Revocation seem strangely unappreciated. They're just so god damn lovable. Doesn't matter if you prefer trash, tech death, hardcore, anything in between; you'll find a reason to enjoy Revocation. A friend and I are both fans of the extreme music genre, but we have considerably different tastes in style/sub-genre and we both agree that Revocation is ridiculously incredible
Dave Davidson is the new Chuck Schulinder, he writes some of the most incredibly technical and intricate compositions I've ever heard, while still retaining a profound sense of musicality. Truly amazing.
Jimmy E Moorby You might disagree with me, but I'd say part of the reason that Hendrix and Chuck get their much deserved respect isn't only the fact that they were great musicians and songwriters, but the fact that they did what they did before anyone else was doing it. Revocation is a good band, but they're very generic in 2014 compared to Death in the late 80s/ early 90s
Jimmy E Moorby People with much more knowledge about music who are much better authorities about who can be ranked against who completely disagree with what you're saying. Every guitar magazine, column, expert, etc. that knows who David Davidson is recognizes that he's the next fork in the road for recreating how metal is played.
It wasn't fanboying, it was just an opinion, and a butthurt Death fanboy probably would've embarrassed Chuck Schuldiner. So please, if you don't like my opinions, ignore them. Is your mind blown yet?
Jimmy E Moorby Also, I didn't mean they were comparable to Chuck in the sense of originality, but in song writing/structuring and technicality they're right up there with Death in the Sound of Perseverance era.
one thing I think this band gets right is the bass. the bass is clearly defined. many metal bands have the bass so low in the mix that you can't hear it
These guys are on Fire! Just discovered them watching guitarist do a Holy Wars cover. Straight up metal. No cheesy melodic vocals in the chorus. Blazing solos and technical rhythms. I’m hooked.
Im so proud of this band, they've come a long way since the last time i saw them in concert back in 2010.. keep it up guys, youre on the right direction.
If trash metal has some future ahead at all then this future is called *"Revocation"* because nothing can beat this combination of good old trash sound, brilliant and interesting riffs and still some new feeling that comes with those super heavy groovy outro riffs ...and *talent*, too
These guys fucking killed it Wednesday night during the Whitechapel/Devildriver tour. Ben Harclerode from Whitechapel came up on stage with the banjo and played that part in the beginning.
KanibaI I saw them live when Death Angel was touring for their new album, maybe it was the sound system or something but they sounded like crap. Dave's eyes were rolling back in his head when he played a solo and it just sounded like jumbled up junk....Battlecross, 3 Inches of Blood and Death Angel sounded 10x better. Maybe it's just me or that performance.
The best band of our generation by far. lots of variety, creativity, talented, revocation does what ever the fucking hell they want and make it work somehow. im sorry but no other....and i mean NO OTHER band right now is even close to this fucking band.
So I heard these guys back in 2010 or 2011. And I thought to myself - These guys are only going to get better. They seemed to have listened to a lot of old soilwork between then and 2013 and it payed off. lol. Now to check out their newer stuff! ... Hope they are still around. I forgot their name for a few years.
THIS FUCKING BAND IS MINDBLOWING. I NEED MORE. Holy Shit. START TOURING AGAIN. The most metal fucking thing I've seen in awhile. It's the pure breed perfection of how you do death metal and thrash metal perfectly.
Saw these guys at Summer Slaughter and got a new respect for them, their performance was incredible. The whole band just looked like they were having fun with it the whole time, which is a nice change in pace when every metal band seems to play their music as angry as possible. Also, this track fucking slays.
Couldn't agree more. I've seen some vídeos here on youtube of them playing to a crowd of less than 10 people. I don't get why they're not more successful. They play agressive music that at the same time is really catchy. They should come and tour europe (don't Forget Portugal!!)

