I’ve watched so many youtube videos covering skin care routine and how to get rid of acne, etc but this one video is quite eye opening. I’m actually from Korea(haha) and have always kind of tried to simplify things including skin care routine, in other words, tried to use the least number of skin care products. It does makes sense and I now understand what it was that I always felt something was missing. I’ll try this method starting from tonight. I almost never leave any comments or whatsoever. Btw how you deliver it - I mean the way you are talking about things - is pretty cute (+to the point) and keeps things interesting. Thanks

I bought a huge can of Avene facial mist. I knew I needed it and it felt great staying my face but I had no idea how to fit it into my routine other than use it on bare skin on hot days. You are only person I’ve come across that actually knows what the heck to do with it and backs it up with an explanation. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 The Avene skincare team was there that day and couldn’t explain this to me. Fantastic video. Subscribed💫💫💫💫💫💫

Searched the internet like crazy about topics like: how long to wait between skincare steps and what is damp skin, i mean how wet it should be when applying skincare in order to be damp but not dripping wet.And you explain everything and answer to all my questions. No one out there on the internet explains this like you and they all apply it wrong. applying serums to wet skin then immediately layering serums when the previous layer of serum was still wet on the skin then adding a moisturizer on top of all these immediately when face was still wet with the last layer of serum- that’s what i was doing, following the 7-step korean skincare routine. Didn’t quite know the explanation behind this and was hesitating, but my skin was feeling good .actually i was afraid i was doing it wrong and was wasting my products since the first layer was mixing with the water on the face and the other layers were mixing with the previous layer. I was still doing it that way because, having so many steps and products, if i waited for the skin to dry in order to apply the next layer, it was impossible, it felt awful like piling tons of sticky and greasy products on the face.

Olena, you just saved my life. My skin has always been very sensitive and now during winter (here in Latvia it's pretty harsh) on top of being sensitive it became flaky and oily. So I've spend days and weeks on youtube trying to understand what I was doing wrong, but many youtubers were just suggested products that worked on THEM, but no one ever told me the very basic knowledge about the skin so I kept struggling with it. Turns out all I've ever needed was just a simple scientific explanation on how skin works. I would have NEVER thought that I'm doing my moisturizing wrong. Thank you sooo much!

I spray literally water to my face before moisturizing rather using hydrating spray or anything to avoid the potential of irritation because my face is still trying to heal from acne and my skin barrier is still weak. And i haven't found the right hydrating spray/mist and humectant products that's not irritated for my skin from their "extra" ingredients.

I can confirm this works for both very oily and very dry skin. I have extremely oily and acne prone skin on my face (have had episodes of cystic and hormonal acne). when washing and rinsing, i always kept rinsing lots of times cause my skin loved the feeling of water on my face, and my mum used to yell at me that i was wasting too much water. So my skin on the face was lacking water obviously. On the other hand, because of harsh soaps and washing hands frequently at the beginning of the Covid pandemic, my hands got so dry to the point the skin was almost cracked and bleeding and felt rough at the touch. No heavy moisturizer relieved it. And when i applied a cheap moosturizer to wet skin, the next day my skin was healed. Magic!

    No oil at all
    Huge pores orange peel texture
I usually wash face water before bed
Rub moisturizer on wet face and air dry

Can you please tell me If Clinique moisture surge extended thirst relief moisturiser is good for acne prone skin? It says it keeps the skin hydrated for 72 hours has humectants in it i have heard alot of good reviews on that product its oil free fragrance free but I’m scared cuz it has dimethcone in it will it break me out? If no Please recommend a nice moisturizer for dehydrated acneprone skin Please reply ASAP❤️❤️❤️

Here are the ingredients for the Clinique Moisture Surge™ 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator:
      Ingredients
Water\Aqua\Eau , Dimethicone , Butylene Glycol , Glycerin , Trisiloxane , Trehalose , Sucrose , Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Vp Copolymer , Hydroxyethyl Urea , Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract , Silybum Marianum (Lady'S Thistle) Extract , Betula Alba (Birch) Bark Extract , Saccharomyces Lysate Extract , Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Water , Thermus Thermophillus Ferment , Caffeine , Sorbitol , Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-12 , Sodium Hyaluronate , Caprylyl Glycol , Oleth-10 , Sodium Polyaspartate , Saccharide Isomerate , Hydrogenated Lecithin , Tocopheryl Acetate , Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer , Glyceryl Polymethacrylate , Tromethamine , Peg-8 , Hexylene Glycol , Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate , Disodium Edta , Bht , Phenoxyethanol , Red 4 (Ci 14700) , Yellow 5 (Ci 19140)
My favourite moisturizer contains glycerin as the second ingredients instead of the 4th...But this one will moisturise, just probably not for 72 hours! :) I mean I hope you wash your face every day and won't wait 72 hours to do so... :D
The dimethicone is an occlusive (prevents transepidermal water loss) and can potentially break you out if there's too much of it...and given that it's the second ingredient it can. But you can still experiment with this product and see...I mean you'll only use a pea-sized amount to seal in moisture and won't be using globs of it right?
      Love,
      Olena
PS. A review of my favourite moisturizer is coming soon! :)

    • @OlenaBeley
      @OlenaBeley  6 років тому +1

      Hi Leena,
Yes, rosewater can be a very nice choice for a spray, I sometimes use it myself -- but I have one with thermal water and aloe. :) The importance of the first step is WATER, so even plain water will work!

Ok just tell me if I get you wrong
    On Damp skin
    1)Thermal/hydrating spray(hydration)
    2)Hyaluronic acid serum(humactant)
3)any oil-free moisturiser or can I use squalane oil or squalane based moisturiser(emolient)
    *everything within a min*
Now wait for 5-10mins to let it absorb/set on the skin
Now I can proceed with my daily skincare routine/treatment etc ignoring toners and serum as I'm supposed to use toner and serum within or as a part of hydration or humactant I.e, the first two steps of your 3steps moisturisation technique
Or I can use serums after 3step moisturise technique?
Kindly reply and ya you got a new sub

After I cleanse I use cosrx aha/bha toner with vitaminC then I use serums like 10%niacin, hyaluronic acid serum, azelaic acid serum then a normal moisturiser then cosrx advance 96 snail mucin power essence and then bioderma barrier repair cream then sunscreen and list goes on
So the three step moisturiser is where I'm supposed to put in my routine? Where I simply use a "normal moisturiser" or my routine is fucked up so I'm supposed to start everything from very beginning?
