My favorite is when the camera man does takes of angles in the house that are dirty while they explain how hard their lives are... Seems like they crews way of being salty 🤣
I guess it's a lifestyle choice for them. In reality, they have nothing to plan or hope for - just a life on benefits, and the odd holiday, not much of a life really.
My grandma who lived through the depression always said no matter how poor you are you can always afford soap. Basically there is no reason to have a dirty house or person.
My granny was the same, she always made sure we were clean and well groomed, ( girls had to have clean hair and it had to be set for church or school) our clothes were clean and in good repair, our house was clean, and she preached cleanliness is next to Godliness . She always said you might not be able to do much about being poor but that's no excuse for being dirty. Miss her everyday.
I cleaned a gross holiday chalet with some of a bottle of cheap washing up liquid. So yeah cleaning is cheap but I think with mental health problems cleaning motivation is affected. I have depression and work full time and I'd rather do gardening, decorating or cooking than cleaning. My mum was the same we both hate dusting. 😂
To her credit, she was aware of the cleanliness of her house being compromised by the pets and was cleaning very thoroughly. I also didn’t see her smoking which certainly helps. She definitely has a way with training the dogs - they did beautifully at meal time which is stressful with animals. I don’t agree with benefits paying for pets but she is at least making an effort towards independence. Now Paul, with a three bedroom home he doesn’t pay for living with just his animals doesn’t seem fair.
@@MrsEJV As much as I agree with you regarding Billie, minus James *not* having a 3 bedroom property (no idea how he wrangled that one), he *is* on long term sickness benefits. The entire point of anyone on long term disability with the money they receive, is to live a life they would had they been capable of work. It seems slightly baffling to me that people such as yourself expect those who suffer with various different types of disablement, to live a miserable existence; no holidays, no animals, no take aways, no restaurants, no small pleasures in life. What, out of interest, would you prefer they do with their lives?
@@walkingonsunshine8574 Amen. My mum was a part time cleaner after retirement, just for some extra money, & the things she’d see in ‘posh folks houses’ (her words..! Lol) or peoples homes who had ‘public jobs’ (Doctors, Surgeons, Nurses, Dentists, etc) made her eyes water ! I think billies garden left a lot to be desired but she mentioned that herself, & as an ex farmers daughter I can confirm trying to keep a tidy garden with lots of animals is almost impossible (our garden was split into 2, we had a beautiful main garden that my mum kept up, gardening was her hobby, vs the other with chickens, a large bonfire area, etc!) Billies heart was in the right place. I’d happily have a cuppa there. x
Working with reptiles for years I would like to say that the poor bearded dragon is in an enclosure that is far too small, no warm and cold spots, nowhere to perch and nothing in the cage but a shitty little bed, they should give him/her away, they obviously bought one and they have no idea how to look after it, I am now so upset, I would take that animal out of that condition, poor gorgeous dragon!
I don't know very much about reptiles but I even I could see that he/she needed a much better enclosure than that. Love it they may giving adequate care they're not.
yes im not knowledgeable about repyiles etc but i could even see that the dragon getting rehomed would possibly be a better idea. To be honest most of those animals lived in dirty conditions.
Love the way they say that "this pet cost me $xxx"... total bollocks - they cost the Tax payers that much not you. Get a clue people, your personal responsibility to make your own way in the world comes first and if the work doesn't exist where you are you have to go to where it is. You don't create a hobby that takes up all of your time such that you can no longer look for or take paid work.
That Paul has plenty of Chickens to keep him occupied, Dogs, Cats & still moans about the House being small!! He'd be in a Bedsit if lucky around here!! He's such a skank. Couldn't care less about our opinions either I bet. (Probs 😅'ing)
When Paul was telling the story about him receiving the bedroom tax reimbursement and the things he purchased with the money... I could’ve fell over when he said he bought a cat. OMG! Cats breed almost as quickly as bunnies so I’m sure he could’ve found himself a free cat, or kitten, almost anywhere... but instead he BUYS one. Makes sense to someone I suppose... Glad there’s no such thing as "pet benefits" because this group of folks would rake in a small fortune!
