Come to NW Mo, mig welder, electrical experience, not going to work daily so lots of free labor and help. Can even spray some paint lol Maybe a climb thru window from the cab to the back would be a cool safety feature to have!
If you have a fire, that hatch is your ticket to survival. Think where to put it so it won't get blocked by all the good things you build in the back. Maybe plan to use it to avoid rain and cold outside - then it will always be clear. Also - fire and carbon monoxide detectors are affordable - fit them soon, then bad things happening at night can't become really bad... Have fun - if I was 40 years younger the road would be tempting me too.
@@lardo666 Also, getting from the domestic area to the driver's seat without going outside is a plus if weird sh!t goes down and you have to leave in a hurry.
Yes! That is a must have in these box rigs. Not to mention, RV regulations mandate a secondary egress path. I'd think she'd have that covered with an egress window in the sleeping area though. And it's not so much as for an “escape” (Though equally important for a solo camper.), but as an: “It’s pouring down rain hatch.” They are actually pretty easy to fabricate/install on these boxes. Pass-Through seals are cheap. The center jump seat is easily removable. She really doesn’t have a choice, regardless. And let's not forget how much Finn would appreciate it.
At 70 yrs old now I can assure you that life is never certain but the moving forward is always worth the effort. Doing something even if you don't know how doesn't mean you can't do it or at least try. There is almost always more than one way to do something don't let the YT EXPERTS tell you are doing it wrong, you're just doing it different. Don't scrimp on the safety items like electricity and wiring. Always fix the small things or else they will turn into huge things. You'll do it and it will be great.
i wish i saw this video a year from now so i could just binge watch how steve gets built and becomes a home. mariah takes us thru such a heartwarming story over the last few videos
I just bought an e450 shuttle bus myself. "The wheels on my hoome go... round and round, round and round... round and round. The wheels on my home go round and round, so early in the morning". Maybe one day we'll run into each other on the road.
Months ago you inspired me to retire early (I’m 53) buy a van, and build it out. Van arrived in Nov. and I’ve been on the road for 2 weeks now. I learned how to use power tools, wire up electrical, and put in plumbing. Is it perfect? Nope! In some places the trim needed trim to hide mistakes, but I did it. I built my home. You’re right to follow your heart because love builds your soul
Really????? OMG! That’s awesome, Mariah!!!!! My most sincere congratulations for this new companion 🚐😍😍😍. I can’t wait seeing you enjoying it from the very begging to a whole world of new adventures in your life 😊😊😊. What a piece of news!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Lady, I have followed you from the beginning and you are capable of more than you think ! The smile on your face, the enthusiasm in your voice tells me this will be a success and your own when done. Patiently waiting for your build videos! Oh and your first batch of pancakes in the new home 🙂
Congratulations Mariah! I love following your adventures. You have been an inspiration to me to follow my dream. I've purchased a converted Ford transit van and will start living out of it ,on the road within the year. Maybe someday our paths may cross. All the best and safe travels . PS. My adventures started in Alaska this June and I'll be here in Homer untill January. Then back to FL. To where my van waits for me.
have to admit that this scares the crap out of me. Good luck! Something you said a long time ago stuck with me. You took a break from your van and did car camping for a few days in California and mentioned how it allowed you to make more adventurous choices because the car was small and nimble. I hope the van does not hold you back from adventures because of size or being older. Recently you mentioned you did think a lot about places you wanted to go and how a bigger rig could get into 80% of them so I know you have thought about this. I am going small for my rig because of what you said and the freedom it allows me. Always a fan! Can't wait to see what you learn in the build process.
The U-Haul is a good choice, they use a really well built box. It’s corners are aluminum and very strong unlike many others that use fiberglass or plastic. They E-series is one of the best commercial grade platforms. I has 2 that went well over 300k miles. One thing you’ll have to do is watch the wear on the front tires. The front bushings tend to wear and through off the alignment. Everything else is over built. These vans can also be converted to 4x4. Checkout Brandon Gross’s ambulance build and Cole Webb’s U-Haul build. Cole did exactly what it looks like you want to do. Also, this platform was in production from 1992-2014, so parts are plentiful. Checked out your Patreon.
