I totally get what you’re saying about the awesomeness of our international knitting community! Last night, I messaged a fellow “Ravelrian” from Australia with a question about one of her colorwork masterpieces. When I got up this morning, I found her response. Our interaction reminded me yet again of the generosity of the folks in our far-flung knitting universe. You two live in Alberta, I live in Philadelphia, my wonderful Aussie correspondent lives in Melbourne, and sometimes, I feel like we all live around the block from each other.

Thank you again, Tracie for your incredibly thoughtful and helpful response on Ravelry. You are indeed a yarn substitution and sweater modification QUEEN!!! I just finished my fingering weight "So Basic Sweater" by Maxim Cyr. It fits like a dream and I'm so excited to knit another one. You gave me the confidence to try to knit it in another yarn weight and I can't wait to cast on. I just love our knitting community and I want to thank you both for helping to foster such a supportive environment.

Adorable FO Tracie! I think I need to copy your ‘winterized’ version with the long sleeves and neck trim.. About the raglan section - it’s primary purpose is to limit the amount the shoulders are dropped. Without the raglan increases, the width of the shoulder gussets would have to be greater. And yes, they do contribute to the sleeve circumference, and therefore impact the depth of the yoke section that is knit straight before starting in the round. It’s a bit of a “hip bone’s connected to the backbone” situation. 😉

Love hearing about the books you read. My favorite way to hear about new books/authors is from other readers. I’ve never heard of Chevy Stevens and have her book on hold at the library. I too would love to have hard copy books but yes I read so much I don’t know what I’d do with most of them. I only buy a hard copy book if I’m going for it for a second read. I am a re-reader of some series. I rad typically via audiobook or kindle ebooks to keep the amount of things in my studio apartment to a minimum or essentials. 😃😃😃💜💜. Nice catching up with you ladies.

Oh yes, girls, you can fly from Aberdeen. I think also Glasgow has flights north - well, they did at one time.. the boat via Northlink leaves Aberdeen in the evening and it's a slow journey north. They take 8 hours to sail, although the trip could be made in five if the engines were revved up. The good thing about the boat is that, if you have sea legs, u go to the bar and have a few en route. Top tip.....Time your visit to the Shetland folk festival and you will have live music in the bar. Love from the Shetland isles xxx

Jodi, if you still feel you need to do something to tidy up and protect your steek edges, stitch a piece of grograin ribbon over them. If you don’t have buttonholes, putting the ribbon on back of the button band wil allow you to stitch a buttonhole and cut it. The ribbon will provide stabilization

Wow such glorious yarns this time! One day I would love to be a part of a Knit Collage KAL! Your sequin mohair would make a fun Christmas/New Year’s special sweater/topper. I’d pick that beautiful aqua or silver and make “A Fairytale with a frill” pullover. But I’m thinking, Prosecco, Lana Pullover, Ranunculus, or Cedar might work too, it someone likes the idea.
Also a fun hat, cowl or shawl. Sequins aren’t everyone’s thing, but sometimes they are fun and can be elegant too. Cheers!

My daughter and I got ringworm from her (she was a carrier). Then my daughter got shingles also. She was so angry with me because she was leaving to go back to her 2nd year of college for pledge week and looked a mess! I still have my cat but she is not very friendly since I put her in quarantine for a month! My cat hides when my daughter is visiting which is okay since my daughter hates my cat!

Someone may have said it during the chat, but you can use your Airtag on something else because you can use the “Find my” feature on another Apple device to find your AirPods!! Ask me how I know. (Live and learn.) It can even “make a sound” on a single earbud. That’s what I wish I knew earlier! I lost one earbud, but was super happy to find out that I could purchase an earbud replacement for $89 instead of the full cost of a new AirPod Pro. FYI: I bought a leather keychain case, so now I have a way to find my keys too ecause I can use the “Find my” AirPods. Twofer! Like an Airtag on both my AirPods and my keys! So, find something else to put your Airtag on, like your keys (unless you want to do what I did and use your AirPods case as a key chain.😉