As a reptile keeper that bearded dragon is malnourished, he needs a better designed vivarium, water (lots) fresh food every day.. and NO BLOODY MEALWORMS!!!!
my husband works in a meat department and he is epileptic and makes very good pay!! I can't get over how many people get out of working. Unbelievable. If they can take care of all their pets they have proven they can take care of themselves.
I wouldn’t have thought controlled epilepsy was a reason for not working any way? Epilepsy comes in many different shapes & forms, it isn’t a one size fits all.
For real! I used to work with a guy who had regular seizures. We’d just put a pillow under his head and help him out when he came to. He still came to work every damn day. These people are full of excuses!
Am I the only disgusted that they had 3000 pound and spend over 500 on car but then still had 1000 pound left and went to the food bank in their car and took from people who really need it ? I am shocked they would do that
Benefits going to Waitrose and those pigs going to the food back while just have being given all that money. Taken it from the mouths of people who really needed it.
Waitrose is not an expensive shop. In some areas (mine) it's by far the best option. It has expensive things in it, but also good quality, well priced options. I don't really know why it's deemed posh. If you have an Aldi or Liddel close by, then the will be cheaper probably, but in rural areas that's often not an option.
Ive not got that far but this got me. "The worst thing about being on benefits, we cant afford to save to go on holiday to Skegness" Trust me, save your money hahahhaah
I live in Australia and some times see bearded dragons out in nature. There are energetic and inquisitive. He was so sad in that prison of his. Also he can't escape the direct heat lamp. He's fully charged an no where to go
Yeah, I have water dragons breeding along the creek on my property in NSW Australia and even hanging out on top of my water tank on occasion. In my opinion, these creatures should never, ever be allowed to be kept as pets. It amounts to cruel and unusual punishment, nothing less. Cheers.
@@oldrustyrelic9121I also don't believe that any birds should be allowed to be kept as pets unless someone has an exceptionally large aviary that is shared by other birds of their own species. You are absolutely correct, if you want to release a bird into the wild that has been bred in captivity, it will never have the skills to survive. Cheers.
I doubt food banks would be impressed if someone had 3k and was getting free food (food donated to food banks), benefits or not. They are designed for people that cannot buy food because they have no money. So it's not just about being on benefits, the food bank has to be the last resort. You also don't have to be on benefits to use a food bank, if you are working but are struggling, you can use them. I guess a lot of it is down to trust and the hope that people will be honest.
I've issued food bank vouchers as part of a previous job, you know a portion of referrals are a bit of a piss take. You also know some food gets wasted and some will get traded for drugs etc. You also know that you can issue two vouchers a month for the same household but the household knows they can access different food banks from different referral points
It’s disgusting. There’s family’s out their with children who end up in a sh!tty situation with just 20p to last them for a week or so who are the ones who need the food banks. Not two people who have just got 3 grand that day. Also he’s using his stomach issues as an excuse not to work. My father in law is the same age if not older with worse stomach issues than him and he’s just built an extension on his property as well as working etc.
People like this take the mick, people who get into debt who can't afford to keep animals, don't have animals if you are struggling on benefits then you wouldn't have to rely on food banks.
I know you mean that as a bit of a sleight. But just maybe they do. If her dogs are as well behaved as it seems then they are no problem and as I keep chickens myself - including cockerels - I just find them a delight. I just wish she and they had more room. Why is it that you find living next to animals a problem?