Hey Mariah, I offered a "security hack" on your video about a U-Haul rental. I don't know if you caught it? Well here it is again. Since your "cube" van does not have a "pass through" to the front cab and no other visible doors. To secure yourself inside. Take a pair of vise-grip pliers and with the roll-up door closed. Lock the vise-grip pliers in the wheel channel, behind the last wheel. This will prevent anyone from opening the roll-up door. Pop the vise-grips open and pull up the door. Also the vise=grips will come in handy for other things. Stay safe on the road, Big John. 🤔😁😎
I’ve watched the last few of your videos and have enjoyed them so much! My little white chihuahua mix dog passed away in January and I have grieved more than I expected. He was 14 and was my little buddy, like your dog. His name was Steve! So when you named your new truck Steve I squealed a little!! You are so inspiring!! Can’t wait to see how you transform Steve and create your new home!! Watching from Houston 😊
Oh gosh one thing I hope that you do is to make an entryway from the inside of the box truck to get into the cab. That way you can get out of weird situations whether it's weather related or a bear is bugging you or some weirdo person. That way if you're sleeping you can just get up and go right straight into the cab instead of having to get out to get into the cab. I have a shuttle bus and that's exactly why I bought one so I wouldn't have to get out of a camper to get to the front of the truck to get out of a weird situation. Anyway keep on keeping on toots! I can't wait to see your creation....
Congrats on the new rig! Will be interesting to see your build out progress over time. I’m sure you have plenty of ideas to mull over as you start the work. If you can work it in a side door would be a cool addition. Have fun!
Ive been watching you for a while now and if no one has told you lately. Im proud of you. You have grown so much inside and out. You can see happiness all over your face and it looks good on you. Stay happy my friend
I'm super excited to watch you create a life with Steve! FYI you do make sense, some of us understand exactly how you feel. Edit to add, keep following your intuition, instinct and you can't go wrong... mostly 😁❤
Ok, so. I have been watching your blogs for maybe 2 or more years, I have seen the everyday ups and downs of your life. I have never commented on any of them as didnt want to be seen as just another old guy watching a young woman, but feel the need to now. I wish more people would have your outlook on life, it's there to be lived, to be shared, to be loved but mainly to do with it as we please. You do that. I am proud of all my children, I hope your family are proud of you. I would be proud to have you as a daughter..
Wow! A Box truck!? Didn’t see that coming! But I know it’s going to be amazing when you are done converting it! You a such a strong person!! So excited for you and Finn for this next chapter!! ❤
VERY KOOL!!! FOR 22 YEARS I'VE DRIVEN A 16' BOX TRUCK FOR WORK AND EVERY TIME I'M IN IT, NOT A DAY GOES BY THAT I DON'T PICTURE/PLAN OUT IN MY HEAD ABOUT HOW EASY AND KOOL IT'D BE TO BUILD IT OUT AND LIVE IN IT. I ENVY YOU. GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY TRAVEL ADVENTURES! BTW...I THINK I'D HAVE THAT TRUCK LOOKED OVER REALLY WELL BY A GOOD MECHANIC IF YOU CAN. JUST FOR THE PEACE OF MIND... GREAT VIDEO!!!!!
I don't normally comment but I have watched all your videos. This is honestly so exciting. I'm so happy you are sharing this experience. Can't wait for what is to come. Good luck! You'll do amazing regardless of what happens because you did it!
