Great knife history my friend. Thanks for putting this out. A similar family cutlery story that involves Northfield, Cattaraugus, Case, New York Knife, C. Platts & Sons, Crandall Cutlery, Western States Cutlery is the story of Sheffield born and trained Charles Platts (1838-1900). Many similarities to Mr. Mason. Knife history is fascinating.
Great story on the history of this Mr . Mason. Didn’t shoe companies back then give away knives if you bought a pair of their shoes. Seems like I’ve seen knives for sale on eBay that had Mason Shoe Company etched on them. Really interesting stuff!
Thank you for an interesting presentation of knife history. I enjoyed the informative details of the presentation. I live in the Pittsburgh area and never knew about any of this information.

Wow. Look for all three of those knives. Binns & Mason, Beverly Falls, and Pittsburgh cutlery. All of them are rare. Good luck, brother 🙏