He gets £1000 a month, is completely fit and capable of doing some kind of work but apparently has "mental health issues". I have 7 illnesses, 2 neurological and 5 physical and I get £200 a month from UC and have been refused PIP on three occasions. This system is broken beyond repair. None of these people are entitled to these benefits. They're just lazy wasters
I know it’s so wrong. I had a brain injury a few years back that resulted in now permanent issues with my vision and other neurological issues as well as seizures but I can’t get pip. My daughter who’s 10 has rheumatoid arthritis and is on a chemotherapy drug each week also can’t receive disability living allowance. It’s messed up
@@zoecellis88 the benefit system isn't designed for genuinely sick people. It's designed for lazy wasters and people who just wanna pop out dozens of children. This country is messed up beyond repair and I'd love to be able to get out. I don't know why people want to come and live here
Really relate to this 3 neurological conditions, 1 genetic condition and 2 other physical conditions + mental health and autism + adhd. I worked until august when I lost my job due to my health. PIP being appealed, UC give me personal allowance + housing. I’m desperate to go back to working even if it’s just part time and topped up by UC. Feeling like I’m getting to being able to do remote work from bed for a few hours a week tho! Just not enough to sustain myself
"Mental health issues" affect folk differently, for example, i haven't been able to hold a job due to bipolar disorder railroading my life while i know others living with Bipolar that have fulfilled careers. Here where i live in Canada, mental illness is taken seriously and if it affects your ability to hold a job you can file for disability. Myself, I've been fired from every job i worked, it's not that i didn't want to work as i would love to get off disability, it's that employers don't want to deal with a manic/depressed employee, especially if it's a disruption to the business. Even with medication, i cannot predict when an episode will happen, which has caused me to be fired many times in the past or gave me false confidence to take a job that's beyond my skill level. Lastly, if your mental illness is severe enough to require constant hospitalization, good luck finding a job that will accommodate, in my experience, your more likely going to lose your job. Bottom line, mental health issues don't have a one size fits all solution, just because you can cope doesn't mean others can, our brains may be similar but they are genetically different. I often say to people I'd love to trade my bipolar disorder for your job, i bet your job is easier to navigate that's for sure.
Oh man it is so so hard to rest after napping . These people are amazing . They should be economic advisers . Using the system is a gift and these people have it in spades .
There’s a lady in our local Asda in a wheelchair and she still works. All comes down to your ethics. If you want to work you can. This is full of excuses to me
@@Jadedjade2000what do you mean? These people are clearly fit to work, they have pets that the tax payer pays for while they sit at home all day long.
Not all disabilities are the same. Yes if you have a mobility aid like a wheelchair most places are willing to adapt to it. But many chronic/autoimmune disorders don't leave people with enough energy to work. Sounds like your only exposure to disabled people is those 'inspirational' movies where the person overcomes their disability if they just 'believe' enough.
‘The last time we let them out was at least a couple of weeks ago’ the f’in cruel knob heads… they don’t even work so they have time to look after their birds!

Terrible life even for a lizard. Just lies there. Why do they even keep it. Baffles me really. The only thing I can think is that it makes themselves feel a bit exotic. And that is a shit reason to keep a creature.
There should be a certain time limit that people can be on "benefits". After that, he/she has to go working in a farm picking fruits, or feeding chickens, or something similar. If someone can take care of his/her pets at home, there must be something he/she can do in a farm.
I dont know if it is still in use but in the Channel Isles if you claim assistance you have to do local work such as helping in OAPs homes sweeping the streets etc.pity it didnt happen here we have so many professional scroungers i know from experience as a shop owner with the scroungers buying top of the range items & bragging how they beat the system
To be fair, being physically able and being mentally able to work are different things. If someone is autistic, they really may struggle to mentally cope with working.

Billy just needs a mentor and some guidance and she will do anything she wants with her life. She is very motivated and always looking for a way to better herself. I hope someone helps her with some business guidance so she can flourish!

If these were kids instead of animals, you'd all be slagging them off 😂 Same applies to these guys. Can't afford your pets? Stop getting so many and expecting tax payers to feel sorry for you not eating 🙄 Not fair on the animals either
You people love to throw around the term ‘tax payer’. Everyone in England pays tax unless they work cash in hand. ALSO, why don’t you put your energy into the disproportion of wealth. If you live in the UK YOU also use a benefit system of some sort so please, get off your high horse and read a book
The bearded dragon is neglected and as this documentary is old probably won't have lived much longer unless given to a charity who can provide it with the right enclosure and food.
I just wonder how many of these benefit leaches get kicked off the free handouts after shows like this air, and the council sees what is really going on.
Their houses are disgusting! Where are the RSPCA! Why has a single man got a 3 bedroom house??? Why have a couple got a 2 bedroom flat??? This is all wrong!
The house looks a decent size with 3 bedrooms and he is complaining about the Size? Paid for by taxpayers a lot who work hard and have smaller houses with no complaints. Ungrateful man.