I don't have any idea why UA-cam suggested your videos to me. I saw the one in Utah where it snowed and then just wanted to see how you were doing, so I came straight to your newest video. I adore your box van. I often think about converting the exact box van style you've got there. You haven't done it yet, obviously, but I love that you're going to put in a bath tub. My greatest joy in the world is a nice hot bath. A box van with a tub in the back...perfection. I actually have a dream to build a van/bus/something into a mobile onsen/japanese bath house. You don't need to know that, but yeah, a bath in a box van...I love it. Water storage/weight is probably going to be your biggest problem, but you seem to have a good thinker in that noggin, so I have no doubt you can pull it off if it's important enough for you. Not that its important, but I completely understand your reasons for flying to florida to get the van. You are doing it right. Also, please, 2006 isn't that old. Keep up on the maintenance and she'll treat you right. I'm not sure about the name Steve, but I get it. I truly wish I could be living the box van life also, but that just wasn't in the cards yet. Maybe some day. Honestly, I think I'll end up south of the boarder, someplace with sloths, but again, you didn't need to know that. Any, I'm kinda a bit socially awkward and have no idea how to end this comment, so...yeah, keep it up and rock on.
Congrats on your new truck! I know you will turn it into your perfect home. A word of caution when you come back to Florida, if you are near any lakes or ponds, make sure to have your dog on a leash and close to you. Gators love little dogs. Best of luck with the build. I look forward to following your progress.
Every now and again UA-cam will put one of these van life videos in my recommendation feed. Being I'm a truck driver with over 11 years on the road, I like to point out some security concerns. I noticed that there's no way for you to be able to directly get into the cab, from what will be your living/sleeping area. If there was a situation, where you needed to leave a parking spot in a hurry, having a way to enter the cab from the box. In the end, it would be also a matter of convenience too. It'll be much easier to retrieve something out of the cab area if you're in the back, or vice-versa if you're in the cab, and need to quickly get something in the back, if there was a doorway between the cab and back area. Just spitballing ideas, as I sit here bored and waiting for my truck to be unloaded.
@Kaci yeah, I just went back and looked at one of the more recent videos. It appears I didn't see that she had already done so when I made my comment. It's relieving to see she addressed this prior to my comment. I'll be more observant next time.
I absolutely love seeing the excitement in your eyes and hearing it in your voice! I agree with you Mariah, that box truck is already more you than the van ever was. Not that the van wasn’t nice. It’s just a feeling I got when you first rented the U-Haul. Can’t wait to see what’s to come!😁
I like to hear that compassion in your voice. The excitement and joy. I’m so glad to hear that you are following your dreams. I wish I would have done the same. I don’t know you but just saying I am proud of you for doing what you are doing. Have fun and be safe out there. Maybe God bless your journey through life.
Your stop in Pensacola beach is our favorite vacationing spot. I know exactly where you were. You are very resourceful with your “van plan”. I planned to do the exact same thing. But, we bought a cargo trailer & rigged it ourselves for travel the same as you are doing. Very simple & we love it. Godspeed!
I am so freaking excited for you and Finn - also the fact that you can build a bed in that upper loft has me reconsidering my whole life and whether or not I should upgrade my rig 😂
Was this mentioned/hinted as a plan... because that was my absolute first though when I saw it ("well, that's where the bed will go") but... it sounded like she had other plans for it. And what about... "guest bed?" ... That upper space is practically a whole guest room! And, she already has a couch/bed/bathtub, and a lot of ideas. Alas... we wait.
Enjoy it while you're young and healthy. I'm 41 now and starting to have heart problems. I'd love to do what you're doing but I don't think I'll ever be able to now. I'll have to live vicariously through your videos!
Love the name and your excitement about this. Poor Finn is not sure what is happening and really just wants to know where his warm bed went but he looks like he is hanging in there.
I think it’s Awesome what you are doing. You are young and adventurous and now it the time. Im 56 going on 57 in February and it goes fast. I was in my 20’s like yesterday. I wish I did what you are doing. Best of luck and Im looking forward to your build progress
The east coast is such a paradise when compared to the west coast with the possible exception of weather. Individual, feelings, and emotions seem to be the top priorities in the west. Community, family, and freedoms are the top priorities in the east. Best of luck with your new build. Safe travels.
