So great to see an actual artist who produces their own music and knows what they are talking about and is genuine, honest and not a pretender. We need to highlight more of these people than the social media DJs who haven’t opened a DAW in their life and play pretend on social media Djing other people’s music.
As a DJ, you don't necessarily have to be able to produce and vice versa. These are two different things. Just sayin‘. Unfortunately, it has become a necessity to be able to do both. Respect to everyone in both top positions.
@ of course! I loved your video on echio! Would you be so kind to let me know what kind of chair that is? Im buying a new one and this one looks amazing 🤩
This is super inspiring! You see so many producers with crazy expensive setups and its super refreshing to see someone so good just go in the box and make such great music
Exactly what I came here to say. Seeing rooms full of mixers and synths can be intimidating and overwhelming to a new producer looking to get started. This shows you don’t necessarily need to spend £X0,000 just to get noticed.
This space is absolutely inspiring so full of light and life! The plants, the vibe…how would anyone ever leave this chair? I swear, future archaeologists would find my fossilized remains just chilling right here! Amazing sounds!
Lovely episode. Very talented and hard working artist , surrounded by a lovely collective 🌿 Wonna thank Electronic Beats for using the track "OvO" in this episode ❤
For sure one of the most inspiring artists across the board right now with such a perfect attitude towards it all, always fresh and unique, always got that groove that just hooks you in from the get go and this intricate fluidity. This was a beautifully presented, fascinating insight into Polygonia's world. Thank you
Everytime I see polygonia featured anywhere I am just so happy. Such a wholesome human being, from the first track I heard I knew she would make it big. Also I need all tracks running in the Background wtf?
It is a software which my team and I at IO records are currently developing. It'll be out by the second half of 2025. :) We'll start posting more info soon on our insta and create a newsletter as well. Thanks for your interest!
@@polygonia8301 What a wonderful thing to do. I would definitely buy the software you guys make🍀 I am following you. Thanks for getting back to me. Love you and your creative music😊
Being in the opposite position with a cluttered creative space and too much hardware that I am torn on keeping, this video and her music is super inspiring!!! Also did not know about TDR Lim or Kelvin, will probably grab both of those. Very smart/zen process.
One of my reference producers nowadays. A brilliant approach to creation totally opposite to what I do but thats the nice thing at the end. To find the tools that suits you best.
Quick straw poll. Do you guys mix as you go or do you get your track all arranged, levels and balance done, then mix in a seperate session? Or something between the two? Personally I like to work fast and get things sounding nice as I go along, which inspires the track I'm making too.
Great interview - can totally relate to having a nice computer setup, sound, monitoring and environment. What is the spectrum analyser/oscilloscopes she is using?
agree on the hardware thing! I feel a lot of people over-romanticize hardware because it's less accessible. The metering Dycide has been working on looks amazing, and the Tokyo Dawn Limiter is sooo good. I've also been trying to make a max for live device to process kicks but it's not done yet. Half your other favorite artists: 30 synths/drum machines circling entire studio; Polygonia: OPERATOR + plants XD
i feel seen about working in the box, for me trying to wrestle both software and hardware at the same time is a major break in my flowstate, I don't want to put my keyboard and mouse away, get out my chair and unpack some kind of synth or keyboard or drum machine and get it set up to start recording in, in this way I can see the appeal in going completely dawless, but the mix of the two has always struck me as inefficient to productivity. its fairly easy to humanize anything in the daw nowadays too with either randomization of velocity and timings etc.
@@polygonia8301 hey Polygonia, great job!! can I ask you? You say that you use only Ableton, but I think stoor Amsterdam with speedy j and rrose you was playing with some hardware equipment, is it just controller for Ableton? Or some drum machines?
@@romantio It was Ableton, controlled by four akai midi mixes. For live sets I also always use the drum machine Drambo on the IPad next to Ableton, which I did for Stoor as well. Next to that I use another IPad with the Touchable pro app, it is my substitute for the Push as it works a bit faster for me. The other artists used hardware. But I don't use hardware in the studio or for live sets. The only hardware I use are two FX pedals (Reverb and Delay) when I DJ.
Love the mixing/ technical stuff whilst making the track. I cant understand why you it needs to be some big process after. Im not an engineer or anything but if it sounds right from the beginning, why go and change it after the fact.
so can you then also develop audio software as a lazy gen z kid? not sure about that. But that's exactly what we're doing. A bit sad that you judge so fast though. I guess you don't know my work at all.

Is there a world in which the Tech Talk with ASC is possible, that is the question
Anyone know when the program she talks about in the tools section will release?
