Route 66 in a 50 year old, standard spec 1973 MG Midget. 7 weeks on the road both ways plus a bit extra though other states, with hood up for less than 2 hours.
We (Jim & Johnny) having reached Arizona, go from Lupton to Holbrook Arizona by which time we have done about 2075 miles in the 1275cc Mk3 MG Midget.
Wigwam motel, Fort Courage, Houck Arizona, Stewarts Petrified Wood store, Lipton, Holbrook.

Ironic as mine is 64 and Jims in the video is 73 so you've own a Mk1 a year older than mine and a Mk3 a year older too. Don't they just drive beautifully Pachuco 👍

Watching this, I was wishing I was traveling along with you guys. You did a great job on the video though of giving the viewer the feel of being on the trip with you. Thanks for these fun videos. I'm seeing a lot of places I missed on Route 66 (which means I have to start planning another route 66 trip 👍).
Where did you guys end up staying in Holbrook? I know the wigwams are hard to book.

Nice of you to say a pity our paths didn't cross sooner would have been good meeting up somewhere on route. We got a number 6 or some such chain motel blue red sign after the rain. On the way back we got Jim's Childhood dream and stopped in the Wigwam Motel ... I had a tight budget so couldn't push boat out too much, plus it was 7 weeks on the road.
      All the best Johnny

You don't have to bust open the bonnet to make sure there is still oil in it every morning?

Bit slow there Steve, the old joke about British engines leaking all the time. Now my one here in Britain is a camel doesn't drink often at all, but Jim's that we used is more like a steel worker in the 1970s needs a couple of pints as soon as it finishes it's shift.