Easily one of the best metal bands within the last 20 years or so.
Awesome in a live setting, too.
@@krashwilly69 I think nowadays they're getting the recognition and success they deserve
"ridiculously incredible" is spot on
"im just here for the banjo"
michael holland shit ain't that the truth
I'm just here to Binge Listen to REVOCATION!!!! ;)
Who isnt. I cut the banjopart to be my ringtone and alarm.
The opening of this reminded me of anarchy in the UK , then the banjo hit , 🤘
Me too man... Me too!
Dave Davidson is the new Chuck Schulinder, he writes some of the most incredibly technical and intricate compositions I've ever heard, while still retaining a profound sense of musicality. Truly amazing.
Technical without sacrificing musicality
Jimmy E Moorby

I can't believe Dave sings and plays leads. All the dave's in thrash seem to be really good at that....
Yeag, and this Dave is really down to earth and not a complete asshole like some other singing thrash daves.......
Chuggsbigman ayyy *brofist* from a former Metallica fan
they both sing, saw them live. sick as fuck!
+Ryan Lawrence Dave Lombardo is the king of leads and vocals in thrash
+Ryan Lawrence I hope you aren't including Dave Mustaine in this list. His voice ruins Megadeth for me.
Most underrated metal band ever..
Yea I was extremely happy to stumble across them 3 days ago. Another good band to the list.
And Black Breath. And Aggression.
it's pretty well known for a metal band.
Andres Iraci you do know under-rated and unknown do not mean the same ???
because popular=pop music
WHERE THE FUCK HAVE THESE GUYS BEEN ALL MY LIFE? That's awesome..
Playing kickass metal, probably.
I mean it's just a wild guess...
I mean, he's just stabbing in the dark here
I love the banjo opening. We need more banjo in metal. Fantastic song, lyrics, and overall performance, too!
Dave Davidson is a beast of a guitarist, and his vocals are really good, too
Never thought I'd hear a metal song with a banjo in it.
Checking that off the bucket list.
Go listen to "Divinations" by Mastodon then ;)
you won't be dissapointed
G0DJ1R4 I was not. I can't believe I'm saying this, but banjos in metal need to become a more common thing.
Amen to that^^
Panopticon plays black metal with heavy elements of American folk music. (i.e. banjos)
partying is such sweet sorrow- every time I die.
the intro gets stuck in your head for days
Nobody talks about the fucking banjo! Divinations foretold of Revocation!
Replay, replay, replay
I feel so sorry for this replay button.
The banjo solo is pretty amazing LOL! I love it!
saw them live this Saturday. You can tell how happy the singer was to be playing his music to people
These guys deserve more recognition!
Discovered this band yesterday. Man,... how can i live without this ? This band is fucking gorgeous !!!!
one thing I think this band gets right is the bass. the bass is clearly defined. many metal bands have the bass so low in the mix that you can't hear it
I feel the blues, jazz, and black metal influences.
The solo in this song is so unique and adds such an interesting twist to the song
It's all the good things from everything heavy....even got some chug in there at the end...brilliant.
Jesus Christ that was awesome
First time listening to this band. Good stuff me gusta
Warrior Tha Witt Me also gusta
this is a real band, hope to see you live one day dudes !
have u gotten to see them live yet
9 years later and still no ahah
@@Gugz68 Unfortunate :(

Revocation! God damn! i love it! :D

do you mean thrash?
Well this is awkward...
alfie...65 what exactly?
Trash or thrash?
alfie...65 i don't know actually :D not very important too. once one dude started proving me im wrong when i wrote thrash :D
I love the banjo break! That shit is hilarious, and shows me that they don't take themselves too seriously! Mad props!
I can't wait to see Revocation on tour this summer. They'll be in my hometown in June. It looks like they are killer live. Support Revocation!
I know how long it has been, but for fucks sake, the banjo is sick. We need more "unconventional" instruments in metal, music in general.
This is top notch metal. In all respects.
Almost choked on my beer when dude popped up jammin' on the banjo. That' was great.
Thank you guys for continuing to produce quality music when no one else does.
These guys fucking killed it Wednesday night during the Whitechapel/Devildriver tour. Ben Harclerode from Whitechapel came up on stage with the banjo and played that part in the beginning.
So were their riffs from their previous albums, and they had a perfect balance of guitar, drums, bass, and vocal volume.
How much talent I'm in love of this band. :)
Just heard about these guys from a Guitar World lesson.. I think they have a new fan
One of my favorite bands. Awesome.
this band is amazing i cant believe this, they get so much better with every record they put out
This band is just too perfect. It just cannot get better.
They will forever always be my favorite band I’ve been a fan since 2014
Was at this show at the Great Scott in Allston, MA. Insanity.
The best thing to happen to Metal in at least 20 years.
These guys make me feel warm and fuzzy inside
For sure one of the sickest bands to surface for a while now... Really killer band!
Too much badassery, mind overloading
I can't get over how fucking awesome Revocation are! >:D