Dear Mariah. I am a 54-year old woman from Austria, having watched 3 of your videos I have just subscribed and I wanted to tell you: you are the reason I am definitely going to follow in your footsteps 😃😃😃 I'm serious!! I am going to tour Europe in a van (I have one in mind, check out the Monocoque Wingamm OASI 540 Fiat), meet foreigners, learn about their culture and country, and finally pursue my literary ambitions. I am no longer afraid of it and I owe this to you 😊. Thank you😘, you are incredible, keep going 👍 Love from Lis 🇦🇹
That’s awesome, over the last year I’ve built a house by myself and the best advice I can give is take it one precut at a time and before you know it you will be done and have a bunch of new skills and tools.
I got the 07 version of that truck from Uhaul 3 years ago. I have a floating queen bed, 900 amp hours of gel batteries, 700 watts residential solar, a hatch, two fans and a deck on the roof, swing doors with drop bolts, a pass through, a desk where you’ve planned your desk and shower where you planned your kitchen. I love it. It kicks ass and I have not spent base promaster money on it yet. Get motorcraft plugs and coils as soon as you can. The OEM ones can fail in ways that kill the engine. 10 ply sidewall AT tires are good as are airbag bump stops on your rear leaf springs. Also protect your Catalytic Converter. It is very easy to take and not cheap to replace. I’m working on the latter after experiencing the former. The ramp pulled out to four or five feet does not have room to drop making a very nice outdoor workbench. Look at superstrut in the electrical isle of the next Home Despot or Lols you stop in. Along with more space, weight is now much less of an issue for you. You canz haz nice things!
Congrats! Fun for me to watch as an ex Uhaul truck is how i started my van journey! Ended up selling mine since it was much larger and overkill for just me, but yours sounds perfect!
I keep watching all these box truck episodes over and over. It gets me excited about my own journey. Just so happens, this episode was uploaded the day after I bought my box truck. I still have tons of work to do but maybe we will cross paths one day. 😊
This is so exciting! Glad that you're pursuing all the things that just feel right. I'm working on that. You've probably already watched the youtube van build of Linnea and Akela ... she explained so clearly how she set up her electrical system. Then had another build helping her brother with a cargo truck, like yours! Looking forward to seeing your van build!
Not. At. All. What I was expecting 😂😂😂 and yet, it fits. Glad to have you back! (Even if it’s sporadic). Can’t wait to follow your build out. Congratulations. 🎉
A box truck conversion into a recording studio is my van life dream! Found you channel via your van videos as im buying a sprinter tomorrow, scary haha. Funniest thing is im out of at Augustine so stones through from Orlando haha idk funny synchronicity 🤷🏼♂️
You and Steve will be a fine couple. Even before you meet Steve, you had a first date with one of his younger cousins. Now you are both made for each other..... Congrats! PS. As someone below already mention, Steve needs to allow you to move directly into the driver's area from the back....then you will both be ready for adventures in building an living!
I did this same thing with a box truck, I built it out as more a rough and tumble work and play rig. Drove it from Missouri to Alaska to Wyoming, I miss that little home on wheels!!
You are a very brave young lady with the world at your feet ! Enjoy your journey and enjoy life as you obviously are ! I worked as a mechanic at uhaul ,these trucks are very well built ,Good luck in your new adventure !! You only live life once and live to create memories ! 20 years from now you will look back at this time in your life and smile 😃
Think you helped me make my choice. Been back and forth on a van and a box truck. Thank you! First time I've seen your videos as well and I'm looking forward to seeing your journey.
I am a contractor who travels and lives all over the place for work. I purchased a trailer sailboat and lived on it for quite a while and now have a short, 35 ft school bus. I technically have an address at a friend's house but I am on the bus more than I am there. It is very spartan at the moment but I really enjoy it. My plans are to one day have it fully outfitted to be able to do disaster relief work but I do want it self sustaining first. Enjoy your journey and never let anybody make you feel small for not living what they consider a normal life.
