08 Speed 3. 117k miles. still running strong. Stock turbo. But changed Stock intercooler, Cold air intake, straight piped, changed fuel rail and injectors, Turbosmart BPV, Cork sport injector seals (I highly recommend). Just oil changes and fluid flushes. I don't driver it hard either.

I run a balance shaft delete did Hastings king bearings rotella oil deleted the oil filter housing and did spin on oil filter and 50/50 bypass valve. And timing chain from a 2.5 cx7 with full timing kit

sold my 2nd gen I miss it but my close friend has it! Tuned by Justin on 93 20 psi my homie just hit 140k miles and no issues :) He and I both did and do 3k oil changes 5w-40 and constantly checking up on maintenance
People for get about one of the most things about turbo engines.... fuel quality. Constantly used regular unleaded will cause the engine parts run hotter. Over time weakening the metal.

U guys have crazy roads, I was constantly pushing my Campervan Mitsubishi chariot grandis 😂👍🏻 I've never seen so many rubber marks on the road as well, Whangarei Area is wild.

I bought a 2010 Genpu from a guy who used to auto cross, got a new motor (2.3) with good compression and decent miles, what should my starting mods be ? I have a corksport HPFP and rear and tranny engine mounts. The guy did a lot of shit to the suspension and it feels SO planted its gross lol. If i wanna keep the car reliable, what should should i swap out ?
Ive heard that it's good as it puts less weight and stress for the engine to turn over, making it easier to run and I can't say I've ever heard of anyone having problems because of a balance Shaft delete
@@LifeOfTuners Yes that is true, but the purpose of the BS is to counteract dynamic forces and an unbalanced engine is less reliable than one that is balanced but carries more mass
If you want a reliable Mazdaspeed3 then dont tune it. If you want a fast fwd car you already got a stock Mazdaspeed3 which is a fast fwd car :D If you want a really fast car, then you need RWD or AWD No point in modding ms3
If you do it right, keep it under 300whp, you don't sacrifice too much reliability, plus a tune will be nessisary if you want to switch out the bad stock turbo
If you're talking like an eg hatch sure... But you're in a base ass 90s econobox with a Ying yang spinny thang and a laptop in the passenger seat, which might I say...... No car is faster then a civic with a laptop in the passenger seat

Pistons and rods, bearings... just bought the car from a friend who is a diesel mechanic by trade and built the car with the intention of boosting it and sold it to me because he’s 6’4 and a civic is too small for him...

I'd assume so yes, torque is what kills an engine, and you always make the most torque down low

usually people run about e30, due to the fact e85 requires more fuel, on these cars e30 is more efficient so you don’t run out of capacity
