The most depressing theme I've ever heard for a film is Syriana's theme by Alexander Desplat. If you feel like crying or reminicsing about sad, mellow memories, this music is just for you. Makes you think alot about everything. Everything you've lost. Everything you'll gain. Everyone you've betrayed. Everyone you've helped.

Yes a masterpiece but hard to follow its complex story. My Father showed this to me when i was 15. Had to watch it again since then MANY TIMES :-)
Its such a different landscape now, very unique insight into energy policy then and now, especially now since oil prices have crashed. Given the transition to alternative energies, more fuel efficient vehicles and the mass scaling up of domestic energy to the point of US being fully capable of energy independence now, I wonder what the foreign policy game would be from now on. Plus highly energy dependent economies are now in deep sh** versus before , to the point that Saudi is considering privatizing its oil industry ....game changing is such a short period of time

I have the CD and the Movie, both are perfect, one of the greatest movies ever made.

I think these are three different tracks of the soundtrack mixed together. The common theme that they share is truly amazing though, and kudos to the guy who mixed them did an amazing job timing the transitions just right.
Sweet, sad, bitter, happy. Memories are like that. Human lives are like that. Complicated yet simple. lifes not meaningless, it's just to short. That's why you have to live. so that even the shortest of lives can create an impact worth a long one. It doesn't matter how long or how short. It just matters that you lived it up when you could. The meaning of life is Life. How do you want people to remember you?

@vriend1 likewise if Muslims don't capture the message they will be hated by most Americans, you obviously did not get the message by making that statement. The message of the movie is multilayered, that the whole problem is very grey and not black and white.

The film is quite good, it's not great, but is not bad by any stretch... It's pretty bias, that is the only negative i would attach to it. Its true though vary demanding film, it's subtle you must pay attention or you'll miss it's point its message and the story too...

It is biased in it's prospective of capitalism, and corporate corruption. It portrays grandiose capitalistic conspiracy based themes that are far more fictional and interesting, then truth-full or thought provoking. It is for one, a movie, and not a fact based mission statement. So i wouldn't take to much stock in it and it is biased in this political perspective, Because it is definitely a liberal theme. And it is more of a comment on american politics then Middle eastern.
