- We have owned both 2022 Tesla Model Y Performance and Model X Long Range for almost a year. A viewer had asked a question about keeping only one. I thought it was an interesting and fun question. I replied with an answer but wanted to do a video to further elaborate my answer.

I have a road bike (Giant) and my kid has a hybrid from REI (can't remember the name). We also have an e-bike (the one from Costco - it's a smaller one and foldable). These bikes have no issues with the rack. My bigger e-bike Altai Pro R750 has fat tires that don't fit.
I wanted platform style rack that's why I didn't go with the Tesla one. The other one I looked at were Kuat NV2.0 and Thule T2 XTR. Was a bit out of my budget but they are very nice as well. Hope that helps. Please ask if you have more questions. Thank you

Thanks for the shoutout! You made great points on the X and will agree with you. I go from Reno to LA alot and it is the best for long distance. But I was thinking of selling my X for a Y Performance. Here's why.... I should be getting my Cybertruck early next year. (ordered right away on reveal day) Don't want to keep the X and Cybertruck together. (one has to go) Model Y maybe good for day-to-day and Cybertruck I think will be as good on long distance as the X. (air suspension, cooled seats, lots of openess view somewhat like the X windshield) I feel the Cybertruck will be a comfortable ride. The additional driver screen isn't a deal breaker for me. I did use to have a Model 3 Dual Motor (still funnest car for me to drive) Since you had the 3 and now Performace Y, what are your thoughts on my setup?
first off, it sounds like you don't need more than a 5-seater. if this is the case, i'd say cybertruck and MYP or even M3P is a good combo vehicle. i think i mentioned in some videos why i traded in my M3LR for MYP, but i do miss it a little. i too have a reservation for cybertruck. i may keep what i have and add the truck as a 3rd car. i can see you driving that truck more than the MYP... at least that's what i would do. been wanting a truck for a long time but would rather have one as electric than gas/diesel.
no one knows how the cybertruck would be for road trips but based on what features it may have, it may drive similarly to the Model S/X. although it does have rear-wheel steering so the turn radius on it would probably be better than the X and Y.
love my MYP. if i could just get those ventilated seats, i can live without the other goodies the X has. i'm a sweaty driver haha. also, if you plan for FSD, all new Tesla with hardware 4 (HW4) FSD is not available yet... just FYI.

@@sherwinm thanks for the advice…. the Project Highland Performance is a curveball, it’s very enticing :) instead of MYP. We have a 1.5 year old daughter which is why my wife wants the Y instead of another sedan.
Been watching some of your videos. Good stuff. Will need to catch up on your Model 3 episode.
One big reason I traded for MYP is sitting higher. I have lower back issues and sometimes it’s hard to get in and out of the Model 3. Model Y is such a great car. I think more versatile than Model 3. It’s a good choice.

Thanks. I have had the EV9 in my head for a few months now and would be a good alternative to the Model X 6+ seater. But here are my issues before even going to the dealership to check it out.
- The dealership. I don't want to be asked for my info or give up my info just to check it out.
- It has an attractive price if you compare to the Model X 6+ seats but how much more is the markup going to be?
- Kia and Hyundai cars were stolen due to the Tiktok videos of "Kia Boys". How long did it take to resolve this and how difficult was it. My worry is implementation and support of technology.
- Support for OTA software updates and how often are there updates. Tesla, Rivian, and even Ford have been releasing software updates to fix and improve. I haven't heard much from other companies. Maybe they are but I don't come across many articles talking about it so it's a concern.
But if I were to ignore my list above, I think it may be a good alternative to the Model Y if you need more than 5 seats. I've been watching Out of Spec Reviews and they just got an EV9. I'm curious what they will find. Here's one of the videos...

What minivan would you recommend? I want to lease something for my family
We've owned both Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey. If I were to choose between those two, I would go with the Sienna for several reasons. I like the looks better. Hybrid technology is better with Toyota so probably better MPG. If you go with the 8-seater config, the 2nd row design on the Sienna is better in my opinion. Although, I found removing the 2nd row seats easier on the Odyssey than the Sienna.
Others to consider is Chrysler Town and Country. My cousin owned one. I like the interior a lot. Dodge Caravan, my friend had one. We like the stow away seats. You get flat floors if you ever need to haul something that requires flat floors. I'm not too sure how well MPG is though. We never owned either one but just some other options you can look at.
I don't have any input on leasing because we've only leased one car. We leased our 2019 Odyssey Elite because we used it for our business.

Yes I believe it was part of the holiday update. At first I thought only Model 3 Highlander got it but there’s an option to add new Bluetooth device in the rear screen of the X. Kids still don’t use it. They prefer to be on their iPad and iPhone. And the position of the screen is too low
Agreed that it’s too low and better to just use an IPad in lap lol
