A cinematic introduction to the Warhammer 40K universe, created using clips from various awesome Games Workshop games and videos.
Hopefully it gives a flavour of the Universe to get more people more interested, gives an overview of the factions, and lets you see the aesthetic (Grim. Dark. Grimdarkness).
It covers: brief overview of the Imperium, Abaddon, the Fall of Cadia, Space Marines, Adeptus Mechanicus, Imperial Navy, Chaos, Nurgle, Tzeentch, Slaanesh, Khorne, the Inquisition, Sisters of Battle, Necrons, Aeldari (Eldar), Asuryani (Craftworlders), Anhrathe (Corsairs), Drukhari (Dark Eldar), Orks, Warp travel, Tyranids, Genestealer cults, and the Tau.

@@jamesricker3997 Guilliman will destroy the heretics and return terra to the emperor's holy light. But in truth Cadia broke because Abadon kamikazed his last black fortress into the planet. Nothing but the emperor himself could have prevented that calamity.

It's actually a more or less acceptable way to pronounce it. It ought to be LOO-per-cull rather than loo-PER-cull, but that can be put down to interpretation. For examples, see various English actors performing Shakespeare's depiction of Marc Antony's speech at Caesar's funeral: "You all did see me at the Lupercal: I thrice presented him a kingly crown which he did thrice refuse."

I’ve literally just discovered warhammer 40k. Came across Leutin09 and arch who I quite enjoy the lore videos.
What’s the best games to start off with and also what’s the best books to begin? I’m literally brand new to this amazing universe.
Depends what part of 40k your interested in. If you want to know the context of why the imperium is the way it is and why chaos is a thing, I’d recommend Horus heresy. If you like a bit of mystery, eisenhorn is a good choice
I'd suggest heading across to one of the 40K reddits, and asking over there. r/40kLore and/or r/Warhammer40k .
games:
battlefleet gothic (for the space ship strategy fix)
warhammer space marine (for some good old shooter/slashing fun)
dawn of war I and II (older but good strategy games)
a game studio called slitherine made a bunch of strategy/tactics games some good some ..not so much
in general warhammer games are a big hit and miss, unfortunately
books: yeah eisenhorn or horus heresy sound good but beware horus heresy is quite long and takes place during 10.000 years before the main setting
BEWARE the reddit however, Arch for example is a persona non grata, you're not even allowed to mention him.
I'd describe it as a lefty cesspool, filled with the worst parts of this fandom only useful if you have very specific questions.
just stick with the youtubers, there are a bunch of great content creators here. for example 40k theory, baldermorts guide to warhammer, maybe some one mind syndicate etc.
Start with Horus Heresy, obviously. It is usually wise to start from the start, you know. :)
As for games I'd recommend Gladius, if you are a turn-based strategy kind.
@@brettpid6416 Completely agree with your game and book suggestions: Eisenhorn is always my go-to for first recommendation. I've had completely the opposite experience with Reddit vs UA-cam. I've found the Reddit community to be really friendly and helpful, whereas the the UA-cam community has always felt more 'tribal'. Maybe a case of 'your mileage may vary'. That being said, I've not really explored the videogame side of the 40K universe, but more the novels/RP/lore, so maybe different communities within communities.
