0:37 why do you have Wales and Northern Ireland highlighted and announced as Scotland? 0:38 again here is wrong. The Kingdom of Ireland was the whole island of Ireland. Northern Ireland wasn't created until 1921.
Great animation and informative! You may want to re-dub the audio with the actual pronunciations of places like Worcester, Wight, Warwickshire, Berwick, etc. These are all very Americanized-sounding (or otherwise just slight off) pronunciations.
When you say that the deaths were equal to WW1, proportionally, does that mean, equivalent to WW1 British deaths or all the deaths in WW1? I also think it is odd they break it up into three wars when it really was one long war with some lulls in it. But hey, it's their history they can divide it however they want.
I think they mean to compare the death rate (deaths/population) of the English Civil War to that of WWI. According to my research, the casualties in the Civil Wars accounted for about 3.6% of the British population while in World War 1, the death was 2.6 of the whole world's population.
@The Radio, that is a great question I was wondering the exact same thing I thought it was absurd at first but the person below answered the question perfectly thank you man.
Yeah youre it's pretty good. Some small mistakes but 🤷 I just wish people would do a quick youtube search for place pronunciations it should be standard research, it makes me question the rest of the information in the vid @@ArmyofLove

Ive never understood the hate against the Irish. They were a great people, still are to this day, and yet rarely started any war or conflict. Yet England felt the need to constantly invade them! Was it resource driven.
I am really confused and surprised that, English people turn a blind eye the fact that this was the first Republican Revolution against monarchy more than 100 years before French Revolution.. people from different classes of the society come together, revolt against ants kill the king and rule the country by the only power of a parliament at least formally..
I like the summary, although the pronunciation of British place names is not good. And Berwick (pronounced Berrick) is further south than shown on the map.
I've never heard the term. It looks like somebody in America has picked it up from a computer game and applied it to the Civil War. It's never really been called the English Civil War by historians because it involved Ireland, Wales & Scotland as well as England. Unfortunately, many Americans think that England is Britain, , London is England and that it never rains in Manchester.
Europeans nust worry of Europe not America bir any other country why is this....War is coming to Europe ,Europe do not need to search dor it but that it will come to Europe....(Currency change)
...based on how this video ends, I guess the Parliamentarians and Cromwell won! Nice. I'm glad they defeated Charles II for all time and that the monarchy would never again rear its ugly head in England.
That was very unwarranted sarcasm Johnathan imho. We owe a great debt to all those Levelers, Diggers, and Roundheads that gave their lives for the rights of the dispossessed. Also the England that emerged after the Restoration was better than the England before it. I would have definitely been a Leveler and o would have picked up a pike for that cause.
This video is absolutely awful. From the mispronunciation of "Berwick" to Dublin being positioned in Dundalk, and all the other inaccuracies along the way. 😂
0:37 why do you have Wales and Northern Ireland highlighted and announced as Scotland?
0:38 again here is wrong. The Kingdom of Ireland was the whole island of Ireland.
Northern Ireland wasn't created until 1921.
Okay so I'm not the only one very confused 😂
Love how far north Dublin is on the map.. 😂
Wales and northen ireland belonging to scotland are the most cursed thing i saw
If anything, at least he included Ireland in the first place considering the almost exclusive focus we see on just two of the sides.
0:41 Why is Dundalk named Dublin? lol Dublin is a lot further south.
tut tut american people
Thank you for the revision help!😊
Plus it uprooted lots of people in England and help spurn new migration to the American colonies. Virginia(Royalists) and New England (Puritans)!!!!!
aka Democrats and Republicans lmao
Why is Dublin where Dundalk should be?
Good point!
Nice video. Love it, keep it up!
thank you for the revision help !
Thanks for the Video!
Great animation and informative. The pronunciations were off in a few cases though
Nice, should have a higher grade on my history assessment now. thx
Why does your map have the first part of the word England on top of Wales and Wales not even labelled at all?
american geography
Useful documentary, but his pronunciation of of place names is unforgivable - Isle of ‘Right’?
Yep and Berwick as "Bur-wick"
Nice man forgot about the kingdom of wales
This will be coming to the UK soon.
Again, what is the Declaration of Independence
Great animation and informative! You may want to re-dub the audio with the actual pronunciations of places like Worcester, Wight, Warwickshire, Berwick, etc. These are all very Americanized-sounding (or otherwise just slight off) pronunciations.
Is it just me that thinks the term 'New Model Army' is excellent?
the declaration of Breda is in 1660, is it just an error in the video ?
Very usefull thank you !

Berwick is pronounced 'Berrick', Warwickshire is pronounced 'Worricksheer'.
And it's isle of Wight is 'White' or 'Right' 😁
“Worrickshur”
English doesn’t have a formal pronunciation rule
@JoeM it is the way everyone here pronounces it, definitely the correct way
Royal bank vs commercial banking as in America the federal vank vs commerial banking...... Inflation
Very useful video :D

@The Radio, that is a great question I was wondering the exact same thing I thought it was absurd at first but the person below answered the question perfectly thank you man.
Isle of Wight. Wight. WHITE. where's the r?
America won a war so we wouldn’t have to pronounce European words correctly.
You sound angry,
This video is brilliant

The audio mixing in this video is giving me a headache
The first hostilities occurred in August 1642 at Curdworth, Warwickshire, not Edgehill.

Again, qhy must europe fight a civil war ....Why did America create a Declaration of Independence?????
It's known as the war of the three kingdoms now.
No! Its still the English civil war

We are in weird times will Europe seperate or create the likes of a Declaration of Independence......
Isle of Wight, pronunciation 'White'
oh my roundhead letss goo
They banned Christmas, theatre and sport.
2:41
Absolutely butchered the pronunciation of the place names
Berwick is pronounced ‘Berrick’. Warwickshire is ‘Warrickshire’. Isle of Wight has already been pointed out to you as White.
So many map errors
In the UK and Ireland it is just known as the Civil War, not the English Civil War as battles took place in Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England.
It is pronounced Beh rick
why is he american and doing englsih history?
Huhh.. Why shouldn't he !!!? I'm an indian and I'm learning English history
This is utter dribble

Dublin is in the wrong place
That's not where dublin is ..
It is back then
You are pronouncing everything wrong

This video has so many of its facts wrong. Disappointing