Wow, you are one adventurous and courageous young lady. I own a 2016 Chevy Express Cutaway with a 17' box that I would love to convert into a home on wheels but I'm not as brave as you! Safe travels!
Hi Maria. I’ve only just started following you and watching your story unfold. Your a really inspiration. I live on Motor Yacht and have just purchased my first Camper van. It’s already been converted but I can’t wait to get started by putting my own stamp on it. Look forward to the amazing journey that’s now ahead of you. Stay strong. You can definitely do this. I can’t wait see the outcome. Kind regards and respect to you. Andy x
One thing to know about Florida. Any inland body of water can have alligators. Never get close to the edge of the bank where they can drag you or your pet in. They are very stealthy and extremely fast and strong.
Awesome!!!!!! I so get the “no more hotels” feeling. It’s the main reason we got a van (and I’m now wishing we had gotten a box truck instead) to travel in. We don’t live in our van full time, just vacation time, because I really don’t like sleeping in hotels, in beds so many others have slept in 😳. I’m so looking forward to seeing what your new home will look like 🥰
WOW! All I can say is, The adventure continues... Good luck, I can't wait to see how the new rig comes out. You have 2 years experience on the road. You know what you need to do to get it done. Just keep your head together. Think positive, and you will be fine. Your a smart woman, good luck and have fun. If you get stressed out just take Finn for a walk and relax. Your doing the right thing. I wish I was still young enough to do what you do. Enjoy the adventure. Best wishes.
Outstanding! I just stumbled on this video now. Thank you so very much for this precious little video. I will watch it with my teenager child and my wife. Thank you and greetings from the Algarve.
I love your layout I hope it goes well but no matter what in the end it will be worth it. A few years ago I flew from Denver to San Diego and bought a small school bus and drove it 1200 miles back. The whole way back wondering what did I do but now it’s pretty much done and I camp a lot in it. I’m 64 and retired 8 months ago so I got a late start.
i'm so surprised the have purchased this u haul as you call them in USA . i thought you had finished with van life . o well out chasing rainbows again is exciting . have fun hope you find what you are looking for .
i traveled for my company and lived in a hotel for 9 months during the pandemic. it's mentally exhausting. i bought a tent just to go camp on my 2 days every week. can't wait to see the next chapter for you
Yesterday, I just bought my first small van to convert. 50 miles to view it, then the same again to bring it home. If it had been 3000 miles away it would still be there. Admire your courage.
I think you made the right choice. With a little work you can create a fantastic new home and survive anything, go anywhere. Solar panels, water, fuel....you can do anything! Good luck!
Jeez, there's so many things you can do to that thing. I'd remove the overhead door & put in a back wall with a door like Brian the Adventurevanman did and make a hatch or access door so you can get to the cargo compartment from the cab without having to go outside. Plus it would allow you to bug out safely if something was going on outside & you needed to get away. This build is going to be a lot of fun to watch.
You made a good choice. It has a very heavy duty chassis and parts will be easy to get. The engines in these trucks will go many miles easily. Change the oil every 5K miles full synthetic. If you ever come to Maryland you have a safe place to park and fun place to explore.
It seems to be a good rig! One thing I would suggest is installing a backup camera---this week end I rented a car with one and it helps a lot----Just keep smiling and growing! You're well loved!
You are so brave and so ... powerful... I am not sure you realize. You are doing something great and you are living your dream. You will never forget these times and keep up the great work. For the rest of us that are not brave and not powerful. Follow your heart, it seems to be doing a great job so far.
I've been following you for a couple months now and you gave me chills when you came to my town, Pensacola! I'm so excited you took the time to enjoy a rainy day here 🌧️🤗 Looking forward to the next part of your story!
Nice project , firstly a cut through together with a gasket for water ingress then you have a fire exit from the front and rear of the truck without large holes in the roof except for vents , your layout I presume is your bed over the cab but a warning hear watch your weight they are not very strong over the cab builds and can collapse . nice straight sides make for an easier fit out plus you can sleep sideways , Good Luck will be following from the UK.