Oh, man! Maybe they were super fucked for that show, but that's not very professional :/
+SadisticMagician13 I've seen them live twice and they sounded great both times
I'll have to see if they have anything in the UK lined up!
I saw this on the top of the Vevo Metal playlist and judged from the title that it'd be awesome, boy was I right!
The best band of our generation by far. lots of variety, creativity, talented, revocation does what ever the fucking hell they want and make it work somehow. im sorry but no other....and i mean NO OTHER band right now is even close to this fucking band.
UBERGEEKZILLA what about vektor?
David Catanus that would be my answer too
Gojira

they're still around and just released a new album! I'm seeing them live Thursday, I'm so pumped
brutal... love that 4:11 mark!
Brutal
The hardest working dudes in Metal.
the great n amazing metal... Revocation wild n beautiful....!!!
Before i was up with Angela's Arch enemy wel dis band has blown my mind away!!Simply Hell yeah!!
True roots metal with a personal blend. THIS is what metal needs to be!
This is the perfect example when the Thrash meet Technical Death, fucking amazing!
Dave Davidson, you are the MAN!!!!!
this song is so addictive, such a good mix and bad-ass riffs, dat-banjo.
this is awesome i looove how it has like 15 different types of metal in just this song :D
can't stop listening to this album. 5 metal banjos out of 5!
Bandasa increible como tocan!!!
Tienes razón
Love the energy! The tone is just fun.
That show last night was fucking awesome! I sang my heart out when they played this song.
This guys and Sylosys are the best bands around, and also the most underrated
Sylosis was good when they had Jamie. Now they just suck
Underrated metal bands that never made a single bad album Revocation and Sylosis are 2 of those bands basically.
So you got a good point there.
how have i not heard of this band until now???????
JUST now found these guys. Holy shit. This is just plain AWESOME.
The drummers Lo Pan tattoo is one of the greatest things I've ever seen
these guys out on one hell of a show!
If you listen all this song complete until the end, and you didn't like... something is really wrong with you.
something is wrong with me :'(
Si algo esta mal contigo
Qué sería del mundo si todos fuéramos iguales...
is there something wrong with me if i got to the end and i came without touching myself????????????
headass
THIS FUCKING BAND IS MINDBLOWING. I NEED MORE. Holy Shit. START TOURING AGAIN. The most metal fucking thing I've seen in awhile. It's the pure breed perfection of how you do death metal and thrash metal perfectly.
I'm here for that sick bluesy riff they got. This band got it all. dadgum.
Gotta love the up-beat groovy technical, jazz/blues influenced guitar solos in the middle of songs telling of impending doom ect :D :D
Absolutely love those guys…..
Come to The Netherlands 🇳🇱
Damn, this is the shit. So glad I was led here by a Holy Wars cover with Troy, Mastodon
Banjo for the win 🤘
These guys were awesome in Perth last week.
these guys are great. They are all so cool and make some unique thrash!
one of the best pieces of metal ever
They were AMAZING at Summer Slaughter. Didn't know about them until I saw them play. Not disappointed at all
Yeah, this deserve something more than Vevo. But great for promoting this music
Now that's the most refreshing new metal out there!!!! Finally!!!
They are a pack with all my music influences.
One of the best live bands I've ever witnessed. So fucking raw but lock tight.
Amazing guitar solo! as always.
heard banjo... thought it was a rob scallon cover
Cd (REVOCATION) in my bookcase, vid in my favs. Thanx 4 vid.
It's like the inverse of Billy Strings. He does bluegrass music with metal riffs, but this is metal with bluegrass riffs. Sick!
They went to seven strings? Beast
nice Crossover!!!! i lovin' it!!!!
I fucking love this band. Bought two albums by them last night. When I get paid next week I'm buying the lot. Real music this is
This kicks ass! Awesome! Just discovered these guys as well
Hearing a banjo played in this was enough for me to add this to a playlist..
REVOCATION is the new Revolution of Heavy Riffing Metal of Madness \m/
the lead singer stance and expressions remind me so much of static x xD awesome

This was the first song that i´ve heard of this album, and it kicked my ass!! lml,
I hope you guys come to Australia soon
They're touring with thy art is murder in Australia now. Fucking age limits prevent me though
If by now you mean the tour in December ?
thanks for the heads up though mate , \m/
