So glad to be able to witness this historic performace in person. Such a fantastic song, 1 and 3 is some of their best material IMO. My first Opeth concert, Mikeal sounded exactly like the records Very impressive
Mikael explained the concept behind their setlist, which is arranged in a V shape: growling songs and slower tempo tracks are placed in the middle. However, he mentioned that while most people think growling songs are harder to play, the opposite is true! They played fan-favorite songs from each album, and you can find those in my other videos.
@@barrettKiwinobody was sitting. I'm just surprised nobody fucked up the chairs and cleared the floor! Well these front row lottery winners were but not the rest of us lol
It's not the growls, it's the unique shifts in dynamics in the music and overall the soundscape. In my opinion, even if Mikael sang the new songs without growls, it would still scratch the itch, the fans of older material had since Heritage. For example, I don't want to talk for everybody, but Damnation doesn't have any grouls at all, distorted guitars are practically not present, but the melancholy of earlier records is still captured (which is maybe even more important), and also, I think, Damnation sounds organic, which is the most important part. I think think that you can change your sound completely, but, still, you have to sound honest and organic. Damnation has it
Opeth are a band for mature people who appreciate the music. If you want to mosh, then go and listen to some pathetic death metal band like Cannibal Corpse

We were right behind you!
I was behind you both back in row Q!!!
We need an Opeth/Dream Theater World Tour
No! DT are cringe!
@@Hellacoptersfannope
@@Hellacoptersfan Wrong. Dream Theater are top tier prog.
I’ve seen Opeth open for Dream Theater. It was at the Universal Amphitheater in L.A. I don’t remember the year, but it was amazing.
@@Hellacoptersfan wtf
See-eeeee
Monsters of rock 🔥🇧🇷🔥
Was here for this concert, one of the best concerts I’ve been to! Hoping for an upcoming tour in support of TLWAT
Awesome track and live performance.
They nailed it. Just mikael's mic was a little low (in this footage). Can't wait to hear them live in person.
We need opeth and DT collab🎉
Interesting its sound one by one like the radio edit
I thought the song should be longer
The full song is the same but with a slightly longer string arrangement in the end. Probably leading into §2 I guess. Available on Apple Music
Cara se eu for pra um show desses e precisar ficar sentada que caralho hein😅
اوپث هم آرزوست🖤🤘🏻
بلیطش واسه فردا شب گرفتم. جای شما رو هم خالی میکنیم😊
What is this concert venue? Sitting at Opeth concert should be considered a crime (except for the disabled ofc).
No entiendo porq el piublico esta sentado, Opeth es para disfrutarlo con mas ganas

WHY CHAIRS IN AN OPETH CONCERT???
Because it's not a band for pathetic people who need to go violent. Opeth are for listening/watching
Yeah I was like... wait a second, why are people SITTING haha. Should be a mosh pit going!
What the actual fuq? Really?

Yeah Tabernacle in Atlanta did this too lol
Was there an opening band on this tour?
Yeah, Tribulation was the opening band. I'll upload some short videos of them too.
I hope Mikael now realises that the growls are what made Opeth and why the fans are so happy!
nahhh, growls are part important but no the most. no all fans enjoy that.
@@earsbleedopeth started all death so yes growls are the backbone. They got plenty of clean songs tho

This has got to be the worst crowd I have ever seen. Such a shame.
It's everyone was sitting dude. Except for some assholes who were standing and blocking the view for people behind them lol.
Pretty sure the only standing venues they play now are festivals.
Why?
No wonder why they have been a dad band for a while now even with the growl.
