None of these are my style. I will pass. Thank you for exposing us to these one of a kind instruments.
Duh! You said you wanted a museum.
This is the kind of thing that goes in a museum.
The "swimming pool" Flying V was my favorite of this lot
That explorer and flying v were amazing. The explorer really to me is the most appealing aesthetically as a artist. You have a lot of great ideas going on. The mosaic design on the explorer is indicative of the parched desert of the south west where the mud dries super fast after rain and cracks like glass over vast swaths of land. A Lot of indigenous imagery mostly of the Mogollon and Pueblo cultures. This also show bits of Hopi and Zuni influence in its color composition and bead-work designs that are in the grand mosaic as well as the strap. Just beautiful craftsmanship and artistry.
All of the straps were f'ing wow those ... looked great to me.
On the gibson fiddles.. hard t choose, the western les paul, but with another 2 pickups that would cover the noolas part of the carving.
Interesting. Looking at the bridges suggests the "leave the moving parts unpainted" lesson on Psychedelic #2 was learned from having painted the moving bridge parts on Psychedelic #1. At the least, all the saddles on #1 were painted each their own color.
7:07 Love the Mayan Mosaic.....reminds me of some interesting lamps that my Dad bought in the 1970’s.
Love the Idea , starting to make a bass , body is Ric tulip shape I drew out cut wood , Carved a pattern in it that I drew .
Before I carved mini guitars / basses 5 inches big , out of Hardwood, finish sanding was 12,000 grit looked like it was sprayed with Clear Laquer.
The first easter egg I saw on the California Tweed amp was a big owl with little wings , also my fave of the art guitars would have to be the Explorer , it looks like something Billy Gibbons would play ...it would be cool if they made a fractal pattern covering the whole surface of a guitar and put inlays in the center of the fractal ...Thanks Trogly !
That mosaic flying V..........
Unbelievable artistry........
Greetings from Nashville north Louisville Kentucky.
I saw these this weekend at the Gibson garage and the Les Paul custom psychedelic was my favorite.
The Explorer and Flying V really looked like Small mosaic tile and they looked great too. Really, all three were awesome looking pieces.
That Flying V was by far the coolest. Absolutely gorgeous pattern!
Wow these recent RIck Hinrichsen art guitars show total dedication to the art alright! Psychedelic Art LP No2 blue and yellow design is awesome I love it, and only $25k, if I was working still I'd grab it. Love the Western Motif Custom a lot too. Wonderful job!
The Saloon headstock inlay looks like a Typewriter font, nice!
The Flying V . Is my favourite . And the one with horses on the headstock
I really dig the mosaic guitars and the psychedelic custom. I would love to play the mosaic ones just to know what they feel like. The saloon senior (or whatever) wasn't really my thing, but I can still appreciate what he did with it.
Those Mesa's are sick.. The psychedelic's literally hurt my eyes and I can't focus on them.
Yes, sick is exactly what they resemble.
I prefer simplicity to overly ornate instruments, but there's no doubting the man's talent or committment to detail. The stuff is painstakingly done.
I absolutely love all of them! I have a soft spot for such intricate designs. I doubt I'll ever be able to afford any of them though.
I'm curious if I'd be able to paint something similar on a kit guitar though... :)
Love your videos man!!!
I really enjoyed this episode
Thanks for watching!
Tile V is just perfect!
Nice, I am a old gold smith, nothing to do with your channel, worked on Harleys A collection of Gibson n Old guitars boxes, thanks you.
Ive seen some of these on GibsonTV
I saw the video from Gibson on his work. His artistic carving is mind boggling. He is so incredibly talented. Rare breed nowadays.
The sheer craftsmanship that goes into those instruments beggars the imagination. Glorious!
The first in time psychedelic one should be called Moons in Moons.
Those Les Paul Sr. Guitars are beautiful!
That Saloon guitar was my fave by far. Beauty!
The first one is my favorite
Elegant and beautiful
the psychedelic LP and mosaic V are definite standouts. however that "Saloon" LP Sr. was really rather impressive. it reminded me of an old leather wallet i had when i was a kid. not normally into that motif but i liked that one.
I am in love with the greek V
I love the gun carved to the guitar. That was awesome.
Any info on the people making the straps? The straps look pretty amazing.
I have to go with the Saloon.
That was my favorite as well.
This person that did this art work, has to have some serious patience? I say it again serious patience. there are very few people that are capable of doing this.
Most artists have a lot of patience for their work. Often they have patience for very little else.
It's a laser machine
That Les Paul Senior was the best looking guitar I've seen in a long, long time.
That flying V is outrageoussss🔥
Question what product do you use to clean the frets,,❤

If they included a six shooter with the Old West 1 Les Paul Custom at 9:43 they could have doubled the price....LOVE the three bullets at 11:33
Those are all fantastic works of art. It may not come as a surprise that I’m drawn to the Western Motif one 🤠
The one with the Mediterranean Greek Style tiles calls to me
I'm so happy to hear your comentary on this 😊
I love that Mayan explorer!
I like the straps more than the guitars
Your enthusiasm is contagious. I almost like those Gaudi guitars. 🥸
Like the batroom tile Les Paul
My favourite was the guitar I don't normally like, the Explorer .
The psychedelic #2 is the same design as the Zack Wylde Vertigo
the explorer is my favorite for sure
I seen it!
