You gotta read it outloud. Speaking words gives them power. In our world, too 😅

"And I'm Frank, also." 😂😂 Anyway, the trope I'm just so done and over with is the not believing female characters trope that feeds into the idea of "female hysteria". You know the whole husband/boyfriend/male friend not believing the female character because she's being hysterical or irrational, and everything is fine. I'm just done with that. It continues the stigma that women are irrational and overly emotional and can't be trusted when they tell someone that something is wrong. Can we please get away from that concept in horror???
Anyway, another fun and funny banter filled conversation. Christopher Pike's Chain Letter books are so good! You two are killing it. 💜
Edited to add, in the original Exorcist, there were two priests, the older one (Father Mirren) and the younger one (Demi - he had dark hair). It was the younger priest who did struggle with his faith and ultimately took the demon inside himself and died by jumping out the window and falling down the stairs so he could stop the demon. It was so effective, so I agree that was a win for the priest.

Zena, Real Queen of Horror, just covered Horror tropes on her channel. 😂. Also, I would love an episode dedicated to Tubi Horror films.

Omg I have also wanted to explore abandoned buildings (but I also have no idea how to get into it). I have always wanted to explore my moms childhood home it’s been abandoned for over thirty years (my grandmother often wondered if some of their old belongings were still in the house) I know it would be fun to do but I don’t have anyone who wants to do it with me lol. Also you have the “black person always dies first” trope, in recent years it’s been flipped that the “black person” dies last or makes it to the end of the film.