Congrats on your new home. I felt you were going with a box truck after your post with the U-Haul you just seemed really excited even though you were in a tent in a truck. I could help with helping you to understand what could be possible with your electrical system design.
Everytimem I see someone doing there van life is making me hella jealous of there life possibilities....keep up the good work! Whish one day that I would be doing van life like you, and everyone else I watch on you tube.
When you said it's a big deal but it's not because it's the beginning isn't true. If it makes you happy and it makes you excited then it is 100 percent a big deal. There are things in my life that I sometimes get happy or proud of or excited about but I always get this feeling of dread so I never tell people about it. The fact that you're sharing the journey is an amazing first step 😁😁
Congrats Mariah, A box truck is a better option, you can deck it up as nice as you want inside and still remain stealth outside not calling attention to yourself... good call.. for safety . ill probably get a couple of those next year 1 to grow hydroponic fruit and veggies.. the other one to live in... good channel.. send hugs your way
Following your visions, your dreams, in the "Now" is truly adventurous and dynamic. You are, AWESOME GREAT Mariah... for real!!! I've been looking for a ProMaster, or an older Sprinter, for over a year. And here you've accomplished selling your van, flying completely across the country, bought this unique, roomy, bigger vehicle to vanlife in more comfortable, then you drove all the way back to your familiar "homeland area" and are getting ready to build your vision, and Mariah, I'm still looking for my next vanlife vehicle (I've been vanlife living for 20.9 years as a minimulist in a minivan, and yes, loving it yet dreaming of upgrading to a high roof style...and you have done something about your visions... your dreams... and have made incredible progress, even if you change your mind..... you are "DOING IT" ... not procrastinating, like me. I am SOOOOOOO IMPRESSED ABOUT YOU MARIAH!!!!! SO, IMPRESSED👍👍👍 Btw...I subscribed to you a long time ago, and I'm such a fan. I actually vanlife on the beaches, just east of MCO (your Orlando airport) in the Cocoa Beach to Melbourne Beach, Florida east coast and go into the Atlantic Ocean pretty much every day, for hours and hours as I LOVE the healthy ocean life. Generally, from about November through April, I'm in the ocean, then from May through October in the Rocky Mountains from near Boulder, Colorado to the mountains and deserts around Sedona, Arizona, year after year. Also I used to include Humboldt and Santa Cruz, California, yet have skipped California for the past 6-ish years. Anyways..... I'm so super impressed with you in making your visions and dreams happen Mariah, even if you change your mind, or continue. You're always allowed to make adjustments, and completely change your mind if youwant to, and no matter what, "its okay" .... it's all, okay. Here I am, still in my minivan (Toyota Sienna), and that's okay as well. It's all okay. I actually like a minivan as it's super stealth, adding to the freedom. And there are pros and cons to everything pretty much. One day I'll have a Sprinter, or, what ever. Its all okay, either way. Bottom line..... is you are "doing it" ..... following your visions and dreams. Sending you lots of calm love Mariah from the clear blue refreshing Atlantic Ocean of Daytona Beach Shores, Florida, where I've made it, and have a temporary oceanfront studio to avoid the heat for a few months and be in the cool blue ocean just super chilling it. And that's okay as well!!! It's all okay Mariah👍👍👍 Remember, "...it's okay!" You are indeed, amazing and loved by many thousands!!! 💦🌊🧜♀️💦🌊🎶
Nice! No less reliable than a new one Mariah just keep up with all maintenance. Hoping to see you share your floor plan and build. Great luck with new plan.
Congrats girl on the new wheels….after watching you for a while I have to agree that the Truck is the much better option…..I loved your van so that build shows me that the Boxie is perfect….you will have actual living zones….you are great at putting an idea together so this journey is going to be informative and fun….Mariah you have more of a skill set than you think….seeing you driving across country taught me that…..I can’t wait for what is ahead…..you ROCK!….
