Think about the genius it took from so many to build this. The amount of raw labor. All of that beautiful stone work along side of the tracks. Beautiful country !!!

At 1 hour and 36 minutes and seconds as the train pulls into the station one sees those mountains in the background, looming over the town and station. An absolutely fabulous view, breathtaking in color and scope. The journey by rail is also unique, scenic and well-shot. Very good video in HD. Well done. Thanks again.....

Danke für dieses tolle Video. Da ich die Trisannabrücke noch als Holzbrücke erleben durfte, und den Einschub des Metallbogens mitbekam, erinnere ich mich auch mit ein wenig Wehmut an die weg gefallenen Haltepunkte zwischen Sankt Jakob und Schloß Wiesberg.

The "meep meep" from the Road Runner cartoon is pretty good too. IIRC it means that the train has reached the end of a restricted speed section, i.e. "you can go fast now."

@@ericjamieson The "meep meep" is used to determine the instance when the entire length of the train has passed a particular point. The driver presses the button on the throttle twice. The sound tells him that the end of the train has crossed this position. This is useful to determine that the entire train has entered the platform before bringing to halt, or to change speed when the section speed limit changes.

Except for the bug kill on the windshield, thank you for an excellent video in HD of a quiet train ride via a winding rail route through the mountains along side beautiful scenery on a clear summer day. Would like to see this same train ride and route during the winter with snow blanketing the countryside, for it must be a sight to see. Beautiful country....... Much appreciated.

Sehr schönes Video! Positiv, dass auch mal die andere Fahrtrichtung Bludenz - Innsbruck verewigt wurde. Lustig auch das Brautpaar in Imst am Bahnsteig, da müßte es also einen Gegenschuß auf den Zug geben....

Auf der Website steht OIC 867. 2012 gabs noch OIC-Züge, bevor diese durch RJs ersetzt wurden.
Ich kenne noch den alten Bahnhof von St. Anton. Der war näher im Ortszentrum

I frequently wait at Heilingstatdt in Wien for my train home to Kritzendorf and always love when the express to Krems leaves just before my train and the engine “sings” as it leaves just as it did here at the very start!

Thank you for uploading. This is one spectacular trip! The bug schmutz got a bit heavy in the end though which I saw happen as the trip progressed. There's not much you can do until you stop long enough to clear the windscreen which I understand.

I must agree wholeheartedly with valtrus even though it's taken me 5 years to view it. We traveled the length and breath of this beautiful country but it was all by road. Lovely experience from the engineer's cabin. Would have liked to see his/her's face and all the controls too. Next time?

Most engineers preferred to stay anonymous, but there are some videos that show the controls also. For example the “Salzkammergutbahn” video, with a different locomotive though.

This is an excellent addition to the June 2014 special issue of french magazine "Rail Passion", all about train in Austria. I now can understand why some lengths of the line have remained until today single track and not double
