I am 19 years old. 3 months ago I got a bad flu which left me feeling tired and brain foggy today. The temperature may rise to 37.4. I was told that maybe my body is fighting the herpes virus. Then I took tests, everything was normal except for lymphocytes of 63% and low granulocytes. Now I had an MRI of the brain (they found cysts on both sides), a test for thyroid hormones, and fluorography for diabetes mellitus. Everything was clean, I re-tested the usual blood test and everything is also normal except for lymphocytes 47%, the symptoms persist. Today my throat started to hurt and my voice was changing. The day before yesterday I sang a lot and smoked electronic cigarettes, I smoked and before that I drank very hot teas, and yesterday I also smoked an electronic cigarette. Today these throat symptoms started without smoking. What happened with me. Can I have throat cancer at 19? And what's wrong with me anyway?
Morning time temp is 98.6.. middle after noon it is 99.5..evening time at 6.00pm it will be 99.9... Is it fever? What is the reason for increasing temperature??
99.5 is equivalent to 37.5 here. The upper part of normal but As mentioned in the video, everyone has their own normal and there are factors to consider. A single reading is not a trend. If you have concerns, check in with your health care provider.
NurseMinder Thank you for your answer! I measure my temperature often , rectally because I think it's more accurate. I watched the video but I didn't hear the method used to measure the temperature because when I measure my temp orally at night it's no more than 37.1 Celsius , but rectally it is about 37.5. I read a lot about temperature but I wanted to know from a nurse because who can possibly know more about body temperatures than nurses? So, do you think an oral temperature of 37.1 and 37.5 rectal temp is normal based on your experience with your pacients? I used to worry a lot because I have some swollen lymph nodes in my neck . I went to 2 doctors and they said they are fine but because I read about those diseases and their impact on temperature I got worried and measured it often in the past months. Also, do you know how high the temperatures are in those diseases related to lymph nodes? Thank you very much and sorry for this long question.
Why does no one seem to know How high is too high, and what to do you? I feel like i have pulled every muscle in my body from shivering. First day is 37.2 then went higher at 37.4, following days dips to 36,but then head feels warm to touch, this eighth day reading is 37.4, have cough by the way...feeling fatigued and some rashes at back by the way, could this rashes be because of perspiring between the first day and sixth day ...? Am thinking to go for swab test....please advise
For women, during our cycle, our temperatures go up as well don’t they? But do they go up drastically or just change a little. For example from 98.6 to 99?
I have an ear infection and have a fever but besides my ear hurting I feel fine... like I was feeling fine but disided to check my temperature and was shocked when I saw 38° on it.

I am recently recovered from Covid. Still My body temperature ( oral) is always around 99.5 F . Although Doctors are saying ,it is normal to shift the body thermostat from 98.4 to 99.4F ( post viral syndrome), i am little freaking out
Understandable. Covid can kill. So can cancer, choking, and car accidents (weird - they all start with the letter c) Stop freaking out 😉 you are among the 90+ percent that survived. Live life my friend
I'm freaked out. My temp is 38.1C. I tested negative for covid 4 days ago but now I'm worried I either caught something at the assessment center or got a false negative??
A temp can be related to many things. Your covid screening was only a point in time assessment. This means the only question it can answer is: did you have covid in your nose/mouth secretions at the moment you were swabbed. If you have concerns I would connect with your healthcare team.
I have noticed that I can touch 37.5 and even 37.6 (taken orally)sometimes in the afternoons...always have normalish results in the morning and evenings. I don't usually feel "feverish" at these higher temperatures. Is that a cause for concern? Also, is it true that tympanic thermometers give higher temperatures? I'm thinking of purchasing one, but dont wanna freak myself out if it gives higher readings.
Each thermometer type will have different “normal” ranges. If you feel well, don’t take your temp. If you feel unwell, use it as a baseline. There are many factors that can affect a temp reading: if you smoke or drink fluids within 20 min before a test, it can change the readings
The fever is low grade and may or may not have a cause we can find. Sometimes we do testing on patients and cannot find the reason. As with all health concerns, if you are worried or have questions contact your healthcare team.
Hi Nurse! Thank you for this info. I was in the same boat as Sayara. Back at the end of Feb, I had high grade fever that lasted 2 weeks. It was a remitted fever and it would peak at nighttime. It sounds like your healthcare team has completed some investigations. If you completed your antibiotics and did not miss a dose, and noticed improvement, then it sounds like the plan was the right one. If you missed doses, then you may be seeing the impact of this as the fever has returned. A repeat x-ray may be helpful to visualize the changes in the lung. is 99.2 considered as low grade fever? i have it from past one week, paracetamol is not working
First I have to translate that into celcius lol .. I don't work in F at all! when I convert it, 99.2 is equivalent to 37.3 C ...depending on your normal temps (as mentioned seniors have lower thresholds), this looks like a normal reading
@@NurseMinder Thank you for responding :)
37.5 is fever
Depends on the person
@@NurseMinder for an adult with cough? It's not a fever? With some rashes at back....
Bandi kuch samaj me nahi aa raha hai you speaking to hindi
22 .2 is that good
Depends on what you are testing ...??
My temperatures was 99.1 today. Should I be concerned. I do feel a little weird.
A temperature reading is only a number and as healthcare providers we need so much more info. Your healthcare team can better support you if you have concerns :)
NurseMinder thank you for responding back.