I am very happy for you. Move onward with your happiness and dreams. You are so blessed that your plans are falling into place and that you are living the lifestyle that you love. What is your little dog's name? I could see how much he enjoys being with you and the travels you have taken him to. You are a good example to people (young and old) who are dreaming of an independent life in this big and beautiful country. Just a word of advice, always be "safe" and be "cautious" with people you don't know. Godspeed to you and your little friend. Reggie AC of Nevada
Some advice (you may already know) from a builder. Do not skimp on insulation and sound proofing. Look into hydronic radiant heated floors. Be mindful of moisture to prevent mold and consider building a bed as high up as possible in case your hit by a car. Think of building in a hidden safe for valuables. A box truck with an elevating bed system is def. Next on my list. Congrats on the purchase looking forward to watching your journey with Steve.
Glad you stopped in Pensacola! I moved to Pensacola 11 years ago, it's nice here. If you ever want to come back let me know and I can show you around town.
Just came across your channel while randomly looking at van/truck builds. I'm kinda glad I found it now, cuz I get to see the build of the new box truck from the start! :D Congrats! Also, the dog is adorable.
Wow, great..! Well, Mariah, you're good for surprises. Now its time to pull the shirt sleeves up and get the job done for next conversion. Wonder, how long time it will take...? Just let the cam run with the progress. And meanwhile sleep well in your home bed, with all nice dreams what will come out of it..! 💪😊
Hey sweet girl 😊👋not sure if you’ve thought of this yet but, would you consider getting a Murphy bed for you and Finn, then when you’ve finished sleeping you can pack it up, have extra room and have a table connected to it. They have beds like that - with tables attached so that when it’s on the upright position there’s a table. Food for thought 😊
Yay congratulations! Something similar to what I'd like to build. Glad you're not over here at the moment with the the hurricane coming in this week. Look forward to seeing this build. Stay safe!
LMFAO the minecraft fire and music!!!! I bought a 24 foot box truck a year ago and haven't looked back! Enjoy the build, hopefully patreons let your creative side flow!
Oh yayyy congratulations that is so kool,I can't wait to see the build and ur journey to get there..ty so much for sharing your beautiful adventures with me.💜✌
Welcome to season two ;)
PS: If anyone knows 12v electrical wizards in the western US and/or tig welders, pls dm me on instagram
How far west? I know lots of people in the Oklahoma area...
Come to NW Mo, mig welder, electrical experience, not going to work daily so lots of free labor and help. Can even spray some paint lol Maybe a climb thru window from the cab to the back would be a cool safety feature to have!
Check out Maker Space to build and use tools and park!
Should see if Pimp My Ride is still in business! 😉. Ford makes solid vehicles. Good choice
Congratulations 🎉❤🏕💐
Congrats on the new rig! Make sure you have an escape hatch into the drivers compartment.
I second that.
And it's not so much as for an “escape” (Though equally important for a solo camper.), but as an: “It’s pouring down rain hatch.”
They are actually pretty easy to fabricate/install on these boxes. Pass-Through seals are cheap. The center jump seat is easily removable. She really doesn’t have a choice, regardless. And let's not forget how much Finn would appreciate it.
JKFlorida, what a great idea! For sure!

53 year old male living in NY 100% agrees
She's BACK... and we are happy again :)
A long path of new growth, learning, fun, and memories lay ahead, Mariah.
GO GET YOURS.
i love the idea of a vehicle hundreds or thousands of people used to transition from one home to another becoming a home itself ❤
i wish i saw this video a year from now so i could just binge watch how steve gets built and becomes a home. mariah takes us thru such a heartwarming story over the last few videos
I thought the same thing! I’m also going to watch her channel grow because of it!
I just bought an e450 shuttle bus myself. "The wheels on my hoome go... round and round, round and round... round and round. The wheels on my home go round and round, so early in the morning". Maybe one day we'll run into each other on the road.
Aww you can see how excited she is about this. Can't wait to see what you do with the box truck. Congrats!
