David Draiman of Disturbed, and ex-Filter guitarist Geno Lenardo recently collaborated together to construct Device. The album takes strands from hard rock, industrial, and electronica, and as a result, Device's self-titled debut album for Warner Bros. Records is a focused, fierce, and fiery new machine.
It all started while the Grammy Award-nominated multiplatinum powerhouse Disturbed was on hiatus, Lenardo reached out to Draiman to collaborate on a song for the Underworld: Awakening soundtrack in late 2011. As soon as the singer heard the music, he was both intrigued and inspired. The duo then cut "Hunted" in Chicago. Even though the track didn't ultimately make the final soundtrack album due to circumstances beyond their control, Draiman urged that they hold on to it and continue writing music. Soon, they had an entire album's worth of material.
Upon finishing the record, Draiman enlisted Evanescence drummer Will Hunt and Dope and Rock of Ages guitarist Virus. Both Hunt and Virus jumped at the chance to be a part of this powerhouse trio. The three comprise the touring incarnation of Device.

Draimans voice inspires me so much. so glad he didnt give up singing, hope he sticks with it for a couple more decades!!!
This song is great. It also has a good point.
2 years later, this song still resonates with how I feel about a particular relationship ...which, by the way, is what David Draiman had in mind! When a partner has it all figured out and creates this warped view of you cobbled from the frailties you thought it was safe to share with him/her, at some point you have to realize that "you" is NOT you and banish them from your heart!

david dramian did on on disturbeds hiatus I still remember I went to Columbus in 2010 when asylum came out with stone sour three days grace and avenged sevenfold and they stopped for 4 years which is when he worked on this side project

Hey think about it this way, even if they don't buy the album, they are still supporting it by listening to the music, then sharing it with one of their friends. Though I don't believe in taking music without paying for it, some do. It's still supporting the band in a sense because they could show their friend who might just so happen to love it and then show it to someone else, who buys the album, then buys tickets to the shows. Just because they don't buy it doesn't mean they aren't promoting.
The chorus... Fucking beautiful, anyone who hates this is not open to good music. Such a meaning too. It does describe some of my past relationships. And @5carecrow94 I do agree, it sounds a little like warrior.

The singer for disturbed, David Draiman, is singing for device. They have more of an industrial sound than disturbed, but not so different that a disturbed fan cannot enjoy it.

Instrumentally I'm not the biggest fan of the song...but lyrically it's a freaking masterpiece
it could sound like any song, but disturbed was disturbed and now it's device. device probably sounds like disturbed, though it is a slightly different genre of music. i think you could throw away the discussion about what song it is alike from disturbed, and just focus on listening device. (yeah, quite mindf*cking)

I don't care how many people are bitching for Disturbed to get off of their hiatus, but really, has anyone listened to how fucking beautiful this chorus is? Personally I think this song could compete with a good chunk of the songs from Disturbed. As much as I miss disturbed, they are people with lives too, maybe they just need a break from everything, to see the families etc. They never said they have broken up, just a break, we all need a break here and there.