@Cornish I'm a fellow Cornish person! I'm definitely not jealous! I've worked for everything I have! If you are Cornish, you know the struggles here in the SW. much the same as anywhere.
@Cornish nope! We are on the verge of a housing crisis in Cornwall. The council are buying static homes in holiday parks to alleviate the issue! It's not right?
As a 33 year old male, who has just lost his job due to reimbursement, I would just like this opportunity to say, these people should be ashamed to stay on benefits for any longer than a month or two Max! It’s horrible being on benefits 😂 get me back into work!!!
No, they shouldn't. If they're comfortable on benifits they shouldn't be ashamed of themselves. Do you want them to be miserable in work? The only reason they should be ashamed is if they choose to breed.
While I do not know the details of the lady with epilepsy, I was diagnosed 10 years ago after having multiple seizures. It is a life-limiting condition, but rarely one that stops a person from working. It annoys me to see this because people with epilepsy fight every day to live normal, productive lives so I'm sceptical about seeing an able-bodied woman claim that epilepsy has stopped her working altogether. In most cases, it doesn't because it can be controlled by medication.
Absolutely love Paul..and Billy ...i wonder what they are doing now? Really hope Pauls confidence is improved, very sweet guy andhope Billy has her business xx
I’m really concerned about the bearded dragon, I hope that they have rehomed him ☹️ most concerning is his diet, he is being starved. Meal worms are not a staple in a bearded dragons diet, locusts, crickets and Dubai roaches are a better option and they need a variety of fresh greens etc daily, they can even have occasionals like cucumber, bell peppers, apple etc things most of us have in the kitchen anyway. They can even eat dandelions which are free if you have them in your garden🙈! His setup isn’t correct either..
@@bernadettedevereux4489 I didn’t think of that 🙈 I hate to see animals being mistreated. I adopted a bearded dragon over a year ago and was sure to do my homework first. I had to upgrade her vivarium as it was too small and get her a thermostat etc
I was thinking the same thing and we don't own bearded dragons I don't really know much about them but I know that a diet on just mealworms would be miserable. I think people who are getting any sort of pet should do research before they get them even cats and dogs require research because different breeds need different things. They clearly haven't done that research they've just decided they want bearded dragons and got them. I despise impulsive buying when it comes to animals they're not objects they are living beings that cost money to keep and providing a good quality of life costs. on a less serious note have you seen the size that some locusts get to we had one once that almost filled up the entire container this thing was a monster.

But this guinea pig really needed rescued he was being kept in a nursery and the nursery was closing down they said if he wasn't taken they were going to release him which is horrible. So he came home to us and the moment I learned we were getting a Guinea pig I googled everything I listed food guinea pigs could have I joined groups on face book and asked there I learned everything in just that day. His name is Oscar when he came home to his forever home with us he was still a baby and he was quiet nervous because of being in a nursery. It didn't take him long to settle. The cage he was in was far too small so we got a big one. We did get a list of foods that were apparently his favourite on that list were orange peppers that is false his favourite is green peppers. The reason I thought guinea pigs were nervous animals was because the noise they make which is called wheeking I thought they made that noise when their nervous. I can't see how getting a tattoo over paying bills, is a wise choice. It is not a NEED. It's a WANT. What we want is not in the same criteria as what we need. So, it makes little sense, in my opinion.
They are all ok to work. They're just lazy! I work with osteoarthritis, a recent hip replacement, cataracts, stress and anxiety. I claim nothing! Paul is capable of working, he just doesn't want to 😠. He's a scrounger.
Paul getting a rural 3 bedroom house with driveway and generous garden space is exactly why so many scroungers decide to stay on the dole their whole lives. The system is too easy. Forgot were in a “housing crisis” though 😅
It's because he's more vulnerable due to being both gay and having mental health issues. He obviously does suffer from his mental health issues...and it's also possible that the village he lives in doesn't have a shortage of housing as much as bigger places, which is why he was allocated a house rather than a flat. My friend is gay and he was beaten up in his old street and it's considered a hate crime so he was given a new flat in a different area. We must look after the vulnerable, it's what makes us a decent society.

