    Why cut that pinch weld? Without actually seeing it for myself, so i could be wrong, it LOOKS like you could just hammer the bottom 6 inches of the pinch weld over flat.

    I like the look, but I think I would have cut that back farther, and rewelded the seam back together. Then used some very good rust inhibitor, and painted the area with line x. Then put a set of pocket flares on to protect the body. That seam may start rusting or split open if it gets hit, all of which is really bad on any vehicle, let alone a 60k truck.

    whats he offset on those rims? if its less than 20mm I'm thinking you could better clearance with a 20mm offset. Think I'm gonna take a 3lb sledgehammer to he pinchweld though when I get mine at the end of next year.

      @@homeguy4 yeah, I'll pay for carli or thuren and have a better ride and clearance. That truck with the proper rim would clear everything fine. The aev rims are made to do just that. It's when you get the wrong backspace that you end up trimming.

    • @TexasJAGD
      @TexasJAGD  2 роки тому +1

      The trimming was really straight forward. But yes, the negative 12 offset is the culprit. I do like the look of the Wheels slightly sticking out but only after I added flares which aligns the wheels with the rest of the truck. I'd love to go with 40s some day and the AEV kit for that.

      @@marcusmendoza9354 That is precisely what I did with my last truck, a Suburban 2500. One perpendicular cut up high with the grinder and then use a persuader (aka mini sledge) to hammer the pinch weld over. Sprayed on some undercoat protection and good to go. On that truck there was a trick to not cut the fender liner, where you pull the pop-pins. Pull the liner back out of the way to do cutting/pounding. Then put the liner back in place, pushed all the way back in against the now bent in pinch weld. Mark the new spot for pop-pins, drill a new hole in liner and resecure the pop-pin in the new location. I will be doing this mod on my 2013 PW soon and i am going to see if this technique carried over from the Sub will work somehow on the PW.

    You have any luck resetting your TPMS system? I keep getting shot down by dealerships, they say its against the law for them to do it. I even explained AEV's instructions and the system is never disabled.

    • @TexasJAGD
      @TexasJAGD  6 років тому

      Jon Luther I used the AEV ProCal to change the minimum pressure amount but since I've out those tires on, I have all sensors complain about the tire pressure. The ProCal allows you to set the threshold to 35 as well, but I haven't done that yet. Right now it's at 50. Would be great to set it to 45 or so, but the ProCal has only three presets you can program.

    • @Fishingforjits
      @Fishingforjits 6 років тому +2

      Texas JAGD I was able to get a local dealership (in California), that is an authorized AEV dealer, to reset the TPMS system. It is now set to 50 psi all around, and no more light. Cost one hour of labor. Much simpler than all the posts about using an AUTEL programmer.

    I'm liking those steps...what brand are they?

      Ranch Hand! I like the AMP research power steps because you can maintain a taller look but for my purposes, the Ranch Hand steps with the third step for the truck bed really are a better fit. I use that third step all the time. Install was easy.

    Mounting a truck tire with only a jack holding it up? Wow!

    I'd rather use a 1 inch smaller circumference tire. Although it does look good.

    Would a 2in body lift have helped ? The truck looks fantastic with the 37s!!

      Power Wagon has 2.5 inch lift from factory. I added a Thuren Overland 1.5 system, which brought it up another 1" in the front. If I had added another 2 inches, I probably would have cleared it
