This did not dissapoint, so pumped for the new album! 🤘
Oh man what a great song, and yes, we don’t need the grunts all the time even if we love that they are back. For me, it has to be proggy and complex, so happy aboutthe band.
This is one amazing fucking album art!
This album is going to be something else😊
I can feel the darkness of opeth songs again 🤩
Theatrical, Orchestral, Metal. Is there anything better?
I sure hope you gave Wilderun a listen then!
Yes, the old Opeth.
@@Maggbba sure, but artists age. They can't do the exact same thing forever, unless you want to be Nickelback or AC/DC.
@@jasonashley9853 They never did the same thing forever, they were just consistent and had a unique style. Now they are trying to sound like King Crimson or Dream Theater and are barely recognizable. It's not bad, it's just meh. It's like a different band. I get it that they want to try new things but it's not working for me. They have lost that unique aura. After all these years it's still disappointing.
@@Maggbba you are pickier than I am. Most harsh metal vocalists sound like shit TBH. Not Mike. His growls have always been great. Also they are still playing with different licks and stuff. I like what they have released from this album so far. And the first track really hooked me. It's got this horror movie/post-apocalyptic vibe about it. I'm a big fan.
Mikael's new low clean vocals are definitely different, but I'm really liking them, and I like that they're not too prevalent, makes them more surprising when they pop up
So fucking insanely incredible
These tracks just get better and better ❤
Perhaps the best bass line and track I've heard this year.
It sounds like a mish-mash of discarded Pale Communion tracks, with some Watershed sinister atmosphere, definitely Axe-inspire drum sounds, plus some unexpected classic prog moments a la Dream Theater, plus some theatrical King Diamond-esque haunting vocals. Really impressive stuff, composition wise. Great job. I hope the whole album will be a feast of diversity and variety like this. Only negative point, maybe, it doesn't sound so cohesive as a whole. But you can't have everything, it's either more cohesiveness at the expense of variety or the contrary. I feel like all the metalheads are going to be slightly let down again, as perhaps they'd have expected a more metal oriented material, standing upon the Paragraph One premises. But then again, if they did they still miss the central point about this band, I fear. Which is that it's gonna take you by surprise, always. No offense intended to all brothers of metal of course! I'm one of them, but I love Opeth for what they are. And they stopped being metal-centred fifteen years ago.
Oh hell yeah I checked every day for a new song of the album and now it's here, this is bliss! This album will be phenomenal.
Some serious Ghost Reveries vibes here, I love it.
I was worried when axe left the band but walt seems to have rejuvenated the band it sounds like they have so much energy, its no longer "old mans rock" as Mikael always said
Opeth never disappoints
I have the feeling that the music is taking a very interesting cinematic turn. Sounds beautiful and powerful 💥
so tempted to listen, of course... but that first taste was enough. I'm holding off... I want the rest of the album as a whole, surprises aplenty. this is a concept right, so... give it's due and hear it as a work. comments are promising tho!! Opeth rulz
Opeth keeps changing personnel over the years and still manage to get better and better ! Way to go Mikael and Co.
Certainly be picking this up on vinyl
What an album release this will be! So excited to see them on the NA tour too!
I love this song so much! Thank you, Opeth.
This is awesome! Giving me some Neal Morse Band vibes and I am here for it.
almost exact riffs from Pale Communion or Sorceress blended, this is wild! I just woke up, saw this, pressed like even before it started 🤣 can't wait \m/
This is probably the best one so far!
Have this song on repeat and as is always the case with new Opeth I have to listen to each track about 50-60 times in a row to understand all that I’m hearing. This song is magnificent. Every element is new and yet familiar. No one can put dread, despair, regret, impending doom and anticipation to music like Mikael. This fucking track, my god. It is the best prog metal yet written. It’s exceptional-I don’t know how else to put it. It’s perfect.
Other than some interesting bits here and there it's trash.
@@Maggbba Let me hear your music then?
Well, that was bloody amazing 🤯💜
