Brought me to tears when Mrs. Mendez choked up talking about her husband passing the day after the book was cleared.

It wasn´t long ago that I stumbled upon Jonna and the same day I bought The Moscow Rules! I have always been interested in the life of spies but no-one have captured me like Jonna talking about it! Jonna, if you are reading this - I am so sorry for your loss! Also, I wish I could visit the museum but I´m way over in Sweden.

I love the SpyCast presentations and after watching several in a row, I wondered:
How did the spare guitar and bass riff become the musical leit motif for all things clandestine? Did it start with the iconic James Bond/007 riff or did it originate elsewhere?
Also: please don't change the Spy Cast score or intro. I love it! 😊
    Thank you!!!

So the mention of the beltway building comes up and then she's talking about a sniper in Dubai. Beltway sniper long time ago. Out of the trunk of a hang on a minute let me see if I can recall the car it was green I believe there was a gas station involved and there was a hole drilled in the back panel like another or a valara it was older perhaps like a Skylark or something. I don't know I have to look it up I'll be right back

She said she never watched Homeland. Hmm. Not sure I'm buying that since she talked about it during another video and talked about Carrie's crazy eyes. How would she know such an intimate detail about a character if she'd never watched the show?

Why was that lady that got up to ask a question wearing that big red hat and long coat inside? Everyone else in the audience had no coats and many had no sleeves. That was odd. it was a good question but, odd appearance.

Many years ago while living in Fl, I happened to become friends with an Army Master Sergeant in Special Forces who was an instructor at the Key West Naval base there. He was an expert at underwater demolitions. He and a select team would go on secret missions to S America, exit from a nuclear sub a mile offshore, swim or raft into shore, sneak into some small jungle village, assassinate some mucky muck, sneak back out to the sub, which never surfaced, and back to Florida. Total mission time barely 4-5 days. The CIA would plant stories in the local media in the country where this happened that “local insurgents” had perpetrated the dirty deed. We would be drinking and partying at his home on the base and he would tell the stories of his, with others who had been with him during the missions. I sometimes left the room for fear that the next day he would regret talking about it with us present. Still friends with him and his wife 30 years later.

      He was a killer.
What he did has absolutely no honor.
What he did was a violation of basic human rights and a criminal act.
I wouldn’t want anything to do with such a person.

I have always loved listening to Jonna. The way she tells a story is so engaging. You somehow walk away feeling like you've heard a deeply detailed account, even as you know that the bit you're getting is maybe 10% of the whole story.
It's beautiful how clearly and deeply in love with Tony she is, and I can only imagine how hard it was to get up on stage and talk about him so soon after his passing. I hope that the joy of his memory can balance the pain of his absence. It was a privilege just to share the world with him.

I saw that dubai hit documentary and those agents wld of been transferred to work in the mossad but they wont be a foreign agent again is what was said n it was also a rush job hit as well. Yes shes rite they knew all the cameras were there. Thats why they wouldnt be field agents n so on. Also the lookouts on the hit wld of been Israeli special forces n NOT all mossad agents. Because there wasent all of them needed to do the hit. Only 2 men were needed as hit team. Others were other jobs.

At video minute 15:00, Jonna says "The work (at the C.I.A.) is not political." 16:16 Jonna says "The facts are getting lost" Mendez was responding to the question, "How do civilians get involved in Spy craft?" This argument is screaming for the scientific method. We need evidence to make good decisions. We can know we are making the right decision when our actions improve the living conditions on earth. You can report a lot of facts, but still never know the truth. The problem with spycraft is the entire enterprise is based on the assumption that we can not trust each other. At video minute 42:42, Jonna responded by saying "Vote." Clearly, the work the CIA does is political. The CIA would do very well to listen to the civilian community. The CIA does inform the President on a regular basis. The President has a responsibility to take the reports seriously. For many months prior to the September 11, 2001 attacks on the Twin Towers, ordinary citizens knew it was going to happen. We did not have any actual intelligence about the crime. It was a gut feeling. I found evidence of this in the crafting community. A quilt magazine I own had a story about a school teacher who made a quilt with clocks on it. For six months prior to the attacks, a child in her kindergarten class had drawn a picture of a clock with its hands at 9:11. He drew this picture over and over again obsessively. She memorialized it in her quilt. I also watched a chanel nine Seattle program about a police detective in New York who believed this attack was about to happen. His superiors removed him from his position because he kept warning them about this attack. They treated him like he was crazy. They refused to take him seriously. I watched that program about a year before the twin towers attacks.
