    M8, after your recommendation I just ran the IRC Ve33 and Tubliss on the rear. And a big thanks, what a tyre, the grip was amazing which inspired so much confidence and the Guys commented on the improved confidence in my riding.
    Cheers Silver Top Dougie.

    I've run the VE35 front and the Gekkotta version (VE33s) at the rear and it worked quite well. Superb traction through streams, rocks, roots mud, etc. I'm only replacing that with the VE33 because I occasionally have to ride on pavement and the VE33s begins to crack at the base of the Knobbies because of that amount of traction. Overall the VE33s is a great tire. I am now trying the VE33 non Gekotta and expect it will be a great tire as well.

      I'm happy with the performance of the VE33 hopefully the VE35 will be just as good on the front.

      @@BrokenSprocket it is very good on the front. It tracks well though it will drift a bit in mud. Over roots and rocks no problem. But what front doesn't drift in mud? 😉

      Does it hold up well on pavement in turns and traffic? thinking about getting one for frequent pavement riding

    • @easternyellowjacket276
      @easternyellowjacket276 3 роки тому

      @@stoveljacob I would not get this if you are riding on pavement alot. I use it to sometimes go on pavement to trail hope. You'd chew through it quick if you did miles on it.

      @Shultzchet 2 роки тому

      @@easternyellowjacket276 I think that is true with any true knobby though, even some of the DOT knobbys. I ride anywhere from half a mile to a mile on the road to go for a ride locally. I sometimes ride to work or into town for stuff but I generally try to avoid it until the tire has worn down a bit more. But how would you say the wear is on the pavement compared to like a motocross tire? Or total lifespan I guess because it does have taller knobs to begin with.

    Thanks for sharing! Your Tire is the stock tire on my small KLX 140 RF and in front it is the VE 35 F - a good combo in my opinion!

    $119.95 on MxStore for a Michelin Starcross 5 Hard in the 90/100 profile works a treat for my on my KTM 1090 Adventure R, I will be putting on my WR 450 F when it's front tyre wears out. The 90/100 profile offers great rim protection in case of flats with it's stiff side wall. I have had a flat on my 1090 doing 100km/h, but no rim damage or erratic front wheel movements. Thanks for the tip about the IRC tyre, I might try find one of those myself for my WR 450 F as well 👍🏽

      shinko fatty is a copy of the goldentyre , if you have any rock or hard terrain ,the side knobs on the shinko will crack & chunk , the goldentyre wont . i also tried gibson tech enduro fatty , no chunking & cracking either . the shinko is much cheaper ,but their regular compound does not like hard stuff

    Agree, VE33 best tire for the gnarly stuff. I pair it with the Maxxis desert IT up front. Great traction, doesn’t chunk knobs and lasts twice as long as ve33 rear.

    I think I'm on my fourth VE33S Gekkota Great tire! Have not tried the original VE 33 yet might be a good comparison. Seems to have a lot of the same characteristics amazing traction even when completely worn out and missing knobbies better than most new tires I've tried.

    I haven't tried the VE33 but have used the VE33s for my last 3 rear tires and it's great. It's not a true gummy but is softer than the VE33. You should try it sometime and see what you think. I use a GoldenTyre GT216AA 90/90 front and really like it but some people do complain of ripping off side knobs depending on the terrain.

    Have you had any issues with flats on this tire? Looking at this vs the VE33S, but honestly I think the normal VE33 suits my needs better given it seems to be longer wearing.
    But i've heard people complain of a soft carcass that gets tears and punctures easily.
