Literally moving in next month and I’m SHITTING IT! So thank you for this it’s made it seem a lot less stressful than I have built it up to be in my head hahaha 🫶
Thanks for the video. I am suppose to move in this Sept but I'm concerned about the dorms. I like this building out of them all. Are the facilities good?
Hi, sorry for such a late reply I think Peter Taylor is amazing good facilities and a lovely place to stay. I have also been to Swinhoe and the rooms are nice there as well I think nice décor can really help improve it. The corridors are long and not split into flats that's the only concern of mine at first as it might be loud but people are generally respectful and quiet. The kitchens could do with an update but mostly it's good and clean. Altogether it's good for its money and you have to go through uni to access it so very safe, and you feel more connected its also under student union which is nice to hang out in and meet new people.
Hi, I’m moving in to the accommodation this September and I’d like to know if the accom came with stuff in the kitchen? Precisely microwave, kettle and a toaster?
they didn’t have a toaster we needed up buying one but they did have 2 microwaves and one kettle x it comes with an ironing board no iron. we had a mop that got stolen and housing never replaced it so we needed up using the kitchens next door to clean
Hi, I’d also like to ask if there are an exception of the stuff you can bring into the accom, for instance stuff like a portable heater, rice cooker and blender? X
@@jasmineyaa7044 heater I’m not sure on I know you could bring a fan but a heater is a fire hazard. Blender yes that’s fine. The rooms are always super hot anyway as the windows don’t open far
I was told not to in the contract but put it up with non mark rental friendly hooks and they didn't say anything during the inspection and I always passed it. As long as it doesn't mark the walls they don't mind. When I knew they were coming, I took down my fairy lights once but left the hooks up. you do have a pin board that I recommend blue tac not pins they don't go in
Hello I don’t know if you will see this but how will you rate the sedley court accommodation? I need help with mine Apparently the only one left now and I’m not sure about it
The ethnic diversity is good, on my corridor there was a kitchen for people who lived abroad but I believe that's because of covid and how they had to isolate longer. I would say around 250 people in the accommodation there are 5 floors with around 40 rooms. Not everyone is taken some spare. There is a disability block for those with mobility issues who may need help with a fire alarm to get out. They put on activities for the same ethnicity to come together which everyone is invited to but aimed at the ethnic group they have put it on for. There are also clubs for ethnic groups.
@@robynmcnally6143 do people live together in the same rooms? what would the chances be of me having roommates if i went to ARU, and how many would i have?
I studied here, what a waste of time it was - all I gained from it was a 16K debt. I went back to them for career advice but they were not interested. You have been warned.
Heading here in September next year with an unconditional. Cannot wait!
Me to, but this year, I am so excited!
Good luck ! Loved the blog 😊😊😊
Awesome! Thank you!
Hoping to go to ARU end of this year!
