Agreed seeing “It” ( the Tv adaptation) as a child was definitely terrifying, the bathroom ballon scene is forever ingrained in my mind. Side-note: I know this isn’t really a urban legend but there was a rumor when I was a teenager that our middle school was built on a graveyard and that our band room was haunted by a former band instructor( some of the kids claimed to have heard instruments play on their own and even claimed to hear his voice).
I haven’t seen the IT tv series in sooo long! I like the IT movie part 1 but part 2 just didn’t work for me. You guys make me want to read the book. I also love when guys end up going off topic haha
This banter and debate about clowns and who's the best Pennywise tickled the hell out of me. That said, i have a nostalgic love for Tim Curry's version of Pennywise, and it does have a lot to do with the miniseries being what I grew up watching (82 baby here), so i do think it is a generational thing. But also, I just think he did a great job even now as an adult when I've rewatched the movie. He uncut and mean.
As for the big production remake, I enjoyed it a lot. I think the kids in the remake did a bit of a better acting job than the kids in the original. I was so invested in the safety of those kids more than I was in the safety of the kids in the original. I think Bill Skarsgard did a great job despite me finding humor in his character, but I'm sure I found some humor in his character because I've got a dark sense of humor in some ways.
Edited to add, a great Stephen King book to read is Rose Madder. Disclaimer/ trigger warning, the book is about a domestic abuse survivor. It is fantasy or can be consider hyper realism and it delves into mythology as a source of analogy, as well.
Okay, LC convinced me to watch the OG It tonight. only seen pt 1 of the remake and I def don’t plan on watching pt 2.. 😆
I wouldn't say this is one of the best books but it was a really good story. I needed to know what happened so I finished it very quickly. The Institute.
This is very entertaining lol! Now I want to hear y’all’s feelings on everything 😂
LC you know our ultimate monster was Candyman, but I gotta say I was more impressed by Bill Skarsgard bcuz I too watched the original IT as an adult. So I was like, ehhh.
Homie the clown too 😂
Tim Curry didn’t do a good job 😮??? He was OK?!?! Stahp the madness. Someone arrest him😂