Epilepsy is NOT an excuse, it's a genuine sickness and a serious one. People who have worked with, known of people and heard of who have epilepsy, and been able to SOILDER ON, are nieve to think ALL people with this condition are the same. I might suggest, that people giving these negative comments, should not, until they actually know what they're talking about.
Epilepsy looks different on different people. I didn't realise how serious of a condition it was until my sister was diagnosed. I’ve had epilepsy for decades and it’s never been fully controlled by medication. I regularly have fits and have ended up in intensive care on a ventilator in an induced coma multiple times. I’ve always worked because not working won’t change my condition and I like my work. I know people who don’t work because their job depended on using machinery or driving and others who can’t cope with the thought of having had fit in public. I sometimes have extreme post-ictal behaviour (attacking people, taking my clothes off, automaton actions etc) which when I’m told about it cause me distress and embarrassment but I’ve learned to cope. I just see my condition as something other people experience because I’ve never had any knowledge of anything happening. Yes, coming round with tongue bites and soaking clothes from pissing myself can be upsetting but I’m used to it. Other people can’t cope and I understand it.
Same! I have severe social anxiety - diagnosed. And complex PTSD. But I still went to school, educated myself, and now I'm a nurse.. Seems that most of the problem is that a large number of people are just not clever enough to be useful employees. You could say "How clever do you need to be to fill shelves or sweep up?" But you need time management, organization, communication skills and a degree of self-motivation. I don't think this group here, except the dog trainer, are intelligent enough to be attractive to an employer. Maybe there should be government work, sewing mailbags, sorting widgets.

In the US if your in low income housing your only allowed 1 pet or no more then 2 therapy animals. No caged animals allowed for any reason. This stops people like this getting to many animals that they can't afford. Focus is how to get out of low income housing and back on your own feet. Unless your disabled they expect more from you. They don't put up with lazy people not working. Your required to work at least 15 hour a week or volunteer for 15 hours a mth. You can only get away with not doing either by having to go to theripy, drug rehab, or cronic sick child or yourself is disabled waiting on your disability. They also check up on you every 6 mths and see your situation changed. Its a whole thing in low income housing in the US.

If not, it should be

The rspca won't do nothing they have no power anyway, plus ironically they the rspca are the biggest benefit scroungers from charity donations
She can no longer drive after two accidents while having seizures behind the wheel, one with her daughter in the car. She can't work because of the severity of her epilepsy and I can absolutely see why others can't as well, even if I never witness them have a seizure in person to know 'how bad' their condition is.
Epilepsy is different in everyone. I have 3 or 4 seizures a week which need emergency mdazalam to stop. I have been in intensive care 4 times. Don’t judge everyone with the same brush. Read up on epilepsy.
Could not agree more, you should keep your house clean & tidy with family % pets.
It's really annoying when the say "we've been paid".
You get "paid" when you work.
Billie seems to be the only full shilling of the bunch.
How can she be with all those nasty dogs?
She's probably two groats 😃
I just love Billy she is so lovely. I hope her business works out for her. I wish she lived closer to me i could have done with her help with my dog and also my cleaning, she would be so much fun to have around. Bless you Billy and your doggies.
She selfish and anti social having all those aggressive dogs
@@clivebaxter6354 Who are you to tell her she is selfish? she loves her dogs she takes them to the vets she feeds them she takes them out for excise, she loves them and they love her. if a dog is taught to be aggressive then they will be aggressive no matter what breed they are , there is not one sign these dogs are aggressive. i think you are probably more aggressive than these dogs, it's due to people like you that these dogs get a bad rep. she obviously likes animals more than she likes people and i wonder why that is?
@@p.j4545 Experience, dogs are a noise pest and often a danger to those living near people like this woman , who think of nobody except themselves and their nasty dogs.
@@clivebaxter6354 I bet your a bundle of fun. Nothing nasty about dogs just people
@@clivebaxter6354 There is something very strange about people who dont like dogs Your the 1st person i have come across.
Beautiful siameses. At least they're well cared for
Billie's mate looked terrified during that driving lesson. 🤣🤣🤣
Kim and Gary, what a couple, you have to see to believe
My brother has dealt with seizures for years and yet still managed to study to become an Ambo AND he works as an orderly.