All the best and safe travels
. PS. My adventures started in Alaska this June and I'll be here in Homer untill January. Then back to FL. To where my van waits for me.
Do you have any plans to UA-cam?
have to admit that this scares the crap out of me.
Oh thank God, I was scared you were gonna get an apartment, looking forward to watching Steve evolve.
Finn just melts my heart. He’s so precious! I am so excited for your new journey and can’t wait to see how you build out your new home 😊
The east coast is such a paradise when compared to the west coast with the possible exception of weather. Individual, feelings, and emotions seem to be the top priorities in the west. Community, family, and freedoms are the top priorities in the east. Best of luck with your new build. Safe travels.
So excited for phase 2! Hopefully you can make it though NM again! I’ll keep an eye out for a super fly ford box truck. 😊
Good for you Mariah! You are going do great building out your new home. Excited to follow you on this new journey.
Seeing the emotional end to the last van and now the opening title as #1 is truly impactful.
Congrats! Fun for me to watch as an ex Uhaul truck is how i started my van journey! Ended up selling mine since it was much larger and overkill for just me, but yours sounds perfect!
Can’t wait to see what you create with Steve! Congrats to you both!
I keep watching all these box truck episodes over and over. It gets me excited about my own journey. Just so happens, this episode was uploaded the day after I bought my box truck. I still have tons of work to do but maybe we will cross paths one day. 😊
I can’t wait to see what it will look like once it’s finished!
Your dog looks identical to my chihuahua/JRT mix. Our Missy will be 18 in December.
Living in a box! Go Mariah!
Love to Finn xx
This is so exciting! Glad that you're pursuing all the things that just feel right. I'm working on that.
You've probably already watched the youtube van build of Linnea and Akela ... she explained so clearly how she set up her electrical system. Then had another build helping her brother with a cargo truck, like yours! Looking forward to seeing your van build!
Not. At. All. What I was expecting 😂😂😂 and yet, it fits. Glad to have you back! (Even if it’s sporadic). Can’t wait to follow your build out. Congratulations. 🎉
this made me giggle omg, thanks!
@Those Happy Days have a gorgeous truck, have a look at their layout.
Looking forward to seeing the build journey and new adventures! ❤
The 12’ box is my favorite platform! Building my 2nd one right now!
i'm so surprised the have purchased this u haul as you call them in USA . i thought you had finished with van life . o well out chasing rainbows again is exciting . have fun hope you find what you are looking for .
i traveled for my company and lived in a hotel for 9 months during the pandemic. it's mentally exhausting. i bought a tent just to go camp on my 2 days every week. can't wait to see the next chapter for you
Yesterday, I just bought my first small van to convert. 50 miles to view it, then the same again to bring it home. If it had been 3000 miles away it would still be there. Admire your courage.
Happy for you! I think you are so brave. Been watching your videos for a while. Always happy when I see you posted. God Bless you and keep you safe!
You go girl ....I did it to my conversion van....everything my self. Great journey
Thanks for the idea, I've already found some for sale in my area. Most have around a 100k miles on them. Good luck with your build!
I've been following you for a couple months now and you gave me chills when you came to my town, Pensacola! I'm so excited you took the time to enjoy a rainy day here 🌧️🤗
Looking forward to the next part of your story!
SO, IMPRESSED👍👍👍
Btw...I subscribed to you a long time ago, and I'm such a fan.
It's all okay
Mariah👍👍👍
Remember, "...it's okay!" You are indeed, amazing and loved by many thousands!!!
💦🌊🧜♀️💦🌊🎶
Good luck with your new rig!
Congratulations on your new home. Been away for a while and it's nice to watch your videos again. Best wishes and safe travels 🌞🤙🌈
Watched 3 of your videos and all I can say you are a total badass. The van was awesome, the box truck will be even more awesome.
The Ford Box Truck 🚚 should make a great home. Congratulations on the purchase 👏.
Those can be made really nice inside. Enjoy and be safe young lady. Looking forward to how it looks when you are done
