I tried it out! It lathers a yellow orange. While rubbing it on a white wash cloth it made it yellow orange, but if rinsed immediately it shouldn't stain. My washcloth stayed white. It doesn't stain skin either. I just wouldn't leave the washcloth sit with the soap on it for an extended period of time.
Hi! My batter keeps coming out a pinkish color. How much Rhubarb am I use to get it dark in color like yours? I’ve tried this 3x’s in the past 2 days making soap. Yours is rich and looks like blood or paint. On the food side, it looks like red velvet cake batter. 👍🏽 kudos to you on this! Pretty 🌹🥰
I put 4 tablespoons of the powder into a 16 oz Mason jar. I filled the jar to the top with olive oil. I shake it well to incorporate. I let it infuse for a couple of weeks or you can give it a hot water bath in a crackpot filled with water on low to medium heat. I set my jars in there for a couple hours. I let the powder settle to the bottom of the jar and pour the olive oil slowly out of the jar, trying not to get any powder chunks. You could strain it if you wanted. I got the rhubarb powder off of Amazon. Some powder is less potent than others. I believe there is a link in the description box.
Thank you! I kind of panicked, because I've never seen it get so dark. 🤣 The inside is now the same color as the outside was in the last photo. It's very burgundy.
@@sprinkledcleansoapery I came looking for this information, thank you! I was so afraid it stayed that deep orange. Orange isn’t bad, it’s just achievable at a lower cost if the red doesn’t pull through. Thank you!! On the shopping list for my next batch!!
I hope you give it a try! I'd infuse your oils for at least a week or force infusion with some heat if you want to make it right away. The color will be more vibrant if the oils themselves get a good staining. Have fun!!!
You can strain it and still get a beautiful color. I let the powder settle to the bottom of the jar and pour it out slowly so very little powder ends up in the final bar.
I add 1tbs of coconut milk powder for a 2.5lb batch. Let's say my lye was 5oz and water was 10oz. I'd make my lye solution with 6oz of water and use 4oz to disperse my coconut milk powder and kaolin clay. I usually use 1tbs of the clay. You could always add the milk powder and clay to your oils.
What a lovely soap, i love the color. Thank you for sharing.

@@rjchannel5442 That would be awesome!
Looks so rich! I’m wondering if it will stain being an herb ..? Have you tested it yet? Love to try this, but leery of stained wash cloths

Also, the red hasn't faded, even a year later!!!
I need to try this. Yours looks so luxurious!
Thank you! I got the rhubarb powder from Amazon. It comes in a craft color bag. I can try to link it in the description.

Gorgeous 😍
Thank you! ❤️
Did you strain the infused oil? i mean that you just take the infused olive oil not with the rhubarb powder or it's with the powder? TIA

How much cream did you end up using?