My parents have lived with depression and anxiety for pretty much their whole lives, yet they've always worked. Especially my Dad, who went through a traumatic childhood and he was a military man for twenty years. He has worked for years and years, even taking on a holiday job after he retired.
I have crippling social anxiety and depression, yet I still work 38 hours a week as an insurance agent.
This episode made me pissed, and similar ones in general. When I got my full time job and got off of benefits, it's done nothing but make my mental health improve.
Being busy helps and you can focus on other things other than your own head. Get off your ass, get busy and be amazed at the results...
Just remember more of your tax money goes on producing £150,000 bombs to drop on middle Eastern goat herders than goes to these people, and shows like this are designed to fill your heart with hatred
You can choose to make the best of it & you can always challenge yourself. Bcs nothing feels better than when your hard work & efforts pay off!
It will NOT help to isolate at home, refuse work. That's a sure way to make it all worse..
I hope you will continue to fight it & NOT let it take over your life & some day it all may be a thing in the past ❤😊
Yeah but they don't make programmes about us employed who have health problems as it's not as exciting. 😂
My gosh that was a lot of food for free! I have used the food pantry before, and you only get 2 bags worth, 1 choice of chicken or hamburger and nothing to make a complete meal out of! They are so lucky!
Where I live we don't even get meat like that. We get pinto beans, flour, oats, bread, and some expired fruits and veggies. I was so jealous when I saw their food bank haul.
Hey, they saw the television cameras and then all normal rules are thrown out. So many things on tv are garbage versions of real life.
I’d be ashamed to use a food bank if I had more than £1. They are supposed to be for people who literally don’t have a single penny. They just got 3 grand!. Disgusting.
How did Paul, a single guy get a 3 bedroom council house?
Ask Paul Daniels
😂😂
Good question! Maybe it is so rural families prefer to live in more populated areas.
Same. I want his "tiny" 3 bed council house.

It's not any better here in America. There needs to be stricter rules and guidelines. I am all for helping people, but when they are able, there needs to be a point where they begin to help themselves.
Where I live we are only allowed up to two pets in council property how are they allowed all them ?
Either don't report them or it is private rent!
She’s pretty good with her dogs. I was impressed the way they waited individually to be told to eat with a finger point. The raw chicken and bones was new to me. I knew dogs could eat raw meat….but wow.
Benefit scroungers love Eddie Stobart 😂
Ffs between Gary clear as day manipulation tactics with that poor lass "dont cut yourself with the tin" "dont drop it on the floor" negative reassurance at its finest... between that and the fukn dog whisperer how did this even get on the tele 😂😂😂 theres a fine line between training and teasing a dog and shes walking it like a tight rope 😂😂😂 belter of an upload thanks this is hilarious
You someone has never had experience with kids when they say having pets is the same as having kids! I understand loving them like they're their kids, but looking after pets is a heck of a lot easier than raising kids.
No it isn't, human children are the neediest greediest offspring of any living being. Animals are independent from an early age, and most of them are beautiful to look at, unlike human babies. Also they won't be demanding and screeching for toys and computers all their lives
Definitely!. It makes me laugh when people say that. They’d have a shock going from animals to kids!
Plus they are having it easy . Put food for the animals and they are all towards you. With humans it is complex , and they can't handle that.
She has so many of them though that it equals at least a kid.
@camillelicour525 no it doesn't. Pets can be a handful of course, but as someone who's had pets and has children, children are far harder.
What a fine example of a humanity.
The amount of salt on that broccoli omg
This amazes me how they just got over £3000 backdated money but still went to the food bank just ripping the pish out of it
Please please please rehome that bearded dragon, he looks sick, he has no enrichments in his enclosure, hes gonna be dead already cos this series is old, but it breaks my heart.
Since animal abuse bothers you, would you be willing to go vegan? 🌱💚
Gary is on the sick with diarrhoea 😂
Totally bizarre! The rest of us have ‘to work hard for the money’ - (& can’t afford to take on pets as well - without a job to pay for their costs)……Very odd!🙀🙀🙀
Good for them, they are enabled by their councils. Hopefully the refugees can get equal treatment.
epilepsy and stage 2 heart failure here and i can still work, luv. stow the excuses.
