I am for sure not an experienced Mooney pilot (less than 100h on type).
Checklists help to avoid forgetting minor things (e.g. flying all time with the landing lights on) or more severe stuff like the landing gear.

Another great and informative video in a great plane, one of the two I chose as complex aircraft for my commercial license, the other being a Citabria Decathlon. Two very different planes at both end of the performance spectrum. I could relate when you put on speed brakes on final. Mine didn't have them and that thing didn't want to "come down or slow down", once took almost 30 mins to come down from FL 180 without shock cooling the engine. Like a jet, flying a Mooney means staying way a head of the plane! Thanks again for another wonderful vicarious adventure that only took 14 mins rather than the 5 hrs it took you.

you are correct, these aircraft are almost on the opposite end of the performance envelope.

I have tried the suits but fortunately, it was in the Air Force pool (Training) but temp wasn't the same. Open water diving in the middle of winter on the other hand.....

+Guido Warnecke Hey Guido, why did you choose a Vs of +/- 5? I know the Mooney can climb/descend at over 1000 fpm.

It is not pressurized.
If you go @ 1000 fpm, you have to reduce engine power a lot in order not to overspeed.
