I like your hay rack. I've never seen them attached that way. Usually see them in a Vshape with the opening at the top not the side like you have it. Very cool.
Your piggies look so healthy, such shiny, beautiful coats! I can tell they're very happy, every time you film with the piggies, their cheeky little faces are always up at the bars, with their beautiful bright eyes! I love your videos!
Brilliant video. Brilliant cage. Spoilt boys ❤️ What’s your thought on limiting or not limiting calcium with the causing of bladder stones? I’ve just lost my precious 5 month old piggy when a stone got stuck and blocked his bladder. He had an op but he ended up with renal failure and had to be pts.
I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your piggy. Sending lots of piggy love ❤ There can be a genetic reason for bladder stones, as your piggy was so young this could have been a factor for them, but there is also some research that diet can cause bladder stones too. I personally don't avoid calcium completely as it is still needed for piggies (just like humans). Instead, I focus on providing a balanced diet of healthy pellets (only 5% of their diet) (no grains, mainly hay based - I have a video with details about what pellets are good & not), vitamin c focussed vegetables (10-15%) & lots of long green healthy hay (80%).
Popcorning Piggy thank you for replying. . I think my piggy was extremely unlucky, especially at only 5 months. I feed in the correct amounts and feed the finest hays and quality pellets etc. Just miss him x
Hey, I don't have apple podcast, Instagram, facebook , but I listen to your podcast on Spotify so I guess this is a podcast review! I love the podcast and I don't even have Guinea pigs at the moment, I am getting my house ready to have 2 the podcast helps me so much to know how to let my future pets the best life that they can have also I have a question; I have no rescues/private breeders/etc... But I do have a cavy savy vet, in this situation would it be OK to buy from a pet store?
Thanks for listening! It is ultimately your choice where you get your guinea pigs from. There are just so many in rescues that I always encourage people to explore that option first & foremost.
Awesome idea using a combo of grid types for the hay!

Susan Aponte Thanks Susan! ❤️❤️ You’ve made both me & the piggies blush!
The cages look amazing :)
Thanks!
What bedding have you used?
Why do you put fleeces down, what are the advantages compared to other types of bedding?
I need to figure out how to build a habitat that is two stories but it connects so they can run up to the second tier.
Love it! 💖
