you know, cork screw looking things that you attach leashes to, and at least some rope or rachet straps and just anchor it down. It does look like a solid gust of wind and your neighbors will have themselves a new inflatable garage!

  • @elmadicine
    @elmadicine Рік тому +2

    what this would be good for: a temporary, sturdy structure that won't be left neglected for longer than a couple days at a time, very quick to set up, no teardown mess to clean up when you're done with it, no building permits needed for it, and as a bonus you can pack it up and move it for reuse relatively easy vs. a harder structure. some examples: you're building your own house/cabin out on some land and need something to shelter your on-site equipment while you do, emergency management type of situations, or perhaps multi day/week camp or festival type scenarios. something where you get a lot of high value use out of it in a short period of time.
    what this *woudln't* be good for: semi-permanent storage facility, or in a location that would be left unattended for long periods of time, or in an area that experiences extreme weather/temperatures/UV exposure, or in any application where you could reasonably build a harder structure for the same or less amount of money. unless, like tyler, it just brings you joy and you have the scratch to throw at it

    For the price you can find dozens of better options with less worry behind them of the dozens of things that will happen over some shorter time with this thing. UV is definitely gonna take a toll on it along with animals and obviously if a real sized branch hits it repair time. It's cool I'm not doubting that but for a storage place for long term like you're planning on you could've found a way better option around the same price.

      @ddoukopou He is using it as a permit structure for storing all these item's in. So use UV and other thing's will 100% be an issue that many other options you don't need a permit for especially the size he has would be better. I live on a private lake and they require permission for everything but I had no issue's getting a storage roughly the same size way cheaper that will handle weather UV and so on better then that inflatable option.

    The engineering is pretty good I will give it that. Much cheaper then having a separate garage built that is going to cost way more then 4k. That said, 4k for a blowup garage is kinda steep, you are really paying for the conveniance of the whole thing when imo the blowup stuff is suppose to be the cheap option, the pricing on this however cost more then just buying the materials yourself to make some kind of rudimentary shed and call it good, don't need to spend too much on it. Can even get even more frugal and make some kinda lean-to with a tarp and just park stuff in the grass, cover it up with the tarp and its done.

    • @andrewt9204
      @andrewt9204 Рік тому +2

      With wood sheathing floor, you can buy all the materials for a 10x20 shed with siding, shingles, and 8' wide barn style door for ~4k. If you don't need it to be portable obviously. Add another 2k for labor if you can't do it yourself, and that will last a lot longer than an inflatable.
      However, if you just want to keep sun/rain/snow off, a 20x20 steel car port is $2500.

    • @crazedmonk8u
      @crazedmonk8u Рік тому

      @@andrewt9204 You are talking about doing it in a more proper fashion so thats a good mention. I was going along more of 4k is too high but you want something in between just wrapping a tarp over everything and parking it in the grass and a structure on the cheap.
      to add on a 20x20 is about the size of 2 car width, a standard 1 door garage is 12x20 so i would instead just opt for a 20x35 metal carport for ~5k if we are going to go ahead and spend the 4k on a pre-built thing might as well go a little extra and get something bigger

Sure, not AS portable, but for storage and your toys? itll last forever.. not to mention it can be locked up. That thing is just one sharp object away from theft. Its still neat though, I like how sturdy it does appear to be and it doesn't appear to be TO heavy. I could see its appeal if you needed something to conceal against the weather and needed to move it fairly often, but if you don't need to move it then I think there are far more and better options.