Gorgeous Ricky
#1 Explorer
#2 Flying V
Very interesting!
Just imagining playing a gig with the Psychedelic guitar, last set after about 4 Jägerbombs. That would be a challenge!
Those are Gorgeous!!!👍
On another bus to our next game wish us luck
Hi, Trogly! Love your vids.
I liked the Flying V. The blue one. Pretty serious 😮
The mosaic ones are cool!
Oh my gosh I just f@&ked up a mosaic floor in a shower today. Wrong color grout! And it was Laticrete grout so it had a catalyst and set up about half way through cleaning the grout lines out. What a disaster. My soul hurts today.
Hmmm... not sure if they're the "easter eggs", but at 2:19 there's at least 10 differences between the left and right side, it's not symmetrical in all places. I just can't make any sense out of the differences... :D
Great guitar art, that guy is a crazy genius
My first reaction that one is holy c$#%. I liked the western themed guitar the best.
They indeed should have left the binding alone and the fretboard on the psychodelic- they could have done inlays with the blue and yellow circles in trapezoids or something....
Love the carved, wood-burned one, but those psych ones are just hard to even look at.
the henna tattoo one is so mesmerizing ! can't believe people don't like when Gibson pushes the envelope with artistry. I'm impressed
Rick is an amazing artist! These are the epitome of functioning art!
You’re so awesome for making these videos for us. I love for this. Thank you buddy, always appreciated.
Always a great show about one of the things I love most - Guitars
HELL YEAH GO FOR IT !!!
To each his own, but I wouldn't play that if they paid me to do it.
That is the eclipse effect with accompanying comet. Those are eclipse phenomena that occurs during a solar eclipse through the tree leaves. Check it out.
I NEED THAT EXPLOROR
I’m a retired luthier with over 50 years in the industry.
Master craftsman have been showcasing their craftsmanship in musical instruments for hundreds of years. Guitars, lutes and many other small stringed instruments are very popular as they offer the ability to enlist great detail in small surface areas which has always been a mark of the true master in all industries. Great examples can still be seen today worldwide from all periods in time where attention to detail, representation and materials used are expressed in an artistic manner that supersedes the original function of the piece as a musical instrument. These guitars from Gibson are no exception as they are form before function or in other words works of art that happen to be instruments. All instruments in this category must be treated this way and respected. Bottom line if you simply choose to place stickers, paint, carve or endow your instrument you are showing creativity and an artistic vision that pleases you. If someone is happy to purchase your guitar knowing and with the intention to treat it as art then you have achieved to transform its original function of the instrument into a form of art. Respect of someone’s vision is the key the price tag is therefore only relevant to the purchaser. I wish all the owners of these guitars continued enjoyment.
Appreciate the talent and work involved but for me it's hard to beat when sunlight hits some natural wood grain.
Where's Waldo?! Was looking for Easter Eggs, didn't even see Bunnies. HAha.
Only one that didn't give me vertigo, is the Saloon motif, but I had too many brews and passed out. Haha.
Hey, what about the Trussart guitars, some nice work there too. Thanks for the good work. Ü ♫
I would do the mosaic Explorer if I was gonna spend that type of money on one of them. The Flying V would have been killer too but that one is already sold.
is it me or are the truss rod cover screws really rounded out @5:11. The screw closer to the nut looks even worse? I dig the guitar! Yellow strings not even mentioned :)
yes
"Highway Robbery" is what they should rename the Gibson Garage.
11:07 it should be Gibsaloon on the headstock😂
I like the saloon Les Paul. Way cool.
I do like that arch topped Junior.
Compared to the other guitars and their prices, the psychedelic art guitar was way too cheap at 25k!
And yes, it's also my favourite guitar of those.
my guitar got a tattoo??? nty. The carved acoustic guitars look good.
Have to say the Mayan is my favorite.
I like the saloon one.
Not into the trippy guitars, but that henna rig was pretty stunning
I didn't know the guys from Caroliner Rainbow had a signature model!
What's Caroline rainbow?
Easter Egg...straight down from the edge of the handle looks to be a smiling joker/jester on each side. You can see eyes, nose, mouth, and jesters collar 🃏
For an art piece pretty cool.
Yes, yes, and yes! That thing is crazy cool and all I have to say is, it gets VERY intense when you get on that guitars wavelength 😅
The woodburning ive never seen on any guitar. Quite...shocking. might be more appealing on a more obscure model.
The last guitar was nice, would be good for Lynyrd Skynyrd Gimme Back My Bullets.
Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick would definitely rock Psychedelic #1 onstage.
I’m on a quest to afford the guitar Andre Fludd recently showcased on his channel.
Incredibly different; but not just for the sake of it.
The Spearhead I believe it’s called…
He should do a Tribal and a Celtic Knot design.
Nothing I would consider, thanks for sharing, though. Interesting and spectacular workmanship. Have to respect the artistry.
Those are cool
I was ready to hate on these, but that Mayan mosaic was pretty cool
i saw these guitars on gibson tv couple nights ago. hes a true craftsman but these are wall hangers for the rich. at least hes not trashing guitars like tom murphy then jacking the price up. these beautiful guitars are worth what ever you want to pay for sure. craftmanship at its best
The v and explorer are chefs kiss no wonder they sold instantly
Old West 1 is number 1!
